Well, I'm not actually sure that they're hard program to follow up with certain attacks, but they choose them based on circumstances, so it often feels like they used the perfect attack to fuck you over at the moment.
Especially with monsters that can paralyze or sleep, they often use their strongest attack on you when you're asleep or paralyzed.
The Barioth variant from Iceborne always does his super slam on you if he manages to freeze you with his ice breath

It felt like HK fans were really digging their knives into Metroid Dread despite being fellow Metroidvania/Search Action fans looking to see the genre thrive and keep pushing limits. tbh I could do without an iframe dash. Shadow dash wasn't bad, far from it, it just wasn't overall fun. It felt like it just reduced the complexity of combat overall, instead of expanding it

I think Shadow dash is a "good enough" move in the game. Like, it fullfills its purpose, some bosses needs you to pass through things (Traitor Lord, which feels like it's designed to be some Shadow Dash tutorial). But it's either not something that completely changes the way you move

And as I said, I don't think it's bad, I just don't think it's a meaningful expansion on combat, and if anything it's a reduction, since scenarios which would once have required potentially complex dodging become a simple button press

But I think if the game hasn't some "dash upgrade" like this, I would probably think that the dash is less useful as you progress in the game. Also I agree that it's not something particularily "fun", but just "useful for some things"

i think she'll probably get some Iframes ability like descending dark in HK because she got so little Iframes it would be pretty hard to get out of some situation otherwise
like the Knight can pretty easily damage burst out of alot of enemies but as in the demo hornet got way less Iframes

yeah like when you get "combo", its would be really annoying if you get hit into another enemy then into spikes for like 3dmg while you cant do anything, it only rarely happen if you really cant find a safe spot during the 1.3 sec of invincibility but if you get way less time im sure it will be way more likely to get hit multiple time in a row without being able to do much
