If you're having GPU issues, I'd advice against using the color key

Intel graphics tend to get a lot of performance increase from driver updates
I remember jumping dark souls fps from 12 to 30 on the laptop of a friend just by updating Intel hd drivers

Hello all, I have been trying out a few speedruns lately (very new to it) and I came across a glitch. When using the overcharged with fury and soul catcher in the beginning of a 112 run I got the charm notch in fungal wastes. I was at 1 hp (again I'm a beginner :)) and fury was active. When I got the notch my hp was filled but fury was still on. I still do fury damage

Just wanted to know if this was new and/or in violation of the no major glitches rule?

Shaman stone is good, but fury + strength + quick slash with purenail outshines it often.
Shade soul spam doesn't serve that much. Ddark will give you iframes, slower but better damage. Shriek will be a bit slower but substantially better damage. Shade soul does have its use against bosses that move far away or that are susceptible to doubles/triples, but it's far from a no brainer

btw @versed elbow, late response but i haven't seen a guide for it. Used fireb0rn's any% guide for common parts with any%, and notes from watching homothety's wr for the rest - can definitely share those if you want

I've been trying to practice parts of this game for a run but whenever i load a save i lose the ability to attack till i rebind the button, anyone know how to fix this?

1. Mouse bindings don't really work on patch 1221. Look in #resources for the fix-workaround
2. This glitch is called main menu storage and it's really easy to get if you spam your mouse in the menu 🙂

Something that is really important in boss fights or hard skips is just committing super hard

Have faith that the method works. You can watch somebody else do it, so it is possible. Don't think "If this doesn't work I'll need to do something else", that will make you fail.

This is something I had to drill into my head to get the harder stuff down. My times aren't great, but I'm really proud of them because I've managed to do that. Just assume the strat will work and you'll succeed way more often.

But also FWIW I still only kill Watchers 1/3 to 1/4 times with any% gear. It is hard.

If that's the case, it sounds like a registry issue, try clearing it (it will only get rid of local things such as local achievements and settings, but not steam achievements) using the guide on speedrun.com

imo current patch epogo is harder than qga, and saves a bit less time. However, qga also comes along with the whole of QG which will need a lot of extra practice too, so you'd probably get more out of the epogo practice

Yeah. Ive gotten sub 2 hours but my route was really weird in part because i had to get isma’s tear. So i beat false night get vs fight hornet. Grab shaman stone then mantis claw. Enter CoT with city crest. Get desolate dive sell lenn some relics beat dung defender. Always waste time getting geo for lantern. Get crystal heart, D dark, dream nail. Go back to waterways for tear. ~~Drop into basin for wings and ore. Get shade soul and Upgrade nail twice ~~ and then it just getting the dreamers and beating the game.

The other part is I probably get way more upgrades then they’re actually worth.

Also learning the dark room in crystal peak would be a huge time save because i could then wait till later to get lantern. But that also only matters when i get desolate dive so ehh.

honestly I find THK the most enjoyable fight out of all of any%, so I just practiced the heck out of it

this is just a practice speedrun for learning the route

im using debug mod for getting geo and also for save states

i don't think there is much else other than nail 1 that can make wk easier. The only other quick-ish solution is getting dash slash and get shade soul, but that's kinda out of the way

nail 0 with strength is weaker, more expensive and requires more notches

it would be way more valuable to do the super peach routs and get either shade soul or d-dark

nail 0 with fury is almost as strong as 1 nail upgrade

that's why fury strats exist on pantheons and runs that get fury

it's also free, costs 1 less notch, and overcharming actually helps you obtain the affect

If we're talking about Any%, you also go way out of your way to get it. The only 2 times you're ever in Fungal Wastes are Mantis Claw and if you don't use QGA to get to DeepNest which you won't pass it anyway.

The best choice is to grab 800g from places (False Knight, Moss Knights, potentially still get VK) and then grab Dash Slash and get Shade Soul.

If you're short on damage this is the best damage solution for its speed. If you're struggling like I did at first, you can get City Crest and FK Geo, then after getting claw you can city crest your way to Dive, go into Peaks for Crystal Heart and D-Dark, down for dream nail, then continue as normal.

I would basically suggest:

Normal route
Dash Slash for Shade Soul
D-Dark

As the three things you can try in order. Don't try for too much extra damage, you won't end up using it. There's no need to get both SS and DD. If you have D-Dark, you won't use SS almost at all.

and then the geo from watcher knights

and kill the golden dude

And egg from shade cloak is impossible without killing Hornet 2, which just makes it harder and longer

I only know the 1221 route, but the only differences between regular and "easy" are that you normally get Isma's Tear then Wings, but if you struggle with the skip you can get wings first then go back for Isma's
