Double Dash: Try to collect enough soul from enemies in the next room for one fireball at least. As you’re falling into the room, hug the left wall and dash as high as you can. This manipulates the position of the right mantis. Once you’re on the ground take a baby step before casting your fireball, then dash. After the dash, upslash the mantis. Hit the lever and dash back immediately. Pogo the left mantis, then dash right and pogo the right one. It sounds a lot more difficult than it is, but their movement is 100% consistent so it’s easy to figure out your mistakes.

Its a bit tricky however the main principle that people tend to mess up, is they use the focus button to cast spells.

Personally I find it helps to count for the jump at the end, i say a quick "1 2!" at the end which helps me get it more consistently

So i just got to it again, and upon entering i did a crystal dash across, just cuz i forgot that its an arena, and I sorta hit a platform funny, and half clipped into it, got stuck. got hit out of it, i dashed at i think almost the same time as i got hit, i went quite fast i felt, and the gate didnt close right away, i managed to stand partially in it and it pushed me through it, and also through the floor/roof, im not sure exactly i just saw only a few frames of my dude, then i died. but i made it through the gate without fighting

I would imagine you would want to find some actual speed runner, most of them have blue names above their head however if I'm correct that you found an out of bounds glitch in mantis lords I don't know which speedruns that would be useful for, nmg categories probably would ban the trick and you don't need to get to deepnest through mantis lords in any speedrun I know however I suck, and know practically nothing so there could be, plus this community is insane and probably already knows about a OOB at mantis lords and I just dont know, you probably should ask one of the higher level players about it

Hey, So i finally got the downpatched version, and it loaded up fine at first, going through the title menu, then new game, then it loaded the poem, and after i skip that cutscene of the poem its stuck on a black screen, no game audio, nothing.

if her movement looks too hard then just generally fireball when you have soul, nail hit when you don't. personally i hit his shield sideways, jump, sideslash while on my way up, then pogo twice while he's slashing

you get one from the next enemy that you pass by, the jumper one
so it's actually optimal to just do nail fireball into the flying one there
since you'd get full soul or 8/9 with it, then use your fireball right after

and I turned on the autosplit and put in all the splits there
but once I press ok it does nothing
