We never trully know, companies try but if a company could nail it they would make a fortune. In general when tech is first introduced it fails then gains traction again a few years later (if it dose). Example the first tablets were a big fail and took almost ten years to become popular. It depends on the type of complaints but the game overall will be for a niche crowd. There's big several pushes to try and get PvE servers or make it not PvP focused and that'll never happen. There are enough games like WoW, FF14, ESO, and others people can play for that experience. I'm glad Steven puts his foot down on certain things.

But the botting is out of control and RMT needs to be better managed are my complaints currently.

None of the secondary archetypes have been released or tested yet but basically what you archetype to will modify existing abilities to enhance them.

You'll be a cleric forever but after level 25 (later on) you can choose an archetype. Now Steven has said you'll be able to switch archetypes BUT BUT it won't be easy. Long quest or different ways to change but it'll be taxing.

The last time I got to level 25 as a cleric was probably 6-8 months ago. One of the times I solo'd with farming materials/mob grinding and the other was pure mob grinding with others. Honestly I can't remember where I went each level so I won't be able to help you much there.

2.5 had a lot of issues but its saving grace was probably having one of the best PVP gameplay loops untill they removed Junedark lawless and BIS gear dropping from mobs in pvp zones. with no replacement

It's too much work they have to do (for example, the crafting system, gold farming, trading, market system, group system, loot system, quest system, bag system), and yes, we know how to defeat monsters, but there's just so much missing. It looks like the game still needs years to be fully developed.

But you absolutely aren't too late to learn. The game is only in alpha and you have tons of time to learn the in and outs of the game before release. Either way it's great to take breaks. Try in 6 months or a year and see how it has improved. Over the last year they've done a lot.

They have been working on the FTUE (first time user experience) and it has gotten better. But as others have pointed out, there will be very little hand holding here. LazyPeon described it best in his last video as "WoW brain/Themepark brain" vs "Sandbox brain" Once the curated quest lines in the starter areas run out, you have to go looking for the next ones. Currently questing on its own will get you to around 16. There is a power gap around 10-12 where the difficulty jumps. Most end up supplementing with town board commissions and gathering to get them over that hump. Good luck, have fun.

Then make it so packs can't be run without being flagged. e.g. in your node you're relatively safe but its dangerous to venture out into the world and gives people in other nodes to come into yours to attack people. e.g. friction and psudo factions based on nodes.

My experience with the game this morning:

• Logged in to see that all Elixirs I had recipes for are disabled = dead shop until they are back in action. Spent tens of hours farming recipes in SB and KB, spent ~40g buying them from the market, 35 lvl Alchemist, it's my main prof, basically unable to play as one now)
• Lab in Joeva got destroyed, so all Elixirs I put on craft there were deleted.
• Decided to run crates, the game crashed by itself on the road near Miraleth. When I logged back in - another player was already loading my crates on his mule) I got lucky - he was a good person and gave them back to me, but it's pure luck.
• When I reached my destination mule got bugged, I was not allowed to dismount anywhere, tried various spots - nothing worked. Decided to find a safe spot and logout/login to debug it.
• When I logged in - all 3 of my crates were teleported right next to the storage area (I logged out on another end of the town) with other players around them. Again, pure luck that I got to them first.

I know it's alpha, I don't usually complain, but are you guys even trying there?)

There is a massive list of things, that affect many people. It is not feasible to just “do a patch” for them all, or individually. Big fixes. Small fixes. Huge big changes. All take time.

The PTR is a key tool in the process and there has been some delay getting it onto steam. Once it’s up Intrepid will use it to push fixes to for target testing.

What you described sounds frustrating for sure. I get it. That’s when you step away and do something else. This is just a game and an unfinished one at that. Not a full time game. It’s for fun. If it’s not fun why play?

I reported lot's of issues that were not affecting me before and I cheered for every patch even if I never had the issues mentioned in it. Majority of the things you mentioned were reported by me at some point as well, I believe, since I bug report literally anything off, even dislocated trees etc.

Again, it's not the matter of 1 thing, it's a matter of strings of bugs that make playing PVE unbearable at the moment. Before they were capable of doing daily patches even without PTR, so this point is invalid as well.

Kraken Belly, Bandit Shanty town and Steel Bloom are best for recipes, but SB is overcrowded at this point, people are fighting for spots, rogues are pulling mobs on your healers to loot your bodies when your pack will dit etc.

Lvling up Scribe is a pain as well, so I usually save materials for 60-70 of them and craft them in 1 go under a scroll - it's much easier, almost a Journeyman even though I was not really focusing on it

Popping adventuring exp just before you pick it up is like icing on the cake after its baked. (Also works for commissions, when you save them all up and then pop the 25% scroll then turn them all in)
