The team upgrading is a big part of RC.
So I meant if our dwarves could be "ported" but not the progress, only figuratively so we think in the lore that they got promoted to rouge explorers and are now in the new game and also work sometimes as miners in DRG
How often are the team upgrades going to occur? When I think of a rogue-like, I think of Risk of Rain, and you get items/upgrades like crazy in that game, would Rogue Core be anywhere near that?

Outlines can help a little, but generally things that started as screenshots or larger creatures/enemies in general are difficult to make into emotes

You lose detail visibility when you scale down in size for emotes
There are a few sides to this.
- It is to everyone's benefit for the entire team to be strong.
- No one upgrade will make or break anything (usually)
- Most of the upgrades are not generic and as you make your builds what is best for your build starts separating from what is best for a teammate's build
- If you don't work together you will die

I don't see why they would pity the miners. They are different Dwarves who chose different lives. But I'm sure the Reclaimers think they are more badass than the combat miners. I can see that some have been miners themselves in the past. Others maybe did military servie or something.... I'm just making this up right now š

+, a character putting their arms so close to their body makes rigging the 3D model mesh harder
you can see what happens when you put arms of tf2 characters in positions they dont hold them in in the game

i thought there wasnt gonna be preset classes for RC because players can create their own classes with certain builds unless they changed the idea back when itw was first announced the game

I feel like the "underground bases" are kind of a retcon. Hasn't it been established that it literally impossible to maintain anything because of the wildlife and shifting cave geometry?

I have to admit after watching today's showcase, I am more and more excited for Rogue Core. I know many people dislike that it is a separate game, but I can understand the devs vision on why they wanted to separate, as this would kinda look odd as a DLC. On top of that, I am sure with the scope they wanted it to have, they couldn't bring it as free DLC.
The enemy designs they showcased so far honestly looks amazing. I was initially upset we wouldn't get the glyphids (I am not sure if we will actually see them) but the ones we saw looked amazing and scary. Definitely fits the vibe that Rogue core is a bit scarier and harder! My fav is edgestalker for sure. They look like the Nerubians from World of Warcraft.
Having 5 classes (and even more) is exciting and honestly I can't wait to play this game. Hopefully I will get a chance to get into alpha šš»

probably depends on how big the test is honestly
if the closed alpha lets a lot of people in, someone will break the NDA eventually
id love if halfway through 2025 we get shown live gameplay of a mission from testers
Assuming they are consistent with the season themes, season 6 will probably be more rogue core enemies in normal drg.

they would likely need a lot of tweaking to be balanced in base game

There's also the point of identity. They removed glyphids from RC so it would stand out more
adding RC enemies to base DRG would reverse that

but you do benefit from you being strong
or you survive because you got some weirdly busted build somehow thru pure luck
There are a few sides to this.
- It is to everyone's benefit for the entire team to be strong.
- No one upgrade will make or break anything (usually)
- Most of the upgrades are not generic and as you make your builds what is best for your build starts separating from what is best for a teammate's build
- If you don't work together you will die
That 3rd point is probably the most important one for avoiding the dumb stuff
But thereās also the angle of āI canāt trust the randoms to handle things so I should take all the powerful options because I know I will make use of itā

It entirely depends if that powerful stuff suits your build in the first place

How certain is the team to have the reclaimers use the same dwarf voice from DRG? I just really really really wish GSG would give them a separate identity, since they're supposed to be more serious and professional. because why would someone pick the option that has a higher tier color, if it doesn't fit your archetype (not accounting for players that won't know any better)
so I think that if the possible build archetypes will be balanced well, then there won't be problems wth the selection system

Here's a not so great analogy that highlights my concern with the upgrade system as has been teased by GSG (I understand things are subject to change, I also hope I'm wrong).
Suppose you and 3 friends boot up a new Minecraft server, except upon loading in everyone is given a UI that says "Only one person is allowed to use swords, only one is allowed to use pickaxes, only one is allowed to use axes, shovels, hoes, water buckets, etc."
You can imagine the player who was forced to choose between hoes and shears would be quite upset; not only because they won't have the tools they'd prefer to use, but also because they'd know that it was their teammates who put them in that predicament. That sort of game design wouldn't necessarily foster cooperation and could even produce undue toxicity.

No doubt, and most veterans won't have any trouble adapting. It might be daunting for newbies or players who prefer a casual experience.
Hopefully the learning curve isn't too steep. That's something that will only get better with more feedback and testing.

This is a reference to how Coil Gun makes you invincible, meaning none of the miners with it would die.
