so in 1.2.2.1 the version everyone speedruns mouse buttons dont work. so i got this blue.exe from the speedrunning server and it replaces m1 and m2. when i play hollow knight i use m1 m2 and m3. do i just have to bind all 3 to keyboard buttons or is there a way to make it to where i can use my mouse just fine on 1.2.2.1

If you're using steam go to your game library, right click HK -> properties -> there should be a box down the bottom called launch options, type "-popupwindow" in there.
Launches the game in borderless fullscreen which should allow livesplit to remain on top

By default livesplit compares against your PB so if you haven't finished a run it has nothing to compare against. You can change it to compare against something else or even add times to compare against if you like

I downloaded a complete godhome save from speedrun.com for p5 practice and I cant figure out how to add it to my game. I tried just dropping it in the file with the rest of my saves but that didnt work so I tried deleting my user#.dat file and renaming the downloaded save to match but when I boot up the game it just says that my save was corrupted. can anyone help?

it's been done but it's much, much, much harder and more inconsistent than on other patches i.e. 1432

i would need a video for proof, because i have gone in frame by frame. i go one frame right, then hold left and swing so that the nail is out for one frame, then the next frame it hits the elder baldur and that is always the first frame that the elder baldur is invincible.
and the nail hitbox never changes with respect to the knight, so that isnt the issue
i know for a fact that it can be done if you also have dreamshield
since dreamshield can hit if you slash. then the invincibility is delayed until hitstun is over and in that time the nail can land.

Like it requires some good fundamental hk skills and all of the glitched movement/tech on top of that

Yes, but you have to do it the frame you leave the ledge you're dropping off, you cannot just do it mid air.
Hard, but you can figure it out. There's only a couple that are still really worth going for on any% current patch. The ones when you come down the gruzzer room in crossroads, Lurien elevator drop, and probably the room before Queen's Gardens arena, or before Deepnest hot springs bench if you're going that way instead.

I probably should have realized that, with 2h left, I had way more than enough time to grab monarch and/or a nail upgrade but was too stubborn to beat him without it.

My main file was on p3 before I took a break to try some of the achievements, but I plan to! I actually took that file back to black egg, equipped the same charms and a bunch of blue hearts, and practiced THK for a bit just to feel out his moves.
I watch fireborn, vys and others do thk any% and can't even begin to fathom how they stay so aggressive

It's just practice, lots of practice.
You have enough time to go around collecting upgrades if you managed to get to thk in three hours - next time, perhaps, even earlier. Once you learn how to beat it, you can just raise your damage as much as you can.

In general yes but it's 1221 focused so there will be several things that are different or not possible on CP. Epogo is very different, as are inventory drops. Lever skips are impossible.

Any% All Bindings was never very popular because of no route differences from any% just a little less damage, and I wasn't able to find a recorded run of it. On 1221 Shriek has some dodgy hitbox stuff which makes it not great against lots of stuff. That was changed on CP so you're more likely to do the damage you need.

not really a speedrun question, but which is the fastest way to climb a wall?
I've seen a tas doing some combination of jumps and double jumps but I can't seem to replicate it and I haven't seen any actual human doing it so I assume it's not really possible

if its a completely flat wall its wall jumps as quick as possible

Switch has its own leaderboards, so you can run on whatever you want. It is generally easier to do better on PC, but fewer people run on switch because it's harder, so you can probably get a higher place.
Either way, you can run on literally any platform.

The hitbox for when you start swimming in acid and the one for when you take damage are separate things
Well the trick is to go lower than you think you should and charge Crystal Dash later than you think
If you go to high than you won't be able to charge C-dash
