i have a question regarding hazard level, i'm just a beginner, like gunner level 15, and i think i can complete solo hazard 3. When am i supposed to be soloing hazard 4 and 5. So far i don't feel that talents or weapons attachements made me much stronger. Wait for first promotion ?

Honestly it's up to you. You can't access haz 5 yet, but feel free to try haz 4 whenever you like

It depends if you wanna play the game in a chill way or you prefer a challenge. Though if you can, I suggest trying multiplayer. This game is much more fun that way

i did try but i think i got mostly carried by mates. Usually in coop games you have like a gearscore that gives you an idea how weak/strong you are. I can't get that feeling in drg.

DRG isn't like most games where it's about how high your level is. They don't even have scoreboards. A lot of people play it just to have fun. Most greybeards(more experienced players) actually like carrying greenbeards (new players) cause they just want you to enjoy the game and keep playing

Hazard difficulty are just skill tests. There are videos from content creators that have done Haz 5 with various types of challenges. ( No OCs, no skills, no Bosco [a mod for steam afaik])

If you know what you're doing, then you should be able to complete the mission.

If it's easier for you, you can ask in #lfg-playstation and play with someone with a mic so it's easier to communicate. But for the most part on console most of the time don't do things unless you point them out first to make sure everyone is ready and rock and stone to say yes if someone else pings an objective. Some people get angry if you just do things without asking

If you're finding that you're missing call-outs, pings, or even gasps of death a teammate shouts after getting leeched. You might try turning the music down or even off.

It is completely possible and very common to complete missions without a mic. Just pings and ROCK and STONE.

Use gemini turrets with fast deploy as tier 2 so you can move them around easily and put them down in the middle of a swarm or boss fight

Takes 2 seconds to build and you can move one at a time to still have some coverage

They’re one of the most important roles engineer has because swarmers, naedocytes and shredders are the devil and can keep teammates from regenerating their shields or make them waste a lot of ammo to hit small targets

Engi can burn through ammo faster than any other class so the turrets are important for not needing to double dip too

Shoot plats a bit lower than nitra veins so scout has more room and use them whenever you see nitra/morkite/fossils etc high up and ping it

There’s a similar role to driller in shaping the terrain to make it easier to deal with so you can use plats to make staircases instead of drilling one up, and plats are good for flattening out areas with craters

Just jump in, tons of open lobbies to jump into. The Deep Dives however are not too active during certain times so you might need to find a few people to group up with before you go on those. Also not many people talk with a mic

If you have a ps5 they developped a feature that shows how much you've progressed for a trophy. Like in DRG i have 2/10 bittergems. It's exclusive to ps5 games and not all of them use that feature but DRG does, except this trophy apparently.

but some people have numbers like 1500/3600 attached to Happy Feet, so at some point the game was able to track how much time you spent dancing.

R&S to the soldier I just braved the Low O2 Hollow Bough with for morkite, only for us both to be suffocated by Molly’s neglect during extraction

Molly remains possibly the biggest threat, because you never know exactly when she's going to betray you. Those Morkite runs with Low O2 are particularly tricky; it helps a ton to plan ahead for extraction, usually by calling down resupply pods at strategic intervals to assist you on your run to the drop pod

i advise you to watch tutorials, they help a ton. I'll link some but i would also like to give you some tips right now

be a team player, cooperate to achieve things better and faster
call resupply pods (wich can be called when you have at least 80 of nitra DEPOSITED, not in your mineral bags) only when needed. Nitra isn't infinite.
have fun: drg isn't a competitive game and the community id pretty chill, perhaps especially here on PS. The closest thing to competitive is deep dives, wich are hard missions you can unlock by promoting a class at least once. So again, have fun!

I believe it's a PlayStation thing. That happens to me every now and then too.

I have to go to
Settings>Network>Test internet connection

A notification pops up saying "the features for ___ (whatever you were doing, YouTube, Hulu, DRG ect.) are currently unavailable and then it'll still say that you have good upload/download. Go back to what you were doing and it should work again.

No idea how to keep it from happening but hopefully this helps.

I've played on both ps4 and ps5(ps4 ver on ps5), can say there's noticable increases in frame rate (esp in big swarms, basically fps doesn't drop on ps5 where it can on ps4) and loading speed

but if you're playing with ps4 players, you have to wait for them to finish loading, or if you join a ps4 hosted room you have to wait longer there too, it's what that other person meant by you have to wait for ps4 players

it's very noticable when you get a room with only ps5 players (or are solo), load time is blazing

what I tend to do with emd on non defense missions (aka not salvage/doretta) is to only put one turret down normally, then if I'm moving and I hear/see bugs coming I quickly put down the 2nd and shoot it to zap everything around me. with quickbuild you can often get it built and not take too much damage from bugs before you electrify everything nearby

granted this is less useful at haz4+ where things hurt more unless you notice bugs farther away, but at 3 and below you can get away with a lot doing this

alternatively if it's not too far away just run back to your camp, or if you get too far away recall your turrets and set them down as you go, preferably in spots that look decent for defense

some extra effort, but that's the price you pay for the ridiculous power of emd

He can fly, go through walls, shoot bullets and rockets, has infinite ammo for both, obeys every command you give, can provide light at no cost, can mine resources if you don’t feel like it, can grab stuff like eggs and legs for you and finally he will revive you regardless of scenario should you go down.

You can’t download cloud save data without ps+ but if you didn’t have automatic backups then save data is stored separately from games afaik and you’d probably get your progress back if you redownloaded it

The cloud saves will stay up for at least 6 months after the subscription expires

And it’s about a 40mb file if you go through storage

From my experience when my ps+ ran out. After I got + again I still had my progress and unlocks.

I think you have to delete the file from the system
( Settings>System storage>Saved Data > Deep Rock Galactic> Player file )to loose your stuff if you don't have cloud storage.

These days, events are usually beginning and ending on the same days on all platforms, because GSG tries to get any updates required for the events out in advance of the start date. So, when the date arrives, all platforms start the event at the same time.
This is different from the Seasons, because the required updates are released when the Season starts (and console updates require certification by the platform makers, which inherently makes them take longer than Steam updates...)

driller is by far the best at robots in general given he has a flamethrower, after that I believe it varies by target

engie can shred patrol bots with fire hp, and that can be faster than driller if at range

Unless a game is either online only or has a heavy online component e.g. Hitman 3, Destiny 2, Fortnite, Genshin Impact, Call of Duty: Black Ops - Cold War etc. it's rare for games to have two-way cross-save on the PS5 so you can go to and from there, to the PS4. There are exceptions to the rule e.g. Nioh, Nioh 2, AC Valhalla but they are rare. I don't know if it's a Sony mandate or there's a technical reason why most games only have one-way cross-save from the PS4 to the PS5 but that's how it is :(. Two-way cross-save was common in the later years of the PS3 and Vita and into the middle years of the PS4 but it has virtually died out, now the PS5 is here.

I’d imagine it’s just children trying to have fun & don’t really understand what they’re doing. The same people typically kill few/no bugs and help very little with mining or the objective

I'm player lvl 234. Have all dwarves silver 3; I admit that I take a resupply stick even if I'm still pretty good on ammo.

The reason being is that in all instances that I left a stick in to get latter when I needed it. Someone would see it there and double dip. Leaving me with less than half Ammo or out of traversal tools until next resupply. So I make sure to claim my resupply stick wether I need it or not.

Can we expect crossplay anytime in the distant future? The steam community is so much larger than PlayStation, there are not many public matches going on in haz4 and 5. I love this game and want to keep playing it but I don’t enjoy playing solo :/

It's not impossible to overcome these limitations, but it would require considerable time and resources for a small team that is already constantly updating what is essentially 6 versions across 3 different platforms. I think expecting it would be a mistake...

I could be wrong in how everything is built and/or maintained, but given there are little differences between the hardware/software on each device and even between the versions of DRG on each hardware configuration, I assume that there are essentially 6 different versions that all have to be built. I'm not going to assume how much work this adds to maintaining and updating the various versions; the additional considerations might be trivial or might be not-insignificant, but I'd guess they're not completely 0

The Saves are profile locked and encrypted so even if you could account share someone else's, the game wouldn't recognise them anyway. Since you can't backup PS5 only saves to a USB drive, there's no way to take them off the system to hack them. Ultimately, your brother has no option but to start over from scratch, get PS Plus and learn to make frequent backups.

Some people are just weird like that and can't/won't play anything that doesn't stroke their oversized egos/epeen and shower them with undeserved praise for everything they do. DRG is fine as it is and doesn't need a pointless MP mode adding to it. I feel your pain on this, it really irritates me when people start demanding competitive crap be added to games that really don't need it. If you want something competitive to play, then pick COD or Fortnite instead.

The other issue is then you'd have to waste Dev time on balancing the classes against each other when they were built from the ground up to function as a team. Things like satchel charges and the platform gun would be impossible to balance for PVP.

18 hours does seem pretty soon to me, but it's hard when we're all excited for it. Two weeks ago they announced it'd be out on November 17th, so that is when the devs will send it off to Sony. Once it's sent off, it's usually only a short time until it becomes available to download

I'm not familiar, but I'd be surprised if PlayStation, or consoles in general, were harder to code than any other platform. There are a few changes, but I don't think it would be correct to sayit's harder.

The long answer is:
The devs are a relatively small team, developing every version in-house themselves. It's not that that work is harder, there's just a lot of it.

For the Steam version, the devs can simply release whenever they want and it's pretty much instantly available. It doesn't work this way with the console versions; they have to go through their respective platforms (Sony, Microsoft) for release. This slows down the release a little, but usually by only a few minutes or occasionally a few hours, but ultimately it's out of the devs hands once they submit the update to Sony/Microsoft.
If the update is particularly buggy or broken, it could be hours or days before a patch can be released on the consoles, and if that doesn't fix the problem(s) even longer to get a working version out, but on Steam the devs can get patches out literally as fast as they can make them without having to wait on anyone else.

So, the devs work on the major additions and changes that go into all the versions, then when those are ready they get the Steam update done and out and let Steam players be the lab rats. There shouldn't be too many issues, so then the devs give themselves two weeks to get the console versions ready to go, and they add in any fixes or changes that might be needed from what they found when players played the Steam version.

We get a more polished version of the update when it finally releases to console, and the devs get a decent, sustainable workflow for their team size.

It's win-win, really.

The devs popped in and just clarified that the in-game timer is off by a day, and also cannot be pinpoint accurate because it's impossible to know the time. Basically, we always get updates pretty much as soon as they're available; the devs try not to hold hold onto updates just to meet a specific time
