i find the first route you learn tends to be the longest, you start picking up patterns pretty quickly

yea there are like two or three main ways for the game to start out and you just need to remember like some small things like picking up soul catcher or not

all variations have patterns too, for instance early crossroad stags basically the same geo to pick up

most categories do vk or moss knights, which you only need to learn once

cpeak rooms the same on almost every category

stuff like that

because you're starting with 112, you'll have translatable knowledge to every category, for instance you already know white palace for te, you're just starting with a lot of niche knowledge so its going to take a minute

Theres variances in cpeaks for cp and 1221, and theres also 2 different setups for fast cycle in cheart room. one that damages and one damageless

@steady lynx yeah I've gotten shake storage after False Knight several times. I've also gotten inventory storage, float glitch, upside down hornet 1, invisible THK... Think that's it. It's a buggy game even on current patch lol. I don't think any of those invalidate the run except maybe inventory storage, and you can just exit out of that. Could be wrong on the rules though

is there any like better way to increase consistency in tricks (epogo, vk quick kill, etc) than just repetition? i feel like i do them pretty consistently in practice but as soon as i do a run i seem to choke them super hard

hmm it might also have to do with the fact that my game refuses to run at a decent framerate while recording

there are strats with having less than 1 fps, but outside of spelless, and cp epogo theres not a reason to want 60 fps, and in those cases you turn on and off vsync to avoid playing with that low of framerate

also less than 1 fps strats are this really dark grey area that will be unlikely to be implemented in runs

But basically it sounds like your using Intel graphics for encoding, and that doesn't sound like it's ever gonna work bc that's laptop integrated graphics, and hk is already horribly programmed in terms of performance without that

mouse isn't used much mostly bc it's not the default and you need extra mouse buttons for it to be viable

if you find it easier you should use it

The problem with mouse is that you need an entire hand for just two buttons, so unless you have extra mouse buttons, it isn't usually worth it
