as we have seen in the past few years, silksong has lore (unlike hollow knight, it was confirmed it had no lore by the devs)

The main story obviously focuses around weavers and their tragic story of going to one kingdom, discovering fucking scp 001 ruled the place and rushed away before it was too late, some died, some became an animation known as "spider.mage_01" or some shit like that i honestly forgot.

hornet casually gets kidnapped because, like the weavers, she can produce silk.
Now of course one questions why silk is needed but i think its pretty clear that its used to control or at least influence the actions of creatures in pharloom by some higher power.
It can also create seals of binding that are seen on bells.

After a careful reading of pharloom's folly, i came to my conclusion that weavers and the song are very closely connected.
Its called the silk-song after all.
But what good orchestra doesn't have a conductor?
Enter Romino, which i believe will be seen in the story as a weaver.
In my opinion, he will play a huge part in the story, referencing how the weavers will rise back from the ground and reconquer pharloom, reforming it to its glory; as they were kept in servitude.

Lace wants to prevent more weavers from being captured and fuel whatever wicked system the servant weavers are already part of.
The main motive of whoever or whatever is behind controlling the silk song that haunts the kingdom is unknown.
Bells are seen as a way to dispel the curse, but they could be simple religious symbols.
The first theory is more likely and is supported by the seals of binding on the "song shrines".
