Hi guys! I don't have any knowledge in coding but I had an idea in my mind for a modded charm: basically it is some sort of lifesteal charm that makes the focus ability drain life from the enemy to heal TK. Its name would be "Soul Drainer", I think it sounds badass. I didn't think for a description yet. What are your thoughts?

I wouldn't call it the first good mod, as tons of previous mods have been good, but perhaps "proper" would be better. The first fan-made add on that is highly similar to previous Team Cherry made add ons.

If you see at the end of the video, when I use DDark, I rapidly move to the right. I'm not doing that, it's doing it of it's own accord. When I do Abyss Shriek it's the same.
yea, that's the script i made to move the knight along the path, so if one managed to respawn during that, it will move you from the respawnpoint to the next point of the path

I'm referring to how I move when I do Abyss Shriek of DDark. I'm not touching the controls when I move, it just moves for me. I can't even cancel it or anything, which makes me think it it's caused by the spinny-silk-thing.
Also sorry for taking so long to respond, I had to get back to the location to get more footage.
yea it is, it moves you vertically at all times (ddarking is apparently fast enough to outdo the movement by the silk thing) and horizontally only when you don't have control of the knight, which happens to be during ddark and shriek

Old nail broken vessel with no spells, ancient basin grub without mantis claw by pogoing off infection bubbles, getting past the great ancient basin gap without crystal dash, and getting rancid eggs for 800 geo from Mato, i urge everyone who hasnt tried yet to do an item randomiser, with starting items on and spawn location random
not only is it fun as hell, but it also tests your skill at simple/hard skips, and bosses you werent really ready for, because let me tell you, doing a skip you came up with to a place you wouldnt otherwise get to makes you feel like a god
just reset until you get moonmoth wings and no mantis claw, mantis claw can remove some of the fun in skips and moonmoth wings opens up so many more unique ones
please try it, you will have a blast

I can't include it into my mod because of ModInstaller's limitations, sadly.
If 56/Gradow decides to let us add files to other folders thru ModInstaller it would be great.
Also the library for discord RPC mod is a COM library which can't be used by Modding API sadly because it would simply cease every mod to working

VSCode is great because you can install a portable version and it's MUCH, MUCH SMALLER

while VS2019 takes up like several gigabytes

It might load after when the discord thing would need to be loaded, so in that case, don’t add any hooks or anything and just add a message in the get version text telling the person to restart the game. At least that’s how I’d do it
i mean you could also have an async download and only start sending to discord when all the files are available using a download completed handler

i mean if the mod references methods from the dependency then yes, it must be loaded before the mod

not sure if this idea has been floated around before but, imagine vessel maker but one that actually generated skins at the end of it based on the options one selects
it would be a massive art project, possibly needing to involve multiple artists, but if each "feature" of the knight was a separate layer, then we could layer the features to generate a custom skin.

I don't know if it's really appropriate to request mods, but if there was a simple mod that hid completion percentages from the main menu even when you had world sense it'd be kind of useful when HK crashes and you have people in Twitch chat who are going to guess your completion percentage. (Right now we have to remember to hide HK until we reload the save to avoid letting them see it.)

For a rando run, that's the only place I ever care to see it. For a non-rando run, I'd probably have mods disabled. (Been debating on doing a vanilla steel soul playthrough)

@random elk On an existing save, that still shows the real % on the select profile screen, even after benching. It does show 0% on the inventory menu though.
I'll go test on my other save that doesn't have World Sense yet but I know where it is

It's at 94% completion (World Sense brings it to 95% apparently), you can find it for 1 geo at Sly. Probably requires the latest version of Column's multiworld mod (even though it's a single player seed).
Yea I saw this problem also, for new saves it worked for me. For old saves maybe just open the save, close the save and quit the game and then open the game again. And hopefully it'll work

Alright. I was only wondering because if it does require something that's not "taught/learned" in the base game, then I was going to suggest that maybe some way of teaching the player about it at the beginning might be really helpful. The mod so far feels like a really nice natural expansion on the game- like I could almost see it being part of the vanilla game.
Okay, my first launch after installing:
- I loaded save 5 which had World Sense. It still showed the correct (77%) completion percentage on the select profile screen, but showed 0% in the inventory screen
- I loaded save 6 which did not have World Sense, and then got World Sense and did save/quit. Same thing; it now showed the correct completion percentage on the select profile screen but not in the inventory.
- Deciding the mod didn't work, I uninstalled it.
- Later, my save 1 (which is my legacy "beat the game vanilla" save) was showing 1% on the select profile screen -- I had never even opened it while the mod was installed.
Were these saves made after installing the mod?
No. But I did load them long enough to bench with the mod installed.

To fix it you can edit the save and change the value 'completionpercentage' to 112

It's not bizarre. When the game asks for completion percentage, the mod will return 0 (or 1 for some reason) and change the value permanently so removing mod doesn't do anything

and it's already been broken in other ways before, like when I loaded it with randomizer and it was confused so there was a DDive just waiting at Soul Master and it downgraded my DDark

Kind of a weird question about Knight Sprite skins. I've been looking at a few, and notice that some have just stuck to the largest sprite sheet (knight.png) while others have included several different sprite sheets (such as the sprites for Hornet saving the knight in Kingdom's edge). I assume this means that any skins that don't have those would just use the base sprites?

so if there is no file with the same name theres nothing to replace

Playing a Randomized run, got Monarch Wings from the Grimm Troupe, yet it hasn't turned the crossroads infected. Not particularly an issue but it's odd.

not quite, area rando separates sub areas too. i believe there's a map of area transitions pinned in #randomizer
so for example cliffs, stag nest, and king's pass are all separate areas, and the transitions separating them are randomized

not really. you see, customknight+ isn't really able to use the knight spritesheet unless I write something to generate a globalsettings file that would let it be used. Basically you can create spritesheets where positions, sizes, and frames are completely irrelevant, but to read the sprites on those, you need to write a globalsettings file containing the positions and other data of each sprite, and the data of the animations you intend to replace.
is customknight+ on a public repo ? would love to see this positions and sizes part 😛

so instead of you place the whole thing you only replace 1 small thing
