i installed mthe mod installer form the link on the discord, selected my right install folder for hollow knight it open, spit something out about "not being the latest version" despite me doing a fresh install of hollow knight before attempting to setup the mod installer

Unfortunately not, there is a small hope. Recently someone posted a message explaining how to mod the xbox gamepass version, it might work for microsoft store, however the method is new-ish and not well tested to my knowledge, you may not be able to get help with it, and it may cause problems

im trying to reinstall mods after uninstalling and reinstalling the game (bc of the windowed mode glitch where its stuck in fullscreen) and my game was reinstalled in a different folder than it was originally, but the modinstaller still thinks its in the original file. ive done pretty much everything in the pins, (uninstalling the modinstaller and reinstalling, verifying the integrity of game files, running the modinstaller as admin, ect.) but whenever i reopen the installer, all of the mods i had already installed previously are preinstalled, and i dont get the promp to show the installer where my game install location is, is there a way to fix this?

I need some help installing the randomizer mod. I don't really know what im doing but i tried my best. I went to the google drive with all the mods and downloaded the two things in the serena firzen randomizer folder. Then i extracted both to a mods folder i made in the hollow knight files. When i open the game it doesn't say randomizer down the bottom of the main menu screen like it says it should. I really suck at this stuff so i would much appreciate some help : )

Well first, why not use the installer? And second, you also need the modding api, which has a slightly different install method, and just installing rando 3 wouldn't work, it has several dependencies

custom knight, QoL... plz explain what an os is, which in game settings? if you mean for mods, all that is listed is custom skins and those are on. It crashes usually within 2-3 minutes. I'm usually just playing somewhere in kingdom's pass, dirtmouth, or forgotten crossroads, usually walking. The crash is basically the game quitting and my mac saying "the game quit unexpectedly"

but before adding the api back, you should try just running the game without mods for a few minutes

It's not a direct upgrade to mod installer 1, it's pretty much the same, with a different ui, different backend stuff, and some pros and cons, main thing is it works better for mac

That's because it has a different install method

If you open the folder you'll see that it has several layers of folders, you can go to the bottom and just put the actual skin part in your custom knight folder, or I believe it has a couple extra things that you would need to place in a different folder

ok so, let me say this. I have tried almost everything. I did the stuff in PINS, I uninstalled both hollowknight and modinstaller and reinstalled both, HK in a diff library to see if it helps, and NOTHING WORKS. Game runs fine without mods, but when I launch modinstaller it doesnt even load the mods and the saves are blank and I can't play. I am in the right patch for modded until the modinstaller updates as well so I don't know what else to do. Any thoughts?

Hello! I seem to have a problem with the installer, whenever i try to open up hollow knight, it gives me an unity error, i verified the files a few times and it always brings up that a file is missing, so i try to install mod installer again, and the same problem happens

Hello ! so I have an issue , I god home during fight in the hall of gods , my game freeze and I have to close it forcefully , this happen randomly in the time the game runs , it started since I got my new xbox controller ? also my PC isn't the problem , I stress tested in on witcher 3 and Star Citizen during hours while also streaming no issue

the game isn't modded but maybe you have knowledge ( It was modded but I deleted all files and reinstalled and the issue persisted )

The globalsettings file for the mod allows you to adjust scale for regular bars and boss bars, so you can probably set the scale of the regular bars to 0

None are "in the mod", you have to manually install skins. The two drives in that message are a collection of most the publically available ones, there are other skins, if you want to find em I suggest youtube, pretty sure a couple people make skin showcases
