No the versions are the same. The console version and PC version on DRG is also the same.

The difference is just that while Steam can upload builds almost instantaniously, XBOX and PS requires some a longer process.

Console market is pretty strictly controlled by their respective parties, being Microsoft and Sony. Developers need to submit their games and builds for certification for those platforms, mainly to make sure that console specific features such as social integration work correctly and up to their standarts and that sort of stuff. It can take months for new releases and IP's but it's shorter for updates and such. You can probably find more detailed info if you look up console cert process, I assume that's what causes the discrepancy between when updates come out

Just beat my first run of Rouge Core. Fantasic game. The bosses were were amazing. I particularly liked the boss of stage 3, the Scarlet Mactera Spitfire. However, I must say that one of stage 5's bosses, the Tropoc Rubyclaw, was excruciatingly annoying. It was so fast that I felt I was forced to abuse the slowdown provided by the "Copperhead" Plasma LMG in order to just be able to live. I barely made it out of that fight alive thanks to that and a usage of my Iron Will. I really hope they nerf that boss in the future. The fact it came after the sheer hell that is the Blissful Grotto biome is NOT helping its cave (completely inaccurate name by the way. It is NOT blissful). Speaking of biomes, other than the aforementioned Blissful Grotto, I quite liked them. I think Magma Core fits as an early game stage here, despite how annoying it is in DRG. My favorite biome is probably the the Vermillion Chambers biome, though the Warped Core was surreal to go through for the first time (weird that they didn't just call it the Rouge Core).

I got early access to the Eternal Core DLC and its infinite mode, and they gave Tropoc Rubyclaw a third phase that's immune to all slowdowns.

My Gravitas D7707E, which has the most insane slowdown in the entire game (GSG please nerf), became utterly useless. This in turn made the rest of my build excruciatingly hard to use, since it was so reliant on the massive stack of Bullets of Mercy buffs I had gained over the course of the run, which would proc off of the slowdown from my Gravitas. I only barely managed to beat it with expert dodging and shooting using my "Cardinal" Machine Pistol. It took nearly an hour.

The devs must think I'm insane.

But RC is evolving from DRG. A big hook of which is the ease in which classes can interact and combo with each other

How will 1-4 support tools work? How would builds change in focus and power based on how many players are in a run?

Our only metric is DRG, but how RC shapes up in comparison depends entirely on the kind of roguelike they’re trying to make.
