I beat the original final boss yesterday and am currently working towards one of the 2 new Afterlife endings since sadly choosing one locks you out of the other. Also, if you trigger the ending cutscene of the original ending, it spits you into NG+ and locks you out of the Afterlife endings until you complete the game again so be careful but you'll cross that bridge when you come to it.
