Depends on your playstyle.

If you prefer movement on the mount, then you can absolutely replace movement accessories.
If, however, you prefer having a dash, and wings, and/or boots over the mount, it's probably a safe decision to keep the movement accessories.

Demon Scythe is the most expensive one there, 12/use, and it's pretty slow, so using it continuously, at 200 mana (max by default, you should have 280 at least I think?), it would take almost 8 seconds to run out of mana, which while it doesn't seem like a lot of time, is pretty darn slow by Terraria standards.

If you want weapon suggestions, I'd say probably find a Nimbus Rod, Crystal Vile Shard is nice.

I think it's fairly fun and gives good rewards, it just takes some time to complete and gives few Medals in its first tier. Once you get to Tier 2, though, that's when the great options start appearing. You can also cheese it if you don't feel like dealing with the swarm and just want the boss rewards.
