off brand xbox controllers may not work, i had this issue with my offbrand xb360 controller.
your options are:
Use something like JoyToKey to map controller inputs to keyboard
Use steam input handling to interpret your controller inputs to the game (note this requires tricking steam into believing 1221 is your main game install by renaming folders)
do some dark magic with xb360ce or something, i never got that to work but it should work in theory.

I remembered that my current working xbox controller is an on brand wireless one i connect via bluetooth. This one works fine right now. My last xbox controller was off brand.

But i got some problems with setting up LiveSplit, so i might be back. 😄

My thk fight was stupid good

And I survived it by the skin of my teeth

as for the performance issues, 1221 eats your inputs quite a bit occaisionally

1.2.2.1 can be unplayable for some people. If it's really bad then running on current patch is fine as they have their own leaderboards.
Otherwise if it feels different to play or eats inputs occasionally that's just how 1.2.2.1 is, it's an unoptimized patch.

The question is regarding the Kurosh strat on Absolute Radiance. I've seen many versions of it over time, and I was wondering if one was more effective than the other. Whether it's more efficient to not turn around, or to use more pogos than double jumps.

Because I've noticed people using it a lot more flexibly and cleanly than I am, and I was wondering if it had to do more with the rythm, the actual inputs, whether or not I turn around, that sort of stuff.

I'd say 2/3 of my greenpaths I heal, and half of those I heal a bunch

it all depends on how confident you are about being able to pb w/ a slower early game. most of us are more likely to reset early game if it's not good because you're putting yourself at a time disadvantage very early, and continuing the run takes time.

if you're just trying to finish runs, however, stopping to heal is completely respectable until you're more comfortable with the run as a whole

(and you should just be trying to finish runs at this point)

The heal is definitely for this, but he damage tanks twice I think, and has two unintentional hits where it looks like he goes for a dream nail and Uumuu comes a little too close.
