The general idea is, Diabetes happens when your body isn't able to take up sugar (glucose) into its cells and use it for energy. This results in a build up of extra sugar in your bloodstream. This is why diabetic patients have to keep monitoring there sugar, idk other types of sugars

The reduction in coupling is not significant, it's literally just hiding construction and initialization, leaving the rest of the API coupled
Fixing that would be a different task altogether
I could also see it being slightly better when it comes to things that have multiple implementations, such as database drivers. Instead of delegating the logic of figuring out which driver to use to the client, you just supply the common API via some interface, which acts as an adapter to an unlimited (and irrelevant to the client) amount of different drivers, which may be chosen via outside configuration, current needs or whatever else
Though again, that dips into another pattern, which is why I'm not a fan of discussing (or propping up, for that matter) design patterns in a vacuum. Most if not all of them are natural solutions that arise during development, and strictly discriminating between them and even specifically learning patterns feels... incredibly weird to me. I see it as mostly unnecessary sophistication and categorization of fairly simple and naturally-emerging concepts

spinlocks are just a really really simple way of ensuring that only one thread has access to a resource at a given time
it's the most simple form of doing it, and as the article says it's basically just a thread trying over and over again to unlock and use a resource and just burning up the CPU
