Yep! Since the game is Xbox Play Anywhere, you own it on console and you also own it on PC. Use the Xbox App on PC, sign in with your Xbox account, and install DRG. Launch the game and it should automatically sync your progress. If it doesn't, you can use the in-game Restore Save feature in the menu to tell it to download and use your cloud save.

If you want to move to the Steam version, that is possible as well. You can find instructions on how to copy your save file (after doing the above process) from the Xbox version to the Steam version in the pinned messages in this channel

That's completely up to you. There can be some fun in restarting, but unlocking all of the overclocks takes a long time since you're limited in how many you can unlock each week. Other than overclocks, you can't miss out on too much. It might take a while to get the cosmetics back but the devs have designed the game and the unlocks so you can't really miss out on much permanently, and at least those are not functional

For any of the DLC you've purchased for Xbox, you won't have access to those cosmetics on Steam unless you purchase the DLC on Steam. Other than that, you don't lose anything.

In fact, the Steam version offers a bit more than the other versions:

• Slightly more complex cave generation
• Official mod support
• Ability to join a Union (which isn't really much more than a prototype of a feature which grants you a few extra minerals and credits occasionally)

If by PC you mean the Xbox version on PC, simply log into the Windows Xbox App with the same account you use on console, download the game (it will be free since it's a Play Anywhere title), and when you load the game it should automatically load your cloud save. If it doesn't load your cloud save automatically, you can use the Restore Save feature in the menu to load your cloud save.

If by PC you mean the Steam version, then you need to do the above steps first to get your cloud save downloaded to your PC, and after you buy the game on Steam you can use the instructions in the Pinned Messages in this channel to transfer the save file to Steam

Sounds like a heap corruption but without getting access to dump file it’s really hard to tell only developers would be able to know for sure. I had that happen once and I helped out developers with that problem since I had access to crash dump logs

Steam gets the updates first, because Steam doesn't have an update certification process like consoles do. If there's a major bug in an update, the devs are able to push out a fix quickly on Steam instead of having players stuck waiting on a fix. Additionally, it enables the devs to focus on fixing things quickly, because they don't have to fix things for multiple platforms at the same time.

We wind up waiting a little longer for the update, but in return we get a more tested and less buggy update

My friends and I are having trouble with the new update. I am on windows store and I usually host. 2 of my friends play on xbox and the other one plays on windows store as well. The map seems to be unsynced between console and pc. Missions will either have no name or just not show up. We tried playing the first new assignment mission and stuff like nitra and gold were in different locations on their side. We restored to a previous save and just played the deep dive.

Is this a known issue? Or is it just on our side?

when my friend selected a mission, it told me that it was a heavy extraction but for him it was a deep scan

and when i loaded in, it said i needed 6 scans instead of 5

Is anyone experiencing significant periods of almost buffering or stuttering while playing in the ossuary depths on Xbox? I’ve experienced this stuttering behavior when mining red sugar over the almost 2 years I’ve played the game. I at first believed it was due to my system, so I purchased a new Xbox and I still experience the same stuttering when mining red sugar or when power attacking terrain. Just wanted to see if it’s a me thing or if other people are experiencing this issue

I ended up changing graphical settings from fidelity to performance and it so far has fully alleviated the stuttering when power attacking terrain or mining red sugar although the movement of pitjaws or perhaps their spawning does seem to freeze the game from time to time as the host as Xbox my friends said nothing happened to them client side but my whole game froze for 4-5 seconds upon exiting the drop pod on our first pit jaw colony mission

So I played on my laptop in the meantime, but It didn't Sync my progress, and I can't find out how to

You can try going into the Options menu in-game on Xbox and going to the Save Menu. You can select Restore Save and it should present a list of cloud save files to choose from. Check the dates and see if any line up with the last time you played on your laptop, and that should do it

If I try to open the game on Xbox It tells me the latest save data is on my laptop, but not on cloud

Meaning I'd lose It

I did a bunch of stuff, don't want to lose any of It

You should be able to make a backup of your save on your laptop. That should provide some security if you try to go ahead and check the Restore Save option. To make a backup, follow the instructions in the pinned messages in this channel to find your laptop save file

There aren't really any DRG servers. Multiplayer is all peer-to-peer handled by each platform's matchmaking, and all account and save data is also handled entirely by each platform's systems

Well, it is saved locally on your laptop, and itshould be in the cloud as well, but it's not entirely clear when it is is triggered to make a cloud save. Presumably it's every time the game itself saves, but in practice it doesn't seem to always be the case.

When you select Restore Save, it should give you a list of all available cloud saves. Usually it's pretty good about offering a few different saves from different dates (it usually keeps a few backups as well as the most recent), but it has been known to be imperfect

Hi everyone, I’ve run into a bit of a problem. I’ve been playing the game via the Xbox App on PC for over 100 hours now without any issues. However, since yesterday, the game suddenly drops to 1 FPS right after the 'Press Any Key' screen. I have no idea what to do about it. Does anyone know a fix for this? Not a lot of people do modded lobbies since the notion revolves around that Microsoft doesn’t allow modding games from store but that’s no longer true now it’s up to developers to implement it if they want too

From our publisher:
"Interactive Features not working: In this case it had to do with the Streamer running Firebot for his own buttons. That conflicted with the game's features. You must choose one or the other. Can't have both at the same time."
