I think it depends on the quest. Gather quests it would make sense for Hornet to have the items on hand sometimes. But finding a grand beast is a bit of a different story. If they hide them well, I would be ok with it. But if you just ran into them through natural exploring, that might not be as fun

So far I've played Hollow Knight, Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, Unworthy and some of Super Metroid and I've liked them all to varying degrees. If you haven't played it, I would recommend Unworthy. It's a great little Metroidvania that managed to scratch that HK itch for some time for me.
