I've restarted the game like 4x this evening and it still only shows one lobby for the mission I wanna do, and then won't let me join, and if i go to the full lobby list it just shows that one mission again.

There are no servers for DRG; everything is peer-to-peer with the connections established entirely by the PlayStation network. Hence why if PSN is having trouble, no one is reliably playing DRG in multiplayer

Thx, i managed to fix it by switching to a wi-fi connection instead of a lan cable. No clue why that does work because i never had a problem before. Turned everything off and on again and switched ports around but nothing worked except wi-fi for some damn reason 😵‍💫

In my 200+ hours of gameplay only now I discovered they can grab you

They simply don't die because of their stupidly durable armor, their grab is far more threatening than any other bug's projectile, and I can't distinguish them from the rest of the horde that easily

Their grab has the capacity to instakill you if they were 20 ft above you (fall damage) and even if they're on even ground, getting grabbed into a horde of bugs does a hefty chunk of your health, and you best hope dash is off cooldown if there was a slasher in there

Deep dives between console and steam are the same in terms of objectives but the variance is really just around cave size usually. On console we aren't able to generate as massive caves as on PC but that's it. Tho that obviously can have downstream effects since a smaller version of a cave may lead to variances on where objectives spawn

Quick summary is to switch your Internet connection type. Aka if you're using WiFi, connect your console system directly via Ethernet instead. And if you're using Ethernet, switch to Wi-Fi instead.

I had the same issue while using Ethernet and this worked for me. So now I switch to Wi-Fi mode when I play DRG (I switch back to Ethernet for all my other games tho)

@queen hawk Hi you told me to ping you here. Joining always fails.
[[ so my friends and I are trying desperately to play together and we get only failed to joins. Details :
when they try to join my session they are stuck in a Loading screen try to connect for about 1-3 minutes before the message failed to connect pops up.
Also we tried joining over the friend list from ps and also over making a password protected session to join over the game which all had the same Issue.
We looked up the problem and tried: restarting router. disbanding the team in game before inviting/joining. Trying different privacy settings making the game public etc.
one is connected over ethernet but 2 over wifi and nothing works.
We all have PS plus for the internet services. all have a ps5. everything is updated. Also joining other peoples session fails.
We don't know what to do anymore and are really frustrated. The other 2 were able to play together before the Oktoberfest update one time. But never since then.
And sadly the standart routers don't allow for specific settings for portforwarding etc nowdays (empower the user heh ... ) . And we all live nereby as we all are in Germany. So If you could help or point us in the right direction that would be awesome 👍 ]]

As for the only known workaround, it is not guaranteed to work but usually did the job. Tho some of the players lately have reported it's not as consistent/reliable since oktoberfest. So far it still fixes my connection issue on PS5. Essentially y'all should try switching your connection type (aka the wired players should switch to Wi-Fi, the Wi-Fi players should switch to Ethernet). You'll only need to do this when playing DRG which means you can switch back to your normal connection method for other games

Yeah im feeling no difference when switching from LAN to wifi.

When i get stuck in a infinite load i hit cancel which puts me back in the bedroom.
Then i cant join any lobby because of a infinitely stacking error message called "UNKN" or something.

Then i open the menu and select Disband Team.

After that it usually works again. Still silly because it happends a lot.

So if you cancel, hit the PlayStation button. If you see yourself in a party with the game that you actually did enjoy, you won't be able to join until you manage a disconnect from that party. You can't do it manually, you have to actually exit the game or wait about 5 minutes for the game to figure out that you're not in that party

Does anyone know how pheromones effect Dwarves? I've seen it can happen, if scout throws a canister of it on a teammate or if a dreadnought shoots his swarmer spit attack and you get hit by it. I can't see any changes or effects it causes though, other than the slightly reduced vision from the aura around your screen.

I meant that most players I run into on PS don't really communicate or play as a team. Hitting "R" takes like 1.2s but no one does it. It just doesn't feel as good as the PC crowd, might just be because on average the playerbase is a bit younger than PC

It doesn't add much for DRG I guess but in games like Aliens fire team, the discord party function is a godsend for lfg.. hopeful it will one day have similar impact here but I think it matters for aliens more bc the game is crossplay so it solves a huge gap

Deep Rock Galactic doesn't use servers for gameplay. All connections are peer-to-peer and they use each platform's own network to connect players together. Since the platforms' networks are not designed to talk to each other, there's no way for players on other platforms to be connected to each other.

Also, the Steam version has some significant differences that render it inherently incompatible with the console versions. It is highly unlikely the Steam version could ever be able to do cross-platform because of these differences.

You cannot, unfortunately. The Steam version has no crossplay capability whatsoever. The confusion likely comes from the fact that the Xbox console version and the Microsoft Store on PC version can play together since they both use the Xbox network to connect people via their Xbox accounts.

Hey people, I have a game breaking issue regarding Deep Rock on PS5 and would like to ask about it. I've been playing deep rock galactic on my PS5 for about a month now without any issue. Menus load fast, I could join friends and games and I never had on start crashes. However, about one or so weeks ago, 9/10 times deep rock crashes on launch. When it does work the few times, it is near impossible for me to join friends, and when I do, it takes easily 3-5 minutes. My friends has a 0% success rate of joining my lobby. Party chat also then takes ages to join, and often my PS5 says I cannot join due to network issues. However this ONLY happens with deep rock galactic. No other multiplayer or singleplayer PS5 game has had this issue. My internet has changes around this time, however we have 250mgb up and 65mgb down, and as said previously, these issues only occur within Deep Rock or after launching Deep Rock. I've attempted evry fix I could think of, like uninstall and reinstall (like 25 times), clearing PS5 cache, starting in safe mode and running through all the fixes. I don't have access to LAN but as said previously, the game ran just fine moments before. I am at a loss. It is a real shame because i loved playing this game but if I cant fix it, then I just won't be able to play anymore. If anyone has any idea for fixes, please let me know.

i would do some basic network trouble shooting. Games are not the same, and DRG runs on a P2P connection, and not a server. I cant remember the specifics, but someone else might be helpfull with a link to some things you can try in terms of your NAT ype, or what ports need to be open

I changed the connection type on my PS5 to 5G only and not automatic

so far(ive only had time to test this out once) it has worked like it did before my issues started

I will update you guys later tonight if this continues to work or if i need to go back tot he drawing board

Completely agree. The gunner is my main, and the ziplines are amazing, as is his sheild for rezzing downed allies. The Driller is by far the best for helping the team reach extraction, drill your way all the way to the drop pod. also his AOE attacks with flamer are great. Engineer is okay, but scout is a loaners class that does not help support the rest of the team at all, in fact most scouts I have played with don't even use their flare (Their only team based benefit) at all....

Also, tried the DRG Survivor on Steam and maaaan did they miss a trick with that, literally all the player does is move the character and choose upgrades, no control over the shooting or mining or anything else....such as diappointment 😦
