i have the same problem when i down grade to 1.4.3.2, if your hollow knight is on that version thats most likely the reason, it for some reason only happens to mac, switch it back to none and hollow knight will open. or maybe not, hopefully your game opens

Hey guys i'm getting an error messege each time i try to start my game up after installing mod common and the modding api. It says the game crashed due to an error. Me and a friend are trying to play the multiplayer mod with cracked versions since we didn't feel like buying the game a second time on pc incase that helps.

So I'm trying to install the randomizer mod because it looked fun, but when I tried to download it, a message popped up saying, "This installer requires the most recent stable version to run. Please update your game to current stable patch and then try again." I'm quite sure I'm on the latest version of hollow knight so I don't know what to do. Does anyone know how to fix this?

You set up the skin’s folder wrong

This is very common with daughter of hallownest since it changes more than what CustomKnight allows, changing the game’s files along with using CustomKnight

#

Find the hollow_knight_Data folder inside the daughter of hallownest files, copy the files in it, then paste them in your hollow_knight_Data folder in your hollow knight installation, when prompted, replace the conflicting files

Do you mean when you click the box left of "Enabled?" it crashes?

That's probably because you're actually disabling the mod when you click there. Just don't disable mods and only uninstall them. If you want to fix the problem navigate to your Mods folder and create a new folder called Disabled inside it

I've been playing around with randomizer, and I have been having a problem. I keep trying to turn off the "duplicate major items" option, but every time i start a game, it just duplicates them anyway. Is this a glitch, or am i doing something wrong?

If you want to use saves from extra pages without moresaves then go to your save files folder, make backups of user1.dat, user2.dat, user3.dat, and user4.dat (the numbers correspond to the save file number, 1-4 is the first page), then rename user#.dat where # is the page number * 4 - 4 + the save slot number (1-4 going from top to bottom) to user#.dat where # is a save slot on the first page

Okay I'm having some trouble with mod installer. It wasn't working I assume because of the update so I reinstalled it and also reverted back to the last version of the game because the guide I was using said to. If you go all the way down in speed and go to 1.0 its not actually at 1.0 but at like 1.25 so you have to go all the way up and then go down to 1.0 for it to actually be 1.0 speed if that makes sense

Uh, I've never seen half those mods. Also those failed to loads are because you're missing a dependency, I can't tell you which one since i don't know what those mods are, but here's a list of dependencies I know of: SereCore (also called SeanPrCore but Sere is the right version), Vasi, ModCommon, FrogCore, and SFCore.

I don't really know those games. I personally would say that the experience is best without mods, but if you're going for a Vanilla style playthrough then, EnemyHPBars and CustomKnight (skins for the main character) are nice and don't change much but are just quality of life. And if you want you can try Easy Mode, but that ones a bit buggy

Uh, I'm not sure this is the right channel but I also don't know where else to send you. Did you make sure that you drew the sprite in the right spot, some of them are strangely offset, perhaps overlay your sheet with the original sheet and make sure they're all kinda lined up?

The images/sprites of hollow knight aren't just stored in a way that you can just go quickly edit them for your copy.
That being said, mods to exist (like Custom Knight) that allow you to replace sprites.

Here's a test build of CustomKnight that actually includes this as a feature: #archived-modding-development message

yea, the test build of customknight is one, but you have to precisely tell it which enemies to replace the new skin with afaik
and my one, with no current build being there for 1432 (for now, until i get back from work probably), where you can edit dumped sprites and don't have to tell it precisely which to replace

Hey i tried downloading the mod installer but when i opened it just said that it didnt have permission to the hollow knight folder. Btw the path its showing is not the hollow knight i installed. I got this pc a couple weeks ago and it turns out the person that owned this pc before me saved the path to it or something. (I did wipe the entire pc when i got it). Anyways it doesnt allow me to download mods. Does anyone know something about this?
