if you mean regular excalibur and night's edge, excal is better

night's edge is a prehardmode weapon and excal is post 1 mech, and not an ore sword, so that should be fairly simple

and, post-hardmode, crystal shot

Meteor shot will ricochet off walls so its good for arena fighting

Lava resistance, just dig around lava, if you want to make a hellevator, I'd reach the surface via the fastest means and use bombs when necessary, if a large pool of lava does form, 7s of resistance won't last long enough to make any progression anyway, water walking is also pretty useless, etc
