No, because you can fix it and you can contain the initial Crimson before going into Hardmode. Once you beat Plantera, the spreading speed of infectious biomes is halved.

Look for a 1-block wide hole leading down, each shrine has a 33% chance to generate the hole
Just keep regening worlds until you find one with the shrine hole

to make a house valid for a npc to move in, it needs the following things:
- a closed structure, with atleast one exit (a door is the obvious choice, but platforms can work too). This includes the background walls, not just the blocks.
- enough space, including solid ground for the npc to stand on (you can't make your floor entirely out of platforms, and you can't cover every solid block with furniture)
- a light source
- a flat surface (a table can work, but there's plenty of other options, like bookcases.)
- something to sit on (could be a chair, could be a sofa, etc.)
you can check whether the house is valid by going into the housing tab (Open your inventory and click the little house icon. It's below the minimap, but above your equipment slots.)
then clicking the question mark and clicking on the area you want to check

for atleast half of the NPCs, there won't be any reason in making them happy
unhappy NPCs will sell more expensive items
but if it's an NPC that doesn't sell anything, or an NPC where you aren't going to buy their stuff anyway, you don't need to care about making them happy. Just use them to make the important NPCs happy.

Note there's a difference between "Likes" and "Loves". With a NPC they love, they can be made to sell a Pylon in a biome they don't like- as long as they don't dislike/hate it.

You can use the Arms Dealer + Nurse combo to get every Pylon except Snow, since Arms Dealer dislikes Snow
The snow pylon is annoying since the earliest NPC you can get that likes the biomeis post-skeletron

You can prevent them from landing without the use of mods by placing Chests around the town, or prevent Meteors from spawning at all by placing a specific amount of Meteorite ore blocks in the world, such as 610 for Medium worlds.

yeah those are cream of the crop for sure at that stage. Demon scythe is great 100% considering you can get it pre-boss and its like one of the best prehardmode mage weapons period, my main reason for putting grey zapinator over it is demon scythe gets somewhat nerfed in FTW/zenith seed as the wall faces are smaller and get hit less, meanwhile zapinator is just consistent damage + the chance of an insta kill. So that's my reasoning, flamelash is great outside of Wall of flesh, in wall of flesh it is close to the worst tho kinda sad lol

On the Drunk world seed, the Dungeon layout is changed to be under a painted Living Tree, and the Old Man and Cultists spawn underground, inside the Dungeon. You're able to travel deeper into the Dungeon before Dungeon Guardians start appearing, and regular Dungeon enemies can appear, allowing access to Bone and any Gold Chests before DG spawn range before Skeletron, but not Dungeon Crates.

It bypasses any barriers in its way and travels from the Underworld to the top of Space, altering any vulnerable blocks in its path.

If you're worried about it hitting Towns, you can put down dozens of Sunflowers around them. This should keep it livable even if it's directly struck by the evil biome generating.
You don't need to worry much about the Hallow, though.

i love the hallow so I'm not worried, just the corruption since I have like 3-4 parts of it in my world for some damn reason.

If you want you could also dig the classic trench around your town or other important locations and use purification powder to clear them if they get struck

I wouldn't bother with hellevator like protection until you know where those biomes are, to prevent them moving further. Only really useful in that respect. Otherwise quarantining specific areas like what was suggested.
