yes but how does i change between the big craggly rock shape and the smooth one
From that point on u right click for the size options and go up and down keys to scroll thro them
up and down keys
Depends on what keys u have for that
It's nothing lol
I just feel like i should have sticked to a smaller scale with simpler shapes rather than trying to mix a tree with a dynastic palace while also keeping it fully usable as a base
I think at some point it's too much detail
At least for me
66+1?
maybe use a fireplace instead?
also yall are so creative, i would never have thinked about using tables to further detail stuff
little wip
Hous
Ohhh niiice
That may be true in regards of the palace, making big oriental builds can be kinda overwhelming, though you could always try to look for suitable inspo to assist
still quite new to building, have some old thing that leads down to hell
Strange colour palette but I like the texturing a lot
Maybe color the vines yellow?
This is so nice
yeah thats gonna take
like alot of paint
would it look less strange if the wood was alot more red?
i dont have a dye vat so i literally cant make it look redder
though maybe i could make the roof darker as well, i do have access to black paint after all
Mahogany painted brown is always nice
Vines look like rope when brown too
But textured
i think i wanna keep it green
To look like vines or to just be green
Because you could add some more overgrown parts around it too
I want cheese
do i just like slap on some living wood leaves and dangle some vine rope?
I have bad habits with lime paint and strange plants
But actuators and living leaf and a hammer goes just at well
im in pre-hm sadly, fresh out of post-evil, not cuz of skill issue but because im actually taking things slow this playthrough
I play journey just to build
Ngl I did too
And I used it apparently
have like the first ever build in this playthrough, fancier shoebox with a shitty leaf haircut
Its name is Edgar
kinda too lazy to change it
crafting a sign and naming it brb
oh nice
probably the only high effort build i have so far
I like it
i think i did well with pre-boss materials
I abuse the painter
He’s preboss I think
yeah he is
and heres like probably one of the lazier houses
I like the way you used fence more tbh
yeah fences were the goat
Beams are nice here too
Let’s see if I still have a picture of any of mine
Oh this one got corrupted
Worlds gone
But I like it still
Spent weeks on it just to take a break from everything
I only took a picture of the first part I made
oh my,,
It started the style I have I think
yeah i REALLY cant wait to unlock actuators soon
This one’s on the forums somewhere
March state of the game I think
I’m proud of it too
I didn’t actually use too many
I think just on the one beam of living wood and the window
This is when I started getting into using light
I’d paint the stone orange and echo coat mushroom torches for moonlight and window light
The sign on the left I originally made with spliced tiles
Tedit and wedit things
But I there was drama with that
yikes
Blep
bp
I think that’s all I have
honestly it kinda hurts when you only have like a little amount of stuffs to show off
Realll
I know I’ve done so much more and I just don’t have it
also i think im starting to drown out the messages now
I love that sm lol
yeah and it makes sense
you constantly get close to deerclops because thats legit the only way you can damage
You’d have to find a way to put a platform above it
Because the one is helpful
Reallly helpful
nah i wanna try out the challenge
i may have overestimated my storage area
all that space and i barely even filled the first 4 starter chests on each row
Just a lil maybe
the amount of pain i went through when making that fucking room
i did it with a lead pickaxe, and some wonky ass hammer
didnt even have eoc killed
man pre boss hits different
I think it's the yellow and reddish pink that clash not the wood and roof tbh, especially with the vines unpainted
I'd honestly just neutralize the base into stone and maybe gray ebon/sandstone brick and add some more green maybe to make it into a two colour plus one neutral palette instead of three colours that aren't complimentary and one neutral palette
I’ve finished my byte-sized building entry! Good luck to everyone else as well!
did u draw this at 12:00 am
Yes.
this is one of the best looking exterior based houses ive ever seen lol
genuin fire
Thanky
Technically it’s got an interior
Just with teleporters
makes it even better lol
I’m playing Minecraft instead of actually doing the terraria competition things right now
Slacking
i gave up on it lol
20 is too small
anyways progress photo, may start on basement instead of other rooms
noice
im brainstorming some ideas for structures in the jungle
and other terrain features cuz I don't wanna make a billion more trees
Does the lihzard temple have any lore implications in calamity
I could build a temple to a sun god
i have no idea lol
what the fuck blocks go with lihzard bricks though
orange painted something maybe
maybe mud or dungeon bricks
I made a thing.
It lets you slap birds you've caught into your accessories slot to wear them on your shoulder.
https://imgur.com/IrFqBAF
I assume making mods falls under the purview of #terraria-creations
THATS CUTE AS HELL
Thanks
quick destroyed outpost build
i wanna add mushrooms
but eh
i think its full vanila
vanilla
or hatever
Yeah
Lots of dryad things
Moon lord came so the lihzards built a temple with a sun deity gave the key to a jungle beast and shattered the solar tablet an item that would bring power to the moon (I forgot where I got this from)
Source is trust me bro
https://imgur.com/a/Ix76ePV
is this a good shape for an oriental castle?
uhhhh maybe use a different word
lol
Bro why cant i send my build wth even is this chanell supposed to be if i cant even send my build
you need the funny role
so juts link imgur or pintrest
its annoying but it is what it is
undergound transport hub
What do yall think?
This is like my first big build so i think it looks good and im in pre-hardmode so i have limited resources
Thx bruv ❤️
any ideas on what i could add
Really like the arches, never seen something like that before.
my bee hive rework
i swear i've seen that build before
ooo nice
art again
https://www.reddit.com/r/Terraria/s/8pwrJ4wWqF
Credit would be the bare minimum to do babe
not the changed eye color being the only difference😭
Bad boy
Mfs in this chat forgetting there's receipts on the internet, just cause the build is old doesn't mean that people forget about it or that it's free range for copying
and it’s like, cool if you copied a build but only if you say it and ur like, doing it to learn
Someone tried to argue about plagiarizing my shit and how he don't need to give me credit cause he is doing it to learn when he posted it as his own almost complete build
Y'all are bold
Point stays, learn in private or credit the og, you need the image to copy it block for block, just post it with it
Bruh that's so embarrassing 😭😒
This is why I use real life references
I only look at other terraria shit to see what the fuck blocks be painted to go together
Lol I use building refs too because nobody accidentally makes something block for block
Yeah true
It's very easy for me to pick and choose what I want to borrow and repurpose in my style
But I also do indeed use a lot of non terraria refs, ranging from irl to concept art
Yeag for sure
Sometimes ref is just to figure out the vibes sometimes it to get a theme or a colour palette
Sometimes it's heavy inspo ngl
Yea like any art really
There's a house in Chinatown that's near replica of a photo I found
I need to do some vanilla building but I can't go back to not having luiafk or whatever mod has the super building tools
Noice
With adapted roof into the agreed style rather than the original but me personally I struggle with oriental without good references to heavily base it off of
I'm gonna do some IRL art tomorrow then maybe try adding more to my jungle area
I don't know half of those words but awesome 👍 I go by vibes
Irl im a leatherworker
I'm ass at asian houses so I copy irl ones lol
Noice
Bro this is my first big build that i actualy tried to make good i never said that i invented it. I only said "What do yall think?" and i allready said that im playing rn in pre-hardmode so i dont have that many things to use so thats why i sended the photo bc its not 1 to 1. People cant even feel proud of building something even if its copied
Thats like when u see a person copying a drawing u dont go up to him and start talking some bull shit even tho its a good drawing. And what do i have to give credit for im not a youtuber that makes these builds i make them for my self ik i maybe should have said that i copied it but still yall dont have to start clowning on me for trying to build something
u could say its copied and nobody would bat an eye bro
people copy shit or use heavy inspo in here, when you say 'thats my first big build' people are gonna think you made it and not that you try to replicate something someone else made, when people mentioned its unique you didnt say its not my idea either, framing it like we are all nitpicking when you actively avoided mentioning the original is bullshit
if u want people to respect the significantly smaller effort it takes to copy someones work, then you start by respecting the big effort that goes into making the original
this is pretty cute
i love how you drew the desert fossil armour
Maybe, maybe

When did i disrespect the original build i only wanted to make somthing that would look cool and i wouldnt built somthing if i didnt like it
Maybe one day you'll be unlucky enough to find out what plagiarism feels like on the other end
Idk how to explain to you why crediting people is important so perhaps life will teach it better who knows
You seem adamant about how you don't owe the original the two seconds of your time to mention them, yet it seems their effort is getting you compliments, compliments on their idea and their hours or days of making it happen in-game
Does this sound like respect to you?
If you copy someone's homework and you get the praise for the work because you went up first does that sound like respecting the work you copied?
If you go to work and someone overhears your idea and pitches it first does it sound like respecting the idea they liked?
Not really
Paying respect would cost you two seconds but also a good amount of the compliments, it's a reason most people who copy nearly block for block in here happen to be so forgetful of the original
Yeah definitely say your limited to the blocks the original creator made not that you only have prehardmode items 🤣
Ok im sorry for disrespecting a guys who made that build so "Itsvinhbui" im sorry for copying your build i hope u dont strangle me in my sleep
From now on i will only build cube houses and things like that
Some of my builds took over 900 hours to make. Artists can get passionate about the things they love.
I mean respect for u but yall need to understand this is my first ever big build and i too put love into it even tho its coppied nobody can make a masterpiece for their first build and i wanted to make something cool
I never even tried building bc its hard in terraria and i respect all of the people that make good builds
we get that it takes effort, it takes us twice to ten times as much, nobody here has jumped someone for sending a build and the inspo pic of whom the were copying before
I'm actually pretty scared of someone copying my build and marking it as their own
it happened to me LOLLLL
Rip
i was actually so mad cause bro was arguing with meeeeee
What happened
It didnt happened to me thankly
That sucks
You’re all good just do your best to give credit where it’s due and just take this all as a learning experience. I know I’d be a little upset if someone tried claiming my baby.
But there's a change my build is on somewhere
ive seen people try to copy and failing im amused but unbothered
when they get a little too close to the og tho, plagiarism grounds, im coming for ur ass
what we talking about
copying peoples builds
im chill with either as long as credited tbh
i was not one to copy full builds even in my early days but new builders often copy elements from builders they like
its kinda inevitable to trace poses when learning to draw
it just crosses into tracing the whole drawing and posting it on discord or reddit for many unfortunately
I’ve been playing terraria so long I find ways to make stuff that I normally shouldn’t be able to do 🤣 gotta break though the walls of imagination
same ngl
what's the point of asking people how they think of your build if that build were to be copied from someone else's
like really think about it bro
at this point im making the inventions
Honestly i just wanna go home and build something
The only thing I care about deep down in my builds is how much echo I can use 🤣 my goal is to be the player to use and overuse the most echo blocks 🤣
I hope my will to build doesnt die though
I really like detailing
i like hoarding
if it dont feel like howls bedroom it too empty
I too like detailing
https://imgur.com/a/d8HwXbI i still gotta finish this
looking goooooooooood
I was not really motivated building this but im doing these builds for my spleef buddies
Thanks
It was also pretty rushed
And the houses on the left are not mine
ngl the trees are my fav part
but i do be the tree hugger amongst the builders so theres that
droopy trees are my absolute weakness tho
Beautiful! I like turning terraria into a top down adventure 🤣 because I should be allowed it makes me wanna do it all the more 😂
I really like the willow tree over there on the right! I love a good willow ❤️
Thanks!!
I built that tree before reworking on the main island so i just sorta added it there because im a lazy boy
including all the islands except the ones on the left
Also the big vines look really weird for me 😭
I like em lot lol
I think the big vine just more smaller connection points in the middle of the hoops. Structurally a vine hooks into multiple smaller points to distribute weight
I just wanna put unpainted blueberries and the red-green strange plants in them
I just can't stop the urge to do that
I should do that when i get home
I’m an outdoorsman 🤣 and plants are both the bane of my existence and my bread and butter. I’d say use vine rope and at turns hammer a corner of balloon block “for a smaller corner” actuate it to darken (or even shadow paint to appear in the background instead)
Shadow paint is actually a really good idea
This old man can be useful sometimes 😂
Shadow works yeah
I general go for black paint so I can keep some shading to the shadowed objects
I love shadows in terraria. That why I don’t use luminous paint all over in my maps. Shadows add so much to that detailing. And then you can force shaded color variations with light and spacing
How do you get the corners of the door like that
Bubble blocks
I love your mod, all the different plant types are amazing as decoration
I'm not that bad
that's awesome to hear! I really wanted Verdant to reward builders so it was great to see in the starboard channel
this is the most i've used imgur xd
i think this looks good but im getting more and more nervous as i finish with the general shape cuz i have no idea how i will detail it further
https://imgur.com/a/rfJ2oIC
im planning to deactivate the two bottom pillars to allow access into the building
i'd love to receive any tips or criticism
eh fair, i made it for utility purposes so i could have a space for chests
Makes sense
False foundation is good, basement not so much
False foundation?
hello communityy
you could add texture in da brick by using grey painted block like mudstone or just regular stone
lol i never knew he copied it : (
who made the og?
was it you
Nah it's the guy who's post I linked
ohh i see now
Yeah ill look into using mudbricks and maybe slab blocks
yes
lol
What about that part?
iz not painted
I didn't do that when i got home
Tru
what is even this
love this
Like I did here
thank you lol
aight i have a tree and a bridge and like 4x more space either side of this
what other structures would works
maybe a waterfall but idk how to make those tbh
the spiral on the tree looks insane
Amazing tree
thanks guys
big fan of tree spirals
ive decided to just make Hill
hopefully Hill will help
I absolutely love this
That would be cool yeah
Holy hell that's a lot of space

mr pee pee

Me too babes
i know
Made this by accident, was trace drawing then realized I was using a Terraria boss pallet, so I went fully into that scheme
noice
sexy
bro PLS use a different word
Oriental is the word mate
Most people don't build based on a specific asian architecture, they build loosely oriental structures
If it's based on Chinese architecture I call it Chinese if based on japanese it's japanese
also i never noticed but nice fear and hunger pfp
Thank you my partner made it
But yeah the case with oriental as the descriptor is the fact very few builders actually pinpoint a country and a century and start building based on said period
so say asian😭 the term is outdated and considered offensive
It's for people yeah
But also oriental refers to generally east Asian elements
Whereas Asia is a whole continent not four countries that people tend to mash together for their build
lol I saw someone’s “Asian” build on Reddit (as they called it) and it was oriental themed obv
Kinda like calling victorian architecture European
Asia is way too vague. People aren’t building Indian temples when they say Asian
YES
They also are scrapping the whole of SEA when looking for inspo
Both the middle east and north Asia are also never taken into account despite being asian
Orient refers to east Asian elements that lack a more concrete inspiration
It's a very good description of western kid mashed Korean roof with Chinese pagoda and adds a Tori gate next to it
afaik, the harm in the word oriental is when it's directed at people
Yeah is what I said calling people oriental is nasty but ngl this mess that is oriental style should be called oriental
Because frankly it's worse to try to blind shoot a country name at it
Vaguely Chinese inspired build post under the name japanese temple and etc
it's funny to see stuff like that yeah
Most people with concrete inspo also either site it or call it what it is
Chinatown was the server chosen name but at this point Chinatown is built with replicas of Chinese architecture that I'm personally seeking out
It was originally oriental since we lacked a plan on country and time period
Settled on Chinese and started reworking old builds
Now it's Chinese
My small build is based on Japanese architecture so I call it that
But rulick himself called his builds oriental props 😭
Which then people kinda went on with and now u see his Korean builds remade by people next to Chinese pagodas...
targetted oriental hurts
i am NOT CHINESE 😭
neither Korean
Oh so you're japanese okay
:spary:
hello hello
nice to see u here, you see me more around this guy @gritty anvil
yknow where to find me
yeah yeah

making this one damn waterfall too so long https://imgur.com/a/v1vSBrv
Why TF is there floating water
I just noticed that
Whatever I'm gonna add more later anyways
oh is that why people were asking to use another word other than oriental
whats this
I want to say brown painted palladium column but the top and bottom are too thick
Looks like brown painted granite column
Granite column doesn’t have the bottom ledge though
Mhmm
You know that the image is only the top end piece right?
Also for future, don’t zoom in so much during the find this block typa questions, it helps, can’t explain it but it do
okie
👌
Nope I didn’t know sorry
Use an all item world or journey mode character with all items researched
Can access both on most platforms free
is tmodloader still broken or whatever at the moment
I have one I've been building in my modded playthrough with my partner recently though
Mint
Mint
Mint Chocolate
This looks familiar
I mean i posted it before if that’s what you’re talking about
it looks Familiar
I’m back on mobile
Where I store pictures
Nevermind I can’t find it I give up
I can trust
I took their house
Smacked out the roof and side wall
I don’t think they ever had a false foundation, think theirs was raised
They solid, haven’t seen enough of their work
I was chatting with them lots when I was working on the build so used their house design as filler
I remember that house
what was the main build
Oh I remember that actually
For a lil windmill, forge and attempt at a mushroom greenhouse
Wack
Anyways im funny trust
Im omnom
I should build something new tbh I have only made like 3 things
Bet
make it thicc
thank you cat from dungeon meshi
🥰
add more leaves and support
awhwww no gif support
A recognized Pokemon Fire red tribute remake of the map and story. No mods no texture packs. Over 900 hours of in game work.
https://imgur.com/a/UiauOYm here's an outdated version of a build, after building this my friend tree joined and we started building together
weathered look is sick 🔥
Thanks
snow build i made inspired by various others ive seen before, ignore joe swanson in background https://imgur.com/a/PxZ13NQ
I need detail like this in my echo adventure maps 🔥
This is fire
thx i havent done a snow build in ages
Are those actuated floating bookshelves?
Yes, power of wedit
We need to petition to expand the building capabilities of terraria
Like more furniture or tec cause that bookshelf stud is awesome
Stuff*
I'm a builder but I never really build something seriously cause my bros always destroyed our base smh
Small village i made so all the NPC isnt on my spawn place.
https://imgur.com/a/akfJld1 i think i can make this work with the oriental castle
i just wish there was a way to deactivate blocks but still be able to put stuff in front of them
I made SkyGrid world for terraria!
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3601370932
So fire awesome job
Also very sick
I'm so surprised I haven't gotten the stupid role yet
No worries :3
little build
this is lit i like shape alot
some sort of snake thing i tried to build cuz i've never tried building animals or stuff like that, meant to be some sort of crimson vs purity type thing https://imgur.com/a/y2EafHv
gotta love the structure
looks sick bro
Update
https://imgur.com/a/X9uC8JC
anyone here participating in the bite size build chalenge
yes
how u going with it
I was doing some planning and 20x20 is alot smaller then i thought lol
haven't made any changes in four days so i should probably submit it by now
mine ended up 19x20 for symmetry lol
yuuuuuup
i found a core gimmick i love that only works with a tiny build
but still have a lot of empty space
i mighttt know what to do with it
what theme of build r u doing
Great build
Almost done doing my Jungle village thing but then i discover a small underwater cave and on the other side is a big air gap or some sort and i know i NEED to use this space too :)
Also multiple screenshot i piece together
I mined out an entrance so its easier to access
@ebon patio I remember you want to see the final result and here it is!. Not the greatest because im not really taht good but i just want to make it simple and fit well with how Structures in terraria looks.
The image might be bit strectehd while im trying to Make it small (3D paint doesnt have ratio lock)
i see you added some food like i suggested, that's nice 👍
i can only see a single clay pot, a couple more could be nice to add colour
in the kitchen you could possibly swap out that platform with plates for a rack (both blacksmith and carpentry could kinda works as chef tools)
here's an example of how a blacksmith rack and a carpentry rack looks in a kitchen build
Below the Cook's house there 2
Below the Merchant's house there also 2
Below the Cobbler' house (NPC next to the Merchant) there 1.
One in the dark area should glow when ripe
Forgot that exist, Also any rec on what to fill on the Merc's and Cobl's house with?, Its kinda empty
also for somereason i cant place pumkin pie on a plate??
lmao thas peak
have you looked at the decor stuff that the painter sells? maybe you can find something fitting there
Living wood gate
Never ever i checked Painter shop. only for pylon
Just paints as expected
thats firee
who knew the painter had paint
For who mistook it as Pain - ter
😩
i said decor, not the paint shop
if the painter is in a graveyard he sells horror movie posters 🙂
Crazy how the painter spawned and just remembered a movie poster and literally copy it and sell it for money
Update. what we reck about the shape of the new one so far
Holy so much detail
But i think its kinda weird that there the jungle grass
And there should be a way to get to the seeminly floating house
Like way to get up if you dont have any mobility accessorry
Thro the other house
I dont see anysort of way to get up
The black door is likely to eventually have a teleporter
And even then
There's pearlstone brick wall lol that ain't a pre boss house that's hard mode
jungle biome next to i wanted to have the houses overgrown i thnk thats a final decoration thing tho
does look dubious tho lol
I like it
The in-between biome area looks better like this than with a straight cut
esp when it cuts from desert to snow
rod of discord 😉
impossible
So im suggesting him to make one
𝗜𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱𝘀?
Yes, either via publishing on steam workshop or, if private or only for friends, by just sharing the world file with the other person (normaly on documents page)
Looks awesome!
Oh ok do you have some I could have
Please 😭 🙏
Hiii
would it be appropriate to ask here for specific building advices?
stuff like what makes my build look awkward in comparison to a reference
Not really
terraria help ig?
Alr
I have a old map I shared on the workshop, just search for Princess Castle
Oh lol so it was here
Dm
Probably bc you're new on the server
Can you share the world?
In dms
If its not about wiring I could help.. maybe, dm me if you want
having some fun with building
i havent played in a while and i aint good at decorating
Are there build challenges on this server
winter cabin thingy im working on
building competitions would be nice
Yeag
Oh, you're the one making the waterfall on jungle I saw some time ago. It looked nice
Oh true, a friend of mine participated in the halloween one some years ago
I have seen some others servers that had these competitions as well
Yea go for it
Use imgur until #terrarian-role-info
T-help is general help, 99/100 times you’ll get sent here 😂
this playthrough ive been building so much, just beat skeletron. the character below is one that ive already beaten the game with lol
ofcofc its a building channel
uep
there's one on at the minute for a 20x20 space best build
added some trees
Where does it says that
let me check for you
Oh cool thanks
looks good
S'pose I'll post this here too.
That right room is for the Princess, and the house itself is owned by me.
Ok im done with the basement part
now im thinking of adding a diagonal tile roof to the middle of the building but i dont think theres a way to do that without cutting the already small building in half
whats the background you used for the bottom?
palm wood painted teal
also i still wish there was a way to place things in front of deactivated blocks
Can you share the world
work in progress probably going to take a while https://imgur.com/a/eIISKc8
Just realized There is living wood lantern, looks like plant so this fits ig
the humble plantern
i'm currently in the progress of making a small house in the woods to stick some NPCs into
shouldnt the stair be connected?
the stairs are a bit wonky cus i didnt wanna have a big staircase taking up space in the house
they get the point across while only being 4 blocks wide
Ig just dont make tall house
but eh fine ig
I never used the Glass block onlt the glass wall
i've been js using whatever i can find in my chests
You are the Re use of the 3R
I'm generally working on just building a lot and preparing my world for hardmode so i can keep building stuff
the current plan is to switch out the wood walls for a different kind of wood and paint some stuff and possibly stick a window or two in the building
i might get rid of the bookcase cus it takes up a lot of space
For me i just build waiting my friend to hop on terraria
Watch out the gnome trying to run away
Bold of you to assume she can count
https://imgur.com/a/ypcwwz8 snow npc housing i made
This is awesome, how did you do the stairs
i used platforms for the stairs and minecart tracks for railing, used boreal beams at the bottom
Chat how do I build
block on block.
How tho, my builds stinky
Like this?
The variation in decoration is very good
What u want to build
A house, something a little less mega basic
Every house I make feels the same
Limit urself haha
No paint/specific colour palette
U use a lot of gray and brown paint
Make a house without them
It'll help break the sameness feeling
It's how I dealt with it at least
Building challanges and especially some paint limitations
Nah more so a more creative shape and decorations
That's what brings creativity for me tbh
It's easy to gravitate to the same shape and colours and furniture pieces
It becomes almost second nature
They all feels so.... Eh?
I did little challanges building with only two furniture sets
Like sure it's solid but it's nothing insane or creative block usage
Hmm
Have you tried to look for wonky concept art
There's some really funky shaped buildings that people draw
It's one way to get an idea for the shape
As for interior honestly I'd say you just need a theme
Not really tbh
It's not a bad start
I struggle with coming up with the interesting shapes
So I kinda mentally stitch together stuff after a quick scroll through peoples art
I'll try that
Decor my tip stays the same
Limit urself in terms of colours or theme, when the goal is to make a nice interior, we drift towards safer tried choices
When the goal is to replicate a specific room it's much more likely to actually try things in attempts at getting a more accurate replica
When sticking to a colour palette it forces you to adapt furniture pieces that can't be painted effectively but still would fit the idea, rather than the same few unpainted pieces and brown tables which used to be my go to
When sticking to a theme, it's much more common to reach for the furniture designed for it, to work with the better choice even if it's not the usual one
It's been a while since I've posted any of my writing on the internet at large, but I wanted to share this:
https://archiveofourown.org/works/73888196
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
It's meant to be a realistic take on the WoF preparation and summoning
https://imgur.com/a/lrQqKTl do you think marble blocks may be better than dynasty wood painted white?
I think both might be too bright
which block you reccomend then
I'm not sure but perhaps one of the lighter woods in gray or orange so it's not as much a big white thing with no division
posting this question here cause i’m guessing all the good builders are in this chat
but how do you stop blocks like dynasty wood from connecting to stone bricks
Make sure smart cursor and smart blocks settings are off. They shouldnt merge textures like dirt and stone do. Make sure youre using blocks as well for if you use the raw collected versions, sometimes that causes them to merge. And if you mean you dont want them touching eachother at all, place a platform inbetween the stone and dynasty wood and then mine the platforms away when youre done building.
I hope this is helpful? I was a bit confused by the question and I really tried to get an answer for you
hold up can i dm you an image just to confirm
i’d post it here but i ain’t got image perms
Of course! Thats fine!
GAMBLINGGGGG 🤑🤑🤑🤑
hi guys!! if you guys have any, could you show me some examples of the place where you put your relics? like a relic hall sort of build, or something. i need inspo
I can show you mine that I'm going to build very soon once it's done...
id love to see when its done!
how do i send a screenshot of my build
Gotta use imgur or something like it I think
just found out you hve to have the terrarian role
found another way
this is my take on a space pirate ship
first attempt at a floating island...any advice?
It's a great start! I love the shaping! Obviously you have plans to put something on top of it, so I think it will come together more once you do that.
If you are looking for specific advice, consider trying to break up the block edges between the cloud and the dirt, and maybe make the cloud a little more bumpy. When we think of clouds, we tend to think of fluffy, so adding a bit of volume might take it in the direction you are looking for.
i agree with the last person, consider adding more thickness/volume to the cloud, and maybe even a mix of block! like snow and cloud blocks, or cloud blocks and bubble blocks, ect
Thanks, this is where I am at. I am trying for a greek structure. I defintly will add more fluffy volume to the cloud!
Nice! The vines growing over the cloud walls do a good job of blending
how did yall build pac-man?
Should've made it in space atleast
Very cool
Add more bumps to the bottom maybe
So it’s shaped like a cloud like this
Progress, done for the day
this is sick af
this is not my build lol
three praising replies and no pings to superman
the tragedies of no terrarian
Unfortunate
W
Me omw to make it 4 😂
@amber stream hell yea
As some lil wisps of cloud by it, give it some protrusions to add texture to cloud
You can also hammer inside the cloud and the soil/stone part of the island to shake it up from being just straight edges on the inside part
Reference photo (too lazy to crop but you can see the posters username) for what I mean by wisps, you can also see how this cloud doesn’t have a flat shape but protrusions and dips

yall got any tips on decorating?
im not much of an interior decorator

Im gonna go cry
I'll do it later I'm lowkey lazy rn
evil modded castle
it hasn't really been my main focus with this world, i've built so many castles already in different worlds that i'd much rather just keep this one simple and practical to a degree
it started out as just the leftmost tower but i added a storage room to the right, and then eventually connected the storage room to the tower before making a second tower on the other side to make a full castle thing as a base
Large bamboo wall
jungle house on a big hill
A lot actually but it depends on your intention with the decorations, tho my general tip is to choose an empty space to clutter ration and stick to it through the whole build, so you don't get some spots looking empty
would be cool if its would be possible to let moss grow on these mudbricks
yeah
i was thinking of adding some roots to the tree originally but idrc to add those
looks nice!! a cool thing with leaves is if you mix the two living leaf wands and paint them the same sort of shade of green and fill the backgrounds with leaf walls it looks really nice
Thx!
Yeah the different leaves i will try... but the background was kinda planned bc this structure should look overgrown but still intact only some vines grown on the walls (but maybe i will think about it)
anyone got tips for getting better at building in terraria i love doing it i have around 1300 hours of playtime but still terrible tbh ive been working on a world with customs builds everywhere to get better anyone got good tips tho
You really just have to try things out. You might redecorate a room multiple times just to get it right but eventually you’ll figure it out and it’ll come easily
One might even get crazy with it and begin to make custom furniture
imagine being able to sleep in that bed
that would be so cool
a bit new to building
some of the better looking ones i've made, wanting to learn some better interior design and decoration if anyones got some tips

Ultra sandcastle
https://imgur.com/a/rFsOmXS heres it with the pyramid i made after taking that screenshot
W build 👍
You're welcome
What did you use for the bed?
I still use your bed
Boreal beam, boreal wall, actuated platforms
Hammered bone platform, palm wood wall Mahogany fence (iirc)
Mahogany beam, palm wood wall
hotel? yessirdoge
i like this house it's my proudest work
an amalgamation of box house squeezed into one megastructure
This actually step one of improving builds - adding rooms of varying sizes
i dont wanna improve i like my crappy builds
niche community stand up
Thank you
Hell yea
Goated bed fr
Thank you
Idk I’d have to do a deep dive as I haven’t built anything in years tbh
Actually I have stuff I may have built during my calamity playthrough
I’d have to look but I need to pass out
Im curious how do you make your windows look like that it's so elegantly beautiful.
Which one
I wanna use it in some of my builds
Diamond shape I assume?
Yes sir/mam
It’s a classic strat
Actuated glass block infront of glass wall hammered into a pattern
In my case diamonds
I believe I also used blue paint on the blocks, can’t remember if normal or deep
Just keep it from being straight black
thank you 🤞
Np
anyone got ideas for ways i can connect this to the ground while still being able to build a house or 2 down there later
https://imgur.com/a/uTui29Q
jungle thing
hopefully noone notices the obscene lack of detail on dryad's house
wait fuck i forgot to remove void bag portal
At first, in my mind, I found it a nice detail to color.. 3 seconds later I was waiting for the bathtubs to transform in butterflies hehe
oh lmao
And poor Dryad.. she looks so lonely!
Maybe make a smaller platform, and put 1 stair facing left to the half of the ladder, after this the platform, after this one more half of ladder facing right
nvm I got it
Ok
any ideas or tips for how i could furnish this ?
https://imgur.com/a/o49M33E
build i made ages ago for a random playthrough where i forgot about pylons and happiness
What do you guys think? it took me like 2 - 3 days.
i credit
I like purple
i took alot of it from this design
Oh
thank you its my fav colour
idk im just starting out building so i looked off a pintrest build and just built it from start to finish
🔥 ____

Id recommend hopping on YouTube for a bit, check out some people like tommy tsunami, khaois and builders like them, they do a decent job of explaining what they are doing so you can learn new tricks to use elsewhere
my hallow build with my arena next to it. i usually never decorate my arena i just started throwing stuff down
my king slime soon-to-be house. I'm gonna be using echo coating for everything inside because I wish to enjoy an untouched king slime while still having it serve it's purpose
that looks amazing! i bet it'll have slime furniture and the throne
interesting
still looking for ways i could furnish this
although i think im about finished with the frame of the whole thing
gonna do a house or 2 below it after

how do you get so many brick variantas and stuff?
Looks like each pixel is a different block
i want to build an house for mage shroom and oracle in a floating mushroom biome but dont know where to start someone got ispo or tips?
Actuated blocks are usually more detailed than actual walls
mobile🤮
Yall fw the second serious house I've ever built?
yeah it looks good
Appreciate it
Looks niice
Looks nice!
Looks good. I love the natural cave underneath too, great building location.
Ty yalls, yes the cave is natural generation
Love this. What's the background in the stone staircase on the left side?
I need to work on adding more texture to my walls and backgrounds, I just have a hard time making things blend
The snow on the roof is very creative
did you make this or someone else
It is original. Well done.
Hello, does anybody have an idea of prehardmode money farm, if im on master?
Yes
Make a platform in the middle of the cavern layer and dig 47 blocks up and down and 84 blocks either side
Then blow up the entire area to make a huge box
Yk what I'll just share a tutorial
I stole that idea from someone somewhere
I did for the 2022 Halloween contest
A gnome farm is also a good way to make money, but I don't have a specific schematic
Any tips on building?
Gonna build a tree house for a jungle pylon🔥 or houses hanging off a big old tree
Generally? Use paint, look at references, have a plan, limit your color palette, learn your basic shapes and curves.
What the dude below said, as for the tree tips, use both living wood and leaf wands, if you have access to, crimson and hallow have natural walls crafted in a graveyard that look really good on trees, but if u got refs, send and I can offer more specific stuff than this
make the jungle a 5 star hotel with the pylon in a indoor garden area for the guests
i did that on mine before and called the hotel M.AN.GO
getting back into Terraria, i've made a Treehouse. (using Calamity Texture Pack- i like their wood texture)
Treeraria

I just used a bunch of differnt blocks and walls and used paint to make them look the same

Main house so far in my first actual calamity playthrough. im more of a vanilla kind of guy, but not bad so far. only boss killed so far is slime king 😅 🤣 got a little distracted making npc houses.
I aaaam haha

Thank you 😎
why cant i post screenshoots do i need a specific role? i need help fiding out why i cant suit a house
Use imgur in the meantime
thanks
cant understeand how none of this houses are viable
all walls are placed i checked with smart cursor and tbh i dont wanna rebuild anything
any help?
Tables chairs and torches?
house enabler by luiafk, its says its missing walls
Farrr out look at the trees now compared to one year ago😭
I just don't like the branches sticking out from the top, looks very off.
Other than that, might be one of the best tree design have seen so far honestly.
Speaking for the one on the right
Damn bro, that’s sick
What are the vine things hanging from the tree on the right?
Looks awesome!
I think they are strange bushes painted green
Something like that i guess
Thanks
That's probably why I didn't see them lol. I'm a vanilla player. MB bro. Wish I could help
It took me like 2 hours on making this little pixel art but I'm proud of it lol
looks fine to me, maybe the dungeon walls aren't the safe ones?
though you probably figured it out atp
damn what's blocks have u used for this roof?
Red dynasty shingles, crimstone brick wall, rich mahogany wall, rich mahogany fence I believe
Cat
Because cat
Because cat vs moonlord
just echo blockls themselves actually. trivia fact you can place strange plant/blueberry on all (atleast the blocks i use) blocks aslong as theres no block above/bg wall
red shingles, the walls are crimson brick walls and the beams are richmahagony walls painted brown
and mahogan fences for the horizontals beams
Oh wow, I thought they could only be placed on dirt like blocks
