So Main menu storage can do a lot depending on the patch you play on.

On LP we generally just use it to start a file with godhpme equipment and getting noclip

On Older patches we can use it to benchwarp, room dupe and transfer items between files.

NMMS just uses all glitches exept MMS which is a lot more fun because the 5 min any% ag route isn't as enjoyable imo.

Shade skip has a very consistent setup
There's a specific spot on the wall where you can wall jump stall
The next movement is like this: wall jump stall - jump left - dash left - pogo shade - dash right - walljump

Once you spend like an hour or so practicing it, it becomes very consistent

Hello guys can anyone tell me the requirements for the blue lake shade skip like I'm really struggling in it

it can be done itemless, but you usually don’t gain anything from getting dream nail that early (unless it’s a challenge run)

it’s much easier and much more useful with claw and dash

Assuming Any%, hit the shade once, cling to the rightmost wall until the shade is close enough to:

• Jump.
• Left Dash.
• Pogo.
• Right Dash into the edge.
• Jump.
• Right Dash into Blue Lake

The hardest part is making sure you don't lose much height

For other categories where you don't have Dash + Claw yeah, the strats get quite crazier

as long as u press dash fast enough after each pogo it should always be faster than just holding sprint. pogo dashes are very easy to learn, a lot easier than neutral pogos imo, so it is smth u could learn pretty early on for some free timesave.

What sort of PB time should I have before I consider dropping the second needle upgrade from my any% runs?

I still really struggle with the final two bosses and particularly HHA without it, but can do them pretty consistently with it

i would say at the point at which you arent chain dying to late game stuff like hha u should already be considering skipping n2, because that means you are starting to get used to n2 combat and thats not ideal if u r considering skipping n2 down the road. so if u r serious about improving ur times u should seriously consider switching to n1 sooner rather than later, u really want to start building up practice with n1 before you become overly reliant on n2.

if u want concrete times, i would say around 1:20ish pb is when u want to start thinking about skipping n2, if u around 1:10 i would highly encourage skipping n2

ofc this is all subjective at the end of the day, u can start to skip n2 at whatever point u feel like, like if u have a 1:30 pb and want to skip n2, thats also great

livesplit is real time minus loads minus file select screen pauses for breaks. in game time is loads + when hornet is playable, so it removes bench/inventory/pause/main menu. also the thing about the end screen time being the last saved time, not the time at the end of the gms fight.

steam controller config only works for the main game on steam

it won't work for non steam games

if you want to use steam controller config on old versions, you can move the install into the same steam library folder, and rename the downpatch to Hollow Knight

that will fool steam into launching the downpatched version w/ controller support

you hold the direction you're going, then tap the opposite direction w/ the dpad to turnaround
