Drak is just the best example for this. I was watching Davee stream yesterday and he was using the leadstorm with crosshair mod it makes it 10x easier to manage to overheat. If someone is trying to elevate their gameplay it's unfair advantage to have.

Thermal exhaust requires you to stay above 50% heat to get the added dmg. It's so much easier if you never have to take your eyes off of target. OFC you can probably get good at it but you'll never be on the same level as someone with the crossair mod. And ofc none of this matters if you play this game casually and don't really care about getting the most out of your builds

No, it’s an issue where mouse clicks aren’t registered. There’s a fix by running the game in your native resolution in exclusive fullscreen. Ultimately there’s a deeper issue that hasn’t been fixed.

What capacity floppy disks are you calculation that at? Because I was using the common 1.4mb capacity and the install size of 2.29gb as reported by Windows Settings, since I wasn't going to try to initiate a fresh download of DRG just for some silly math 😉
I'll show my work so it's clear:

Floppy disk is 1440kb
DRG is 2.29gb

2.29gb = 2401239.4kb
2401239.4kb / 1440kb = 1667.5271 floppy disks
(Round up to 1668 since you can't have a functional half a disk)

1668 disks * 18 grams/disk = 30024 grams
30024 grams * 0.00220264 pounds/gram = 66.13 pounds

Roughly 66lbs of 1.4mb floppy disks

Like I said, some just for fun, dumb math, but you might want to check yours

Does anyone here who uses Xbox ever use the Discord Xbox pods? I have never been able to get my Discord to connect with Xbox games, so it seems like you'd either have to play with sound on and give feedback to everyone else, or with your headphones on but then it'd be hard to hear people on discord on your phone/computer. Is it just something Microsoft store users use?

I have a headset that can do both wired and wireless audio at the same time. I use the jack for my controller and then connect bluetooth to my phone for discord chat.

For people who keep their PC next to their console, you can also run the console audio to your PC's line and just use a headset connected to your PC.

But yes, I expect it's mostly for MS store users. Both options above do require a level of setup/commitment above simply hopping into party chat

Current version has a freezing problem when attempting to play fully offline solo missions. It'll play for about 45 seconds, and then freeze for about 45 seconds.

That timing is not exact. I can upload a video if it'll help. The game will still apparently take input like Esc to get to the menu, but the menu screen doesn't appear until the game unfreezes.

Would suggest you deactivate the gamebar then. It is known to cause issues with games. If you google theres a ton of tutorial that suggest turning it off for various reasons. Also win 11 in general has had some troubles with certain kind of cpus - some that was been fixed in updates. I would suggest that you look if your specs are on that list.

Frankly users should be staying on Win 10 until EOL, you've got 3 years. Win 11 still has too many basic issues that Microsoft needs to fix. I'm taking a wild guess here, but based on adoption there's a high probability that Microsoft will extend Win 10 support like they did with Win 7.

Hey guys. I have an issue. My game is granted by game pass. I renewed and I think I got stuck in a single player group. I’ve tried to disband. Join other groups. Invite. Nada. And, the real kicker? The invite friends button under the player frame is gone. I’ve restored old cloud saves just in case. What else can I do? I effectively have a single player version of the game now.

Friend sends invite, I go to my own solo group. I join from server list and I get stuck on loading. If I hit disband team I get stuck. When I get in game I can’t invite friends. No options. The button doesn’t work nor does pressing escape and clicking the plus at bottom left. Disband group does nothing. Turning my computer off all night does nothing. Just stuck.

Ok so that's not really how audio works. Your computers' (and for the sake of this explanation, your xbox is a computer) 3.5mm audio port is incapable of telling the difference between a pair of headphones and speakers. What it can do, and this is determined based on the quality of the audio hardware and software combination, is determine the amount of resistance from your listening device. It'll usually be adjusted on the fly to account for that to power high resistance devices as needed.

Now that that's out of the way. If you're not hearing specific audio cues from the game, that's an issue with the game itself (ignoring the issues it can have with AMD or Realtek based solutions). The fact that you're using headphones or not is irrelevant.

I m trying to figure out why some people are saying they can hear them walking and others cannot. I just asked the sound guy, and without being aware of the footsteps specifically, he said there can be a difference due to limitations, so when a lot of stuff is happening, some sounds will have a lower priority. He's changed it so they have a higher priority, so it's likely you can tell a difference once it makes it into the game.

That's awesome! It does sound more like it on your clip hope it isn't just because music is off but then again I never turned mine off in all my time playing. I wouldn't want it to be changed if they never had that priority in the past (sometimes there's nothing going on and still I don't hear it creeping behind me) or it was just me going deaf but this other person yesterday reinforced what I had been thinking for a few months now. Hope you can find a good balance where we don't hear them coming from rooms away but not necessarily being silent either.

I think the lower priority isn’t necessary on purpose - it’s just placed in a group that gets the back seat when a lot of sound is going on. I think they’ll be hard to hear in context with other sounds playing either way, but as it is a tell, it makes sense that they are prioritized higher. I hope it helps.

I use a headset that can connect via bluetooth to my phone for discord, and via jack to the xbox so I can have audio from both in the same place. You can accomplish similar by running your xbox audio to your PC's line in and using the PC for both discord and game audio. But generally, people on xbox use xbox parties because you need some level of setup to get discord and xbox audio in the same place

There is no plan to do so at this time. The devs agree it would be nice to have, in theory, but it would require a lot of work (since currently all the various platforms do not enable accounts to talk to each other and all connections are peer-to-peer utilizing each platform's built-in networking functionality), and it would require sacrificing the development flexibility that having Steam be separate provides (not to mention that Steam's cave generation is capable of slightly more complexity than the console versions due to console hardware limitations, so Steam's version would have to be downgraded slightly).
Currently, the Steam version can be updated and patched rapidly as needed, while the consoles have a bit more involved in getting patches out to users (like passing console software certifications which must be done with every patch). To allow for cross-play, all updates would take a little longer to come out so they could all be more rigorously tested before released at the same time. The advantage of releasing to Steam first to get feedback on bugs/balancing, patching a few times to make sure all the big issues are handled, and then finalizing console builds would be lost

Yeah, we did have a hiccup with Tunic where I had to at the same time as DRG fouled up, re-install that. But that's resolved, no other games are impacted. DRG is the only game that has an issue.

Are there any way to report cheaters as of now?

I'm seeing way too much cheater these days.

I'm in asia region, and whenever I open the server browser or deep dive terminal, I could see cheaters blatantly naming their room "科技房" (It's a Chinese slang for using cheats).

If they are using mods on mod.io, their mod list shows up in server browser. However, these rooms don't use mod, they just use third-party software to cheat. Thus, without them stating they are cheating in the lobby name, there's no way to filter these lobbies out from the server browser.

Just now, I join a extermination mission. With no indication of using cheats in the name of the lobby, I just played the game the way I usually did.

Mine some nitra to prepare for the dreadnought fight.

However, one player immediately said "开王" (Which means start the boss fight in Chinese)

I was confused - although this is a haz 4 mission, they are just bunch of greenbeards(player lvl below 30), starting the boss fight immediately isn't a good idea

So I rush to their aid, only to see a engineer spamming his grenade launcher like it was some kind of burst-fire rifle.

I closed the game, filed a report against the cheater via steam profile page. However, seeming that there are still a lot of cheaters out there, I cannot help but wanted to voice my concern here.

I get it, this is a PVE only game, so a functional anti-cheat probably isn't worth the investment. However, I would still like some way to report these cheaters and get notified when they got banned (like R6).

I really like this game, and I don't want to see cheaters rampaging and ruining the fun for other players. it would be awesome to see a official statement regarding cheating and in-game reporting functionality.

There are no "servers" exactly, as Deep Rock uses peer-to-peer connections. If you're the host of the session, everyone else is connecting directly to your console, and when you join a session you're getting connected directly to the host's console. If you're joining, the network stability will always be dependent upon both your network connection and the host's network connection. Have you been the host when this happens?

It is possible it was on the host's side of things. I had a friend who had a bad internet setup for a short while (they had to connect using one of those ethernet-over-powerline adapters for a few months), and any time we weren't thinking and joined them we'd get bad lag spikes kinda like you're describing. Only time I've seen anything like that, personally, and I haven't heard of too many issues like this from others here.
If it's not consistently happening, I'd chalk it up to connecting to a host with a bad setup. You could also be the host and see if it happens. If it doesn't happen when you're the host and people aren't constantly getting dropped from your sessions, it's likely just bad luck you've been joining folks with poor connections

Hello, anyone know if issues can appear from moving a save between steam and windows ?
so, if i play one day on steam and one day on windows, will issues appear from the constant switching ?

Personally, I've only ever moved my save in one direction, from Windows to Steam, losing whatever progress I get while playing on Steam. I play on Steam so infrequently (and already have most things unlocked), that I've never worried about it. The integrity of my main save is way more valuable to me than whatever progress I make in a few hours of a session on Steam.
A friend has moved back and for frequently, and they believe they've lost some time-limited hats because of it. I can't say why this would happen, but if the Steam version and the Windows version are on two different updates (which happens around the time updates come out), I could see it being possible for unexpected things to happen to your save file.
As long as you're careful and make frequent backups (so you can revert to a backup if anything does happen), I think you'd be fine. That said, my friend didn't notice the missing hats for quite a while, so any backup that might have prevented the loss was also lacking months of heavy progress and tons of unlocks, to the point where they deemed reverting wasn't worth it (despite being really bummed about losing the hats)

Solid build. I do have two suggestions that you should try.

Since you're going with electric rounds, you're really only getting the bonus for 3 locks on a single enemy. IMO the wider lens is kind of a fake buff for most builds because you can usually max out your locks on enemies within the sensor without it. I personally find zoom or macro lens allows you to deal with enemies before they reach you. It also allows you to spam locks on fewer enemies to get electricity.

Also on T3, the SMART mod is a little misunderstood. Extra locks doesn't mean your gun fires extra bullets. If you need 2 bullets and have 4 locks you're shooting 2. I think you'd get more killing power synergizing with the electric bonus in column A or blowthrough in C.

Not saying they're necessarily better, but I'd definitely give those a try.

I usually stay away from blowthrough rounds just because I'm usually flanking and don't have an angle for blowthrough to really be useful. Electrochem doesn't seem awful though.

Electro Chem is free 20% bonus to targets on fire, and blow through is good if you have a lot of grunts all lined up.

Blowthrough might be more useful once I up to playing mostly on hazard 4, otherwise the grunts don't crowd/line up well enough. A lot of these elemental bonuses are good but only if your team coordinates to actually have that damage type and I'm usually jumping into pick up games.

are you aware what smart targeting actually does? It doesn’t save ammo. The gun innately does not overkill. What smart targeting does is prevent you from over locking which spreads out your locks more. It’s a very bad upgrade compared to an either 20 to 40% damage increase and blowthrough

the elemental bonus has nothing to do with team coordination. Tier 5 let’s engi proc electricity on his own and you can use inferno to set any target on fire. This means you can easily get +40% damage on big targets

What is inferno? I was aware of my ability to proc electricity, I take advantage of it already,but other than converting some of my grenade launcher damage to heat (30% I think which I don't think is enough to ignite, haven't checked) I was unaware of any fire proc.

I also didn't realize the gun innately doesn't overkill, I thought any extra locks on a target that died fired and wasted those rounds.

When I said this about elemental boosts I was thinking specifically of the scouts twin smgs that have bpnus vs electricity as an option, forgetting that innertia grenades count as electricity and that the plasma rifle has an option to deal electricity (i think, im at work so I cant check). Without those you're dependent on having an engi with a build that deals electrcity if you ever want that bonus to kick in making it (for me) uncomfortably situational.

I adore the level of customization on each gun, some upgrades just feel like they're only situationally useful, which is why my builds are usually off kilter XD

It's an overclock for the breach Cutter.

Useful for setting enemies on fire to procure the bonus damage to burning enemies. Otherwise you haven't to shoot them with 3 locks to electrocute then fire again. If you don't use the breach cutter a lot, I highly recommend 21123. Quick deploy and triple line may not seem like a lot, but it's actually quality of life selection that helps account for human error.

Tbh I don't even use the loki, other than for dreads... it uses too much ammo. Yeah I get that builds, and aim make it more efficient, but I'd rather run either of the other 2 guns since I have a larger grunt kill count. It is a "Deepcore 40mm PGL" it doesn't specify ever in game that it is a grenade launcher, the closest it get is with the "Proximity Trigger" upgrade in tier 5 that states as follows, "Launched grenades will only detonate when they are in close proximity to an enemy or after the projectile comes to a complete stop." Bruh, it takes 16 rounds+ to kill a praet, even if it is on fire, and 2 to kill a grunt, but you have to full lock. Also I use either my secondary for high value targets, or I play scout and use his better version of SCC on the m1000. Also the argument of not knowing how to use it/aren't building it properly can't be applied, as there is one build 21112, and use is up to the wielder. If I wanted a gun that takes out high priority targets, I either have return to sender or hyper prop. Loki just isn't built to hold back swarms. The easiest way to see how a weapon holds up is to run elite deep dives, if you need a resupply on the first stage for a weapon then it just doesn't hold up. Both my stubby and my shotgun hold up, but loki doesn't. Even with bt rounds which are meant for swarm control it can't. At some point it just needs a nerf to the damage and a huge buff to ammo.

It fails in the same way that the csp, and missile launcher do. It was insane at launch, and the nerfed it to the point that it isn't viable for continuous high hazard play. It's very unfortunate, but the best weapons in the game have been, and prob always will be dot dealers. Turret Arc, Sticky Fuel, Neurotoxin Payload, and Electrifying Reload all come out on top for ammo efficiency, just because if you use them properly you may not even need a resupply until 3rd stage of edd. It's also kinda sad that SF completely removes the need for the csp as they nerfed the dot damage of the csp so that the Sticky fuel can both have more ammo, and by proxy more maximum dot damage.

drak isn’t ok, it’s a great gun and one of the best designed in the game. Also the missile launcher had one extremely op mod nerfed, that doesn’t mean the gun isn’t good still. Minelayer was buffed to be op for example

They added a hard cap to the plasma burster oc of 20 seconds, and proceeded to buff minelayer. I also remember them going in and nerfing the fire upgrade in tier 5 and nerfing nitro glycerin compound in tier 5 if I am remembering correctly. As of currently I can't use jetfuel, cause it lack crowd control to any degree, and I would rather run any secondary other than magic knockoff payload on the bulldog. And Salvo is really weak in comparison to minelayer and fragmentation missiles overall. Yes you get the buff with salvo, but it is overall lacking on the aoe aspect.

Dps is dog water compared to overall maximum damage. I play on modded haz 6 with 80 nitra resupply cost, and I play the edd every week on both steam and xbox. That'd where my builds shine cause my scouts/engineers need 2 resupplies when I'm still 3/4 full...

The only time my builds take a slight hit is with regenerative bugs, and usually I'm still fine.

However Windows 10 version may not have support for mods, but it does have mods. I can't tell you how many times I'll join a random mission and have to revert my save afterward because of the infinite minerals, it really gets annoying. But hey what do I know, I'm just one of the few people on windows 10/xbox edition that has over 1500 player levels of time in the game. It's not like I've ever played multiplayer on Windows 10 drg at all.

Name colors are based on the role(s) you have in a server. The colors for each role are set by the server owners/admin. In some servers you can assign yourself some roles, like here where you can pick what platforms and classes you play, or roles can be assigned automatically (like when you boost a server and you get assigned a booster role). You'd likely have to talk to the server admins to get them to change the color for that role (which would change the color for everyone with that role), or ask them to remove that role from you so you are not using that color anymore

I like going in when it's ready. It'll be a better experience because presumably bugs will have been fixed, and perhaps some changes to how things work will have happened to make things feel better. I think the devs do by pretty good job with things, so I'll try it when they've had some time to tweak it. That said, I'm glad for the folks that do jump into experimental on Steam to give feedback

That is the workaround. What's happening is the sessions become desynced, and the only way to ensure everyone you're trying to play with is synced again is to have everyone exit and relaunch
