go to your game files and delete everything
go to you saves and (after making a backup of only your userX.bak's (x being save number)) delete everything
restart your pc, not shut down but restart

then try again and see if it works, first on a new save

You try without, but that really depends on your system. Administrator will always allow the installer to get around some basic permissions that may prevent it from writing files correctly.

So, I guess, try as non-Administrator, and if your system setup makes that not work, then just check the "always open as Admin" option

Some boss-triggered events don't happen with Enemy Randomizer. You can save edit if you want; but that's also why debug is encouraged to be used with it (and iirc noclip is built-in).

Discord Rich Presence has been linked in #modding-discussion a few times the last two days. I don't easily have a link to it right now though.

so i started a new save i did the whole kings pass and sat at the dirthmouth bench, at this point the game always saves but not after that. i had 4 geo and i walked all the way to the hotspring bench sat on it. after that i bench warped to the dirthmouth bench got off it and sat down again. at this point i had 11 geo. i tred to press exit to main menu but it wouldnt allow it so i closed it manually. when i loaded the save up again i was still at the dirthmouth bench with 4 geo and 1 minute playtime. i dont thimk it worked

I've been having a glitch with my controller, and One of the soultions was to connect it in the main menu was to connect it on the main menu. My controller is wireless, so I need the bluetooth screen open to connect it. For some reason the option to clos fullscreen mode isn't letting me click it.

ModdingAPI (the things that auto-installs when you launch ModInstaller, and is required for mods) messes up controllers for some people, for some reason.

Common things to try:
small_blue_diamondIn my case, I had to use Steam's Big Picture Mode to "Force Controller" in the settings for Hollow Knight. With this solution, I have to have my controller plugged in before I launch Hollow Knight, otherwise steam doesn't do its thing.

small_blue_diamondIn some cases, waiting to plug in the controller until after you get into the Main Menu makes it work.

small_blue_diamondIn some cases, using a program (such as Steam's Big Picture, or Joy2Key, or similar) to remap all of the controller buttons to act as Keyboard inputs fixes it.

Assuming you're on Windows, you may also want to toggle "Native Controller Input" in Hollow Knight's settings (in the Main Menu, Settings, Controller settings). If it's ON, then turn it OFF (and vice versa). That may also fix it (that was another problem I had at least).

It will create the seed as normal, and then place them randomly in the world. Items that are replaced appear in shops

basically, i was installing the new installer, the thing that is pinned. and when i placed it in the folder where the original one was, its fucked with my mods. so i attempted to manually delete the mods from the HK folder in steamapps>common, and then verified the files integrity on steam to get back to the base game.

okay, let me put it like this, I installed the new mod manager through the pinned link, i deleted the old mod manager, the new mod manager wasn't registering the mods i already had installed, so i manually deleted them. this created issues such as all of my knight textures becoming white squares because one of the mods i had installed was the custom knight. i then went through steam to check the integrety of the game files and now have it back to a vanilla setting but the mods remain in my hollow knight folder.

I have HK on switch and ps4 and have been trying to find a way to play randomized on either of those (which seems impossible). I could pirate it for Mac but from what I am seeing people say you need a legit copy to run mods on PC or Mac is that true? it allows you to easily edit your saves

#

so download that, run the save file, quit the game open the saves file location, open the corresponding .json file and find the charm which you want to reduce to 0 and change the Charmcost value to 0. the ids for the charms can be found in the pins
