wanted to ask something about any% current patch nmg. how long did you practice inventory drops? I just started learning the normal any% nmg and I'm not sure if learning inventory drops will be too difficult for me if I decide to switch to current patch

it's really not worth practicing inventory drops much/at all imo, they don't save much time. Just go for a few of them per run and you'll get a feel for it pretty quick

Hello! I'm sorry, if this problem was already asked about, but still couldn't find any info.
Preconditions: I play on PC, mouse + keyboard. My controls are reassigned from defaults. Current patch.
Problem: I want to perform menu storage, but Esc button does not work in main menu at all. As far as I saw, it can be performed on current patch without downpatching. This looks like a 100% bug, because I also can not exit menu in which you select difficulty level in Godhome's statues (Attuned\Ascended\Radiant: only entering fight works).
Installing Quality of Life helps with fixing this issue, but I want to try speedrunning to leaderboards, and this mod, I think, will disqualify me. So two questions are:

1. have you ever ran into this bug with not working Esc button in some menus?
2. QoL will disqualify me even if I won't use anything except that Esc button?
   Additional question: is this glitch valid on current patch or I just trying to enter the closed gate?

Personally i've never run into this problem, but i'm sure someone else will give you advice on how to fix it. Potentially clearing registry shenanigans but also don't trust me on that one

And yes, having QoL would disqualify you on the regular leaderboards

Both QoL and the Modding API it hinges on change gameplay and game performance significantly

So for the regular leaderboards, no mods are allowed at all

There are some modded categories though, but they don't seem very popular

Okay so here's my checklist

1. Go into layout and make sure everything is set to "current comparison"

2. Double check right click menu that comparison is set to game time.

3. Make sure that the hollow knight you selected is from the drop down menu and not typed in.

4. Check auto splits (you did this)

5. Close livesplit and open it after the game and wait until the menu (1221 is fine on the controller recommended screen)

6. Run as administrator maybe if all else fails.

Thats all I got. It should be ONE of those issues. If its not then idk if we can help here.

So the stagger pattern is a 6 initial combo to stagger, and then 5-combos after that for each other stagger. After she throws needle, she staggers after a 5-combo, even though I'm hitting her while she's throwing her needle. So it probably does reset

@limpid ruin Double spike kill with the fancy new hitboxes shown. I was able to modify my jump to delay entering the spike aggro zone for as long as possible

watcher knights took me a while to learn, im confident now in my any% fight but i still die about half the time to low% watcher knights, its honestly quite the difficulty spike
