so i messaged about this a day or so ago... i'm on 1.4.3.2 using mods (custom knight, QoL, randomizer 3 + randomizer map mod), every time i sit down to play for the first time in a day it crashes any time i walk through transitions. I can usually fix this by just verifying files and re-downloading mods but I have to do it like 7 times before the game will stop crashing. can anyone help me with this?

Extract the installer you downloaded to your desktop, then open it.
Download the following mods:

Randomiser 3
QoL
Benchwarp

Vasi

Once you do this simply start a new game and you'll be playing Rando. Do not open an old save with Rando installed. Do not open a Rando save without it installed.

im having a tough time getting mods to work, after a bunch of reinstalling i've got to the point where hollow knight launchs 1.4.3.2 on mac without any issues, i've also installed modinstaller 2 and selected mods, and the game still launchs but the mod isn't loaded. Using mac after catalina, if that effects anything, i've gone through a bunch of the debugging stuff in this channel but nothing seems to be working, if anyone could help that'd be great

Step 1: Head to your saves folder below, and copy "user1.dat" somewhere on your computer. You can make a folder in your saves folder called "backups" and put it there if you want.
Step 2: Head to the pinned messages and read how to downpatch your game. Third-ish message.

Step 4: Get the following mods:

ok i have a problem, im going to go through everything i did with mods: i installed scarab to do multiplayer with a friend, then i installed modinstaller 1 after having disbled all mods on scarab, and it worked perfectly, i played on modinstaller 1 for a while, then had to uninstall steam for some reason, after i reinstalled steam and hollow knight, and it worked fine i just had to reinstall all the mods i had, but it worked and i could play my rando, but when i started hk the next day (with mods) after having closed the game, it wouldent show the modding api, the save files wouldent load, and when i went in the mod settings there was nothing there and i couldent leave the mod settings because pressing back or esc didint do anything so i had to close hollow knight, then i just uninstalled hollow knight, all the mods i had, and all the the modinstallers i had. and then reinstalled hollow knight and played and i worked like hollow knight without mods, then i tried installing mods and it just did the same thing as before. idk what is happening but if someone knows could you help me?

You can change the cost of charms using More Saves on 1.5. If you're on 1.4 you'll need to go through the save editing process.

You can randomise the cost of them using Randomiser 3.

so I have two different folder with two different hollow knight, this was made for have one hollow knight with some mod and another one with some other (like in one i use debug mod, in the other I don't use it but I use the hat mod). It changed in 1.5 from how it was in 1432, because of newer modding menus.
So if you were watching a video of someone playing the older version, then you were probably looking for something else.

If you want to mod, you should be on the most recent patch, unless you want to use Randomiser, in which case you need to be on patch 1432
