Hey peeps, I feel like I need to share my thoughts (I'm also curious what you think) about what can SS potentially take away from Metroid Dread. Personally I'm a fan of metroidvanias in genenral, and had my fair share since my first one (Metroid II on the original game boy) so I feel like I might know a thing or two. Metroid Dread is good. It's damn good. I've blasted through normal in almost 48 hours straight, up to 100%, then completed hard mode to 100% casually in the following 2 weeks, and was left wanting for more, even with the same content again. I find the game one of the most re-playable games I've ever played, mainly because of it's movement mechanics. Samus' movement is very detailed and very fluent, and every room is designed so you can get through it in more than one way without ever stopping. This feeling of fluidity of motion, the feeling that if you're good enough, you can just literally "dance" your way though the game is extremely satisfying. It makes me want to play this game over and again, just so that I can do it better next time. Now my point is: I really hope SS nails (pun intended) this aspect of gameplay. Hornet has amazing potential for such mechanics, and if there's one thing TC can learn from Metroid Dread, please let it be the movement tech!
