Depends on the type of error. Is it a communication error? Does it only apply to that character or all characters (if you have more than one)? A whole bunch of quantifiers needed before any help would have meaning.

So here is the deal. A lot of people are reporting black screen reset on load. The one you are reporting. This usually happens after an update, which we just had one. Often it is driver and software related needing updates. Not always, and may not work, but that is where you should start. An "application hang error" in Ashes of Creation is frequently tied to issues with GPU drivers, graphics settings, or Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) conflicts. Make sure you don't have any antivirus beyond Windows Defender running. If you do get in, make sure to play with your graphics settings until you get the performance to where it needs to be. The beauty of alpha, every time they update, you play broken lottery.

If other characters work, that may mean your particular character has been put into a "stuck state" and yes, you will have to wait for a reset. I would say file a ticket, but those are running around two weeks response atm, and a up/down reset will happen way before that.

I don't think you need that much free space to run the game, but the steam patching system wants you to have enough for the whole game. Not sure if you actually need the full 150Gb but pretty sure you won't need more than that to patch it

You don't have a main quest line after level 5... after you got the gathering tools and being directed to a settlement. There are some quests here and there, but you ahve to find them. If you need something to do, there are commission boards in settlements which will give you smaller quests, but it'S pretty much sandbox now

I recommend looking at your destinies and figure out how to do them. Those are like an extended tutorial which will give you a peak into things you can do in general. Like crafting and processing and so on. All of those will give you adventuring xp too or you can join one of the grinding groups for the most effective way to get those xp

sorry I wasnt specific. Phys Power is the "sum" stat of all physical increasing stats and that applies to any orange labeling weapon scalings (pierce, blunt). Mag Power is the "sum" stat of all magic increasing stat and that oinly applies to arcane damage. Your skills themselves will sayu physical or arcane damage and they scale off the respective power stat

I say "sum" but the power calculation takes into a lot of stuff like accuracy and crit rates so its way more complicated than linear addition. the power stat is then what yopu do ur math with. if a skill say 250% phys then do (Your Phys Power)*(250/100) = damage

if it says slash/pierce/blunt damage scaling then math is same for physical hbut you would add any multipliers or resistance factors to the math and currently only certain mobs have resistances and there arent any buildable multipliers for martial damage types

Why did the game administrators decide to ban people for RMT, while these guys have been sitting there for a week and no one's bothered them? The game already has bots for chopping wood and fishing. Every server has guys with AFK fishing and a macro that allows them to move once every 10 minutes. Yeah, I was in a lower level zone killing things (and bots) so I don’t think the mob exp there was even touching my corruption. I also think that corrupted player show up on the map, but that is bugged at times as well. Or maybe not implemented yet, not sure.

If took me roughly 20% of my level to get rid of corruption in terms of mob grinding.. it is risky risky risky though.. because anything you have equipped can drop, and you can drop 1-3 items for just tier1 corruption (normal corruption is just 1.0 as a stat to reduce, but one time I was at 1.7 as well).

Sadly once you go on EA you have to compromise with people who consider the game basically released. It always worked like that for every game, won't be different for this one.

Since citizenship is shared across all characters' accounts, I decided to cancel my Cal Torim citizenship on another character and exchange it for something else. @sleek sapphire never use authy. they abandoned their customers, deprecating their desktop apps without any way out (there's no way to export and "get out" of their ecosystem - they do this on purpose). there have also been several security breaches. they don't provide any support. don't ever use that app. there arre numerous open source solutions out there, or set up a second bitwarden acc for totp. (a lot of people lost access to their codes because they used authy)

"rollback" is generally used for progress, not for updates, but I don't see why they'd do a progress rollback unless there's something very major, but I don't think that's the case (I just came here and updated the game, didn't hear anything)

The issue is still happening:

the game crashes immediately when I click Play in Steam

there is no error message, and Easy Anti-Cheat does not appear to launch

I’ve rechecked everything on my PC side (Steam file verification, Windows security settings, reboot, etc.), no change.

At this point I’m wondering if this could be a Steam / Easy Anti-Cheat issue related to the latest patch.

Is anyone else experiencing this today?
Or can a CM/dev confirm if this is a known issue?

Personally hate short bow because the attack animation is so long, makes it hard to cast spells when you want to. Codex/wand are good once you get the to the top of the tree with the Echo stacks and such, but I leveled with a longbow
