I think DRG may have an optimization problem when it comes to memory handling. Reason I say that is because on PS5, when there's swarms, my 120fps target drops to 80-90ish. But as the mission goes longer, the frames actually continue to decrease. Say I'm in my 3rd swarm about 20 minutes in, frame rate is about 40-50fps. It happens consistently. The bugs from previous swarms are obvious cleared, so fps shouldn't be getting progressively worse. Going down to 60 ish fps in high action is fine. But there's something going on when the mission gets longer. Even when there's no swarm, my fps stays at 60-70fps which then goes down to even 40fps when more swarms come. Can anyone else on PS5 vouch for this? What's been your experience?

my fps is 60 not 120. but i play on fidelity mostly. I just notice with battles such as dreadnaught my fps can dip to 30ish.

You can transfer your save from Xbox to PC because the Microsoft Store version on PC is the same as the Xbox version. They both use the Xbox network and Xbox Cloud Saves to allow you to "Play Anywhere."
Unfortunately, there is not a way to transfer your save to or from a PlayStation console at this time

I start a new job next Monday. Been unemployed for a couple months. I myself have played nothing but DRG since it came out. Personally I'm at half their play time, about 120 hours. To get the plat, that person is definitely playing either an unhealthy amount of time, or has more than 1 person playing that account.

I know what it is to no life a game, but yeah, for someone to already get the plat... They definitely don't have any other responsibilities 😂

21 days since game came out clocks my average at about 6 hours a day. 225 hours for them? Jesus.

I stumbled upon this by accident. So since the game is client side, you can "keep" a double xp mission as long as you either never leave the mission screen, or put your console in rest mode. What could be happening, is if a friend holds a double xp mission, you can finish yours. Then get invited to one, even if that mission isn't available anymore.

I had to take a break so I put my console in rest mode. I came back after some time, and was confused when I tried to join a refinery mission and there was only 1 choice. Some poor guy was 40 minutes into his. He was solo-ing it. I was able to join.

So what I had done, was access a mission that was already gone after refresh

But since my console was in rest mode and I stayed on mission screen, I was able to access an earlier mission.

So either he's doing that, or having people "hold" old double xp missions, which he joins for more double xp.

It'd be tedious to do that on a daily basis honestly. 🤷🏾‍♂️ But people will do anything for bragging rights I guess.

I'm rank 80 ish myself. I personally did see a rank 100 a couple days ago. Only way to be that high already is lots of double xp missions.

They’ll eat up your shield so take down the breeder fast

The numbers go up. Mainly the blue Player Level. There are some Assignments for cosmetic items that only become available at higher Player Levels than you can achieve by only promoting each dwarf once.
If you don't promote, the numbers stop going up (each dwarf hits level 25 and that's it)

they all have good uses. Cold as the grave lets you keep firing nonstop vs swarms. Hot bullets let’s you catch things on fire from any distance with enough heat. Aggressive venting triggers a 10m fear and fire proc that is extremely powerful and can def help when getting overwhelmed

That may be, but DRG is a "last gen" game, released when those consoles were the only thing available. It came out in early access two and a half years prior to the PS5 and Xbox Series X, and it released 1.0 half a year before the new consoles. It's a PS4-era game. The reason it runs better on a PS5 is because, like any PC software, if you allow it to run on more powerful hardware, it'll perform better

The devs have said they might revisit Unions at some point in the future, but there's no announced plans at this time. Unions are currently only available on the Steam version, and they don't really do anything besides give you a few extra Credits and Minerals about once a month or so. They exist as a kind of test implementation, but the devs might be able to do more with them in the future. We're certainly not missing out on much of anything by not having them

No, there's not always additional activities in every mission. There is a chance for them to spawn when the mission is generated, and for the most part each different activity has its own chance to spawn, so you can get missions with nothing extra, or missions where there are several extra activities

Presumably, you could probably have a mission with one of everything in it, but the odds of that must be astronomically low

There hasn't been an major update to Steam since the PlayStation launch, so we can't look at what's happened before specifically regarding PlayStation, but I'm assuming that the devs are intending to stick with the same plan that they have with the Xbox version: release on Steam, tackle the major issues, then release the other versions.
This has (often, but definitely not always) resulted in an update to non-Steam versions arriving about 2 weeks after Steam, but ultimately it's released as soon as it's ready. No real way to know for certain, and it has taken longer before, but, unless it's otherwise specified by the devs, it's reasonably safe to assume the plan is about 2 weeks after Steam

People can cheat on consoles. There's been a few mentions here of people spotting impossible levels. No idea why anyone would go through the trouble to play a game they clearly don't want to play, but at least cheating at levels doesn't make anything worse for others

Thanks for the info. I had assumed that Microsoft had their own vetting process regarding updates and that's why it took longer, but it makes sense that it's easier to ship updates to steam in general

That's exactly it, 100%. It's easier to do rapid updates as needed on Steam (and it provides som useful flexibility) AND Microsoft has a certification process that adds at least a few hours to any update. Add a little time for making the changes on the different versions and testing to make sure everything at least seems good to go, and you get that roughly two-weeks-after target. But it's only a target; the devs will get it out as soon as it's ready

I know the team has grown a bit over the years, and I am assuming they're in a good position to at least plan on continuing that two-week target even while adding new platforms

Patches/hotfixes have always been as needed and as quick as possible. Major updates are usually planned and announced for a general target time frame, but the exact release date is only announced once the devs are pretty sure they can make that date. New "seasons" seem to be the plan going forward for now as the major updates, with each season currently planned to last 4 or 5 months or so.

I'm not sure if it's the benefit of more time for development (which is absolutely a benefit), or the idea of giving players enough time with a Season to complete a lot of it and have fun with it. I think it can be a tough thing to balance. Too short a season, and folks are grumpy they didn't get to spend time with it. Too long, and folks get bored. Some will want it quicker as they can spend more time with a game, but not everyone has that opportunity or desire. It must be hard to figure out. And as this is still only the first season, I wouldn't be surprised if the update/season times get adjusted following feedback or the devs' observations

Yeah, that's the kind of thing they'll work on when they can, the best they can. It will likely come as a patch if it's going to be a while before a major update, but if it's close to a major update, they'll often roll it up into the update

I think they did okay catering to both groups. The drip feed of season challenges and xp keeps most people working through that grid for quite a while, even while more casual players can get quick rewards with a few data cubes here and there

And the beautiful thing about the seasons is they're free, and everything you do not get a chance to collect while the season is active will be collectable in-mission from things like the Lost Packs and Cargo Crates, or potentially in other fun new ways the devs have yet to talk about. So you can't really miss out on the collectibles, even if you miss the season. I think it's a great way to do it

It is and it isnt a grind. It's really a patience thing, once you get to Overclocks. You can't grind to get more of them more quickly

The meta for haz 5 is sticky fuel crispr, the mod build is 2322x I believe. Whatever buffs your sticky flame is what you want.
With this build you just shoot a small line of fire in front of you and the bugs will kill themselves while you do something else

It does, and I think it's more fun than sticky bc I like melting faces. Sticky has the benefit of letting you turn your attention elsewhere while still killing everything

Sticky is also very ammo efficient for the entire team

You can claim rewards in the season terminal on the spacerig whenever you go up a lvl in the performance pass.
