Hello Terrarians! As you may have noticed, there's a new category for #1174729901035765770. Re-Logic is looking for community feedback on the localizations in the game for areas of improvement. Please make sure to fully read #translation-readme before signing up or asking any questions!
After you've fully read the channel, to contribute:
- Send a DM to @paper ledge requesting talk permissions for the feedback channel. This may take a few hours.
- Once you are granted talk permissions, you can go into the corresponding forum thread for the language you want to suggest or discuss improvements for.

- Added a Portraits Styles options to the Interface menu, with four distinct options: Detailed, Profile, Retro and Disabled.
- Added an Inventory Effects toggle to the Interface menu (disables the item flash when crafting).
- Added a Screen Shake toggle to the Video -> Effects menu.
- Added a Thunder Effects toggle to the Video -> Effects menu, which disables visual flashes from lightning (does not disable lightning strikes).
- Improved clipboard support on Linux.
Balance
- Storm lightning strike changes:
- Reduced damage to players from 200/300/400 on Classic/Expert/Master difficulty to 80/160/240. Legendary difficulty damage unchanged.
- Strike delay increased from 3.5 seconds to 4 seconds.
- Reduced player attachment range from three tiles to slightly less than one tile. Does not apply to Legendary difficulty.
- Strikes will no longer spawn directly in the path of fast moving players.
- Improved visuals of impending strike effect.
- Reduced the likelihood of lightning striking bodies of water.
- Strike frequency reduced when fishing, sleeping or fighting a boss.
- No longer appear during blizzards.
- Pylons no longer attract lightning.
- Visual effect intensity reduced for players who are behind walls.
- Villagers and pets now stay inside during thunderstorms.
- Lightning can now strike further from the player.
- Increased the appearance rate of Cattiva and Foxparks by 50%. Adjusted the ratio of 70% Cattiva - 30% Foxparks to 60% Cattiva - 40% Foxparks.

- Fixed a multiplayer crash involving waterfalls.
- Fixed a duplication glitch involving certain transformation mounts.
- Fixed .ZIP file based resource packs no longer working.
- Fixed the game being stuck in Halloween mode for the rest of the session once it becomes active. Spooky!
- Fixed distressed Foxparks' mouseover hitbox being much larger than intended.
- Fixed Music Boxes playing their record scratch sound effect when trying to record an unrecordable track (e.g. Rainbow Boulder).
- Fixed Toybreaker Bricks not breaking Sticky Glowsticks and certain Kites.
- Fixed petting, sleeping or sitting not resetting the Kite AFK timer.
- Fixed sloped Rainbow Bricks not using the correct sprite.
- Linux now automatically falls back to OpenGL where Vulkan is not fully supported.
- If the game doesn't launch/black screen, try /gldevice:OpenGL (or try repairing your Vulkan drivers).
- If the audio is dropping out, try /audiodriver:pulseaudio or /audiodriver:alsa (or try repairing your pipewire drivers).
- If none of those work, please submit a bug on the Terraia Community Forums.

- Unlocked Secret Seeds can now be toggled on and off via a new menu, accessed through the Secret Seed button.
- You can bulk buy and craft items in batches of 10 by holding Left Shift.
- You can now craft Pine Platforms from Pine Wood as well as Pine Tree blocks.
- Leashed kites and placed critters no longer break if they lack an anchor.
- Toybreaker Bricks now break Release Lanterns.
- Renamed the This is Canon Now painting to Brasilian Skies.
- The Constant + Skyblock seed worlds no longer display the Radio Thing's effect by default.
- Added 1.4.5's resprited sand piles' old versions to the Rubblemaker.
- Bad luck no longer breaks watches.
- The special rules for worlds with few blocks now (retroactively) only apply to worlds that were generated with the Skyblock seed.

- Fully Restored Whip's hitbox to match 1.4.4's, and adjusted the backswing's visuals to match it (The swing now always collides as if its up-to-down, for damage consistency).
- Improved Mushroom Staff's damage from 5 to 8. We're still keeping an eye on it.
- Improved Thunder Zapper's damage from 20 to 24.
- Reduced Flinx Fur Staff's Flinx Fur cost from 10 to 6 (same as pre-1.4.5).

Terraria 1.4.5.2 Console and Mobile Hotfixes
Thank you for your patience on our first Hotfix Patch! The patch for Terraria on Nintendo Switch will be released early next week, thanks for your patience!
Here is what's included in this update:
**General fixes: **
• Fixed the Stress Ball not working and require a restart
• Fixed an issue where swapping into the inventory from a chest would delete the swapped item in the chest
• Fixed a visual issue on the Stardust Guardian + an active minion was dyed with the critter shampoo, but where the pet slot had no dye
**Console fixes: **
• Fixed a crash when a Celestial Pillar’s shield is down, and the player is killed.
• Fixed a crash on PlayStation when a player attempted to Drag the sun before the player data has loaded.
• Fixed a crash when tethering a Faeling
• Fixed some Splitscreen issues where hoppers wouldn’t work and coin animations didn’t play correctly
**Mobile fixes: **
• Fixed Keyboard and mouse/trackpad support not working on iOS 26
• Fixed a black screen issue at start up
• Fixed tethering a Faeling in the world
**Known Issues: **
• Some items which should be sold in NPC shops are missing, fixed in the next patch!
• Crafty Achievement on Xbox and PlayStation are unobtainable due to changes in crafting stations, still under investigation.
• Quick/Similar Stacking into a full chest, any overflow is not being stacked and is being lost, this is still under investigation, please be careful!
• When making a creating character, the colours chosen may overwrite another character’s visuals in the list if you back out of the world select menu before making a new character.

- All secret seeds in the secret seed menu now feature descriptions, but don't read them, it's a secret!
- Added Classic Crafting Window back through a toggle. Right click on the Crafting Window button to toggle which window will appear. This selection is saved in settings as well.
- Added "Pause When Unfocused" setting. Disabling this allows singleplayer sessions to continue playing while focusing on other applications.
- Added a Dash Keybinding (default unbound), and a "Double Tap Dashing" toggle.
- Added an Armor Set Ability Keybinding (default unbound).
- Added Next Loadout and Previous Loadout Keybindings (default unbound). These cycle through all loadouts, and can help on gamepad.
- Invisibility Potion's effect now fully hides the player again, as it did in 1.4.4.9.

- Dedicated Server world creation menu no longer prompts for special seeds after entering a copied seed code.
- Mannequins can now display Minecarts.

- Underground Hallow in Remix can now spawn all Hallowed enemies, as intended.
- Party Bunnies now become Faelings when shimmered.

• If you have all the builder’s tools in the inventory, the Similar Stack/Quick Stack toggle is hidden in the tools popup, you can stash a tool in a chest as a temporary measure to get the button to appear

• A crash when researching items in certain circumstances is resolved
• A crash from posting “[ct:7,” in chat, when trying to add button code to chat no longer results in a crash
• Player creation overriding another character’s colours in certain circumstances no longer takes place
• Placing items on an item frame now refreshes crafting correctly
• Quick stack/similar stack option being hidden in the Tools menu when all tools are available no longer happens
• A few new items which couldn’t be researched are now researchable
• Favourite items no longer retain the favourite border when placed in a chest
• Sloped Rainbow Bricks now have correct visuals
• Camera Shake setting now correctly enables/disables camera shake
• Blinkroot / Shiverthorn are now replanted using the Staff of Regrowth
• Using Critter Shampoo and dye with a Finch staff no longer causes background and map visual issues
KNOWN ISSUES
• Bulk Buying/crafting is still being designed for console/mobile, a feature coming in a future update.

Hey all,
This post is kinda late since the official time for our server birthday was November 23, 2017 at 2:52 P.M., but it was Thanksgiving today so I was busy with other stuff. Anyways, this past year as Administrator of this discord has been an interesting one and I've learned a lot from running a community. I've met many wonderful people through here that I'm glad to have met and it's been a great year getting to know all of you.
I'd like to thank everyone in the community just for being here and supporting us over the past year, because without you guys we wouldn't really be a community. I'd also like to thank the amazing staff for helping me run this Discord, because I definitely would not be able to do it alone. Finally I'd like to thank the staff at Re-Logic for creating this great game that millions of people enjoy and some spend even thousands of hours playing.

Here's a tl;dr version: the console version is project to release before the end of this year! Pipeworks will work on fixing any bugs that you guys find! This year we will be holding the Terraria Discord's first ever giveaway event to celebrate both our 1 year anniversary (which was on November 23) and the winter holidays! It will include a series of different events so that everyone will have a chance to participate even if you aren't artisticly gifted or creative and for each event winners will receive a game such as Terraria, Stardew Valley, Nuclear Throne, and other prizes to be determined. All entries for the contests must be Christmas themed and original work! DM any staff member with your entries for the contests and remember to specify which event you are entering.
Event 1 - Holiday Themed Avatar and Name
The first event will be super simple! Change your avatar and name to something Christmas themed, take a screenshot of it and send it into #388848256060358657. (Only send a single image to enter the contest, anymore posts in the channel and you will be subject to punishment and potentially disqualified) This will enter you into a raffle to win a free game!
Event 2 - Art Contest
Second event will be an art contest. All entries must be original work created solely for this contest only (no previously created works are allowed!) and Christmas themed. Feel free to submit any type of art you want, including drawings, songs, poems, etc. Let your creativity flow! There will be two winners for this contest, a staff favorite and a community favorite and each winner will receive a free game.
Event 3 - Lego Building Contest
The next event is a LEGO building contest! Submit a photo of your holiday-themed LEGO builds with a way to verify yourself (paper with discord id and discriminator) on it. Entries must be original (no stealing!) and not be out-of-box builds (be creative!). Each member is allowed one submission and you are allowed to re-submit, but it will replace your previous entry. Winner chosen by staff will receive a free game!
Event 4 - Terraria Building Contest
Similar to our monthly build contests with a holiday theme for the builds. Teams of up to two are allowed, but you may do solo builds if you prefer. Winner(s) chosen by the staff will receive 2 games if solo, or if they decide to work in a duo, then each person will receive a game.
Event 5 - OSU! Holiday Contest

This will be updated when bugs and those things have been destroyed, but for the currently known bugs that haven't been squashed, there is a list of workarounds that others have found. Be sure to look there often to see if a bug you are experiencing has a solid workaround.

Over the last few weeks we have been getting an overwhelming number of requests from people wanting to apply for the Terraria Community Team. With so much talent we feel that it makes sense to allow a window of time for new members to apply and join the various branches.We have some really exciting new projects going on at the moment and we need all of the help we can get.
Just to go over some of the bigger projects: we are creating an Epic Battle Dryad bot which will have automated text battles, we have an XP TavernKeep Bot which will award XP to members based on Discord activity and accomplishments, we are creating official non-English Terraria communities for all of the major languages, we are creating a series of educational videos through the University Branch, we are creating Trivia questions and epic text battles through the Writing Branch, we are working on a weekly news broadcast covering everything Terraria related, we are exploring the secrets of the Terraria universe through the Lore Branch, we are creating 365 days worth of events with a custom Event Party Girl Bot, the Terraria version of Pokémon is coming to our Discord server with Terracord, we are creating epic Terraria merchandise and an art portfolio in the Art Branch, and we are even working on a Terraria card game bot. There is also so much more in addition to all of this!

Hello Terraria Community! We have an epic new Terraria project and monthly event that everyone can join! Our goal is to develop some of the best Terraria gifs. We want epic gifs. Here are some examples of things we would love to see, but there is limitless potential for others.
- We are looking for a gif that spells out Terraria with a tree in the front. In addition, the background of the gif will be a changing biome similar to our server icon.

The truth is, it is hard work being the Nurse, needing to be on call 24-7, being trapped in a box providing life saving heals for minimum coin, and doing all the heals in heels 👠 is not exactly an ideal work environment. We are extremely excited to begin giving out access to the Terraria Mobile beta tomorrow. We have had a great response from the community and we can't wait to jump into the Beta. After some testing we found out that the Android version of the mobile Beta can be hacked and the APK can be leaked online. Because of this reason Android will only be tested internally at this time. However, don't worry the Terraria mobile 1.3 update will still be coming out on Android and IOS at the same time. We are also doing this because we are getting much closer to the mobile update and we don’t want the Android community to get an unfinished version of the update. The IOS version of the open Beta will still be moving forward. We also plan on moving forward with the daily Beta giveaways until we announce the Beta release date!

Each set will only have 100 pins total. There is a series number on each pin. We are starting with the Terra Blade, Meowmere, and Megashark. We will not be selling these pins, but instead we will only be giving them out via very special events, rare giveaways, and our prize shop located on the official Terraria Discord server at Discord.gg/Terraria. Nintendo contacted us and offered to include Terraria in an upcoming top indies from 2019 sizzle video opportunity! We love our community and felt it would be cool to include some epic footage submitted by Nintendo Switch Terraria players. If you are interested in participating then submit a clip of your video to me directly at MrGameTheory#8778 - The kind of footage we want to see: traveling through epic builds, thrilling boss fights, and team play with lots of your friends.
There are specific guidelines and formatting requirements for the footage. If it doesn't meet all of these requirements then it will be rejected. We will only be reviewing footage and we will not be answering questions regarding how to record or meet the required guidelines. Please ask the community or look online if you have questions.
Requirements:
- The footage must be recorded on Terraria for Nintendo Switch. No exceptions.
- The last day to submit footage is Monday, December 2 at 2:00PM PST. Please submit ASAP.
- Format must be: h.264 preferred or Apple ProRes 422HQ.
- Resolution must be: 1920w x 1080h.
- Audio must be: Stereo, Linear PCM (48KHz 16 bit).
- Do not include background music.

There are specific guidelines and formatting requirements for the footage. If it doesn't meet all of these requirements then it will be rejected. We will only be reviewing footage and we will not be answering questions regarding how to record or meet the required guidelines. Please ask the community or look online if you have questions.
Requirements:
- The footage must be recorded on Terraria for Nintendo Switch. No exceptions.
- The last day to submit footage is Monday, December 2 at 2:00PM PST. Please submit ASAP.
- Format must be: h.264 preferred or Apple ProRes 422HQ.
- Resolution must be: 1920w x 1080h.
- Audio must be: Stereo, Linear PCM (48KHz 16 bit).
- Do not include background music.
- Do include sound effects.
- All submitted clips must be at most 15 seconds in length. Make sure you send only your best footage.

Version 1.4.0.2 Changes -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I. Changes/Additions
Added Master and Journey to command line options for the dedicated server
Ghosts should now be more likley to despawn, and reduced the conditions which allow them to spawn as well as the maximum number of them
Error logging should no longer create large DMP data files when the game crashes (We no longer use them)
II. Bug Fixes
Added some protection to ensure world gen works for users using different language PCs, but we are still investigating a more thorough fix
Fixed a number of issues where Terraria tries to make or modify folders, but User Side PC permissions prevented it from doing so, leading to crashes/errors
Fixed a crash relating sound initialization
Fixed a few autostart errors for the server
Fixed an issue with kicking players not actually being fully removed, preventing players from rejoining
Demon Altars can no longer spawn on rare configurations of adjacent cacti, which would crash the world if they were hit
Coins no longer have a sell value
Fixed an issue where Map Scale was impossibly low, resulting in some map related issues

We have officially reached the 400k member threshold on Discord . We are one of only a few servers in the history of Discord to reach such an amazing accomplishment. We couldn't have done it without each and every one of you. Thank you so much for being a part of the Terraria family and sharing this adventure with us. Congratulations once again to @fresh quail on becoming our 2020 Terraria Parkour Challenge Champion!
We are planning on hosting several big parkour events per year. If you are interested in helping to build the courses for these type of parkour events then send me a DM and I will add you to the event team responsible for parkour events.
Keep in mind that we are working on multiple parkour courses at the same time. If you are truly passionate about creating a course for the entire community, but you prefer to work solo and have major building skills, then you could potentially create your own course that can be used for one of our events.
We are also looking to expand the prize pool for winners to include more trophies, championship belts, free games, prize points, and more . This is only the beginning so if you are interested in helping with some awesome events for the entire Terraria community then this is your opportunity.

Greetings Terrarians! We are truly excited to announce the upgrade of a massive community feature we are rolling out today. Some of you have had the opportunity already to help with testing the Alliance Bot in the #alliance-events channel over the last few months. We have had some fun battles with the TCT and Ghostrunner servers during the testing phase and we are finally ready to take everything to the next level. Starting today we will begin to have Alliance Trivia battles with the discord.gg/warframe server and we couldn't be more excited for the awesome new features that are rolling out 
.
The Alliance Bot will soon function to enable season style battles between multiple communities! In addition, there will be a server leaderboard keeping track of server stats in these alliance trivia matches. All of the servers who join the Alliance Bot network will battle all of the other servers within the Alliance Bot network in a persistent season. As the Alliance Bot network expands all participating servers will face an increasing list of servers ready for battle. One of our goals is to introduce our community to other great communities and vice versa. Overtime we will also develop additional fun events and games that can be enjoyed by those in the Alliance Bot network in this server vs server format. Who knows, maybe one day this will lead to a global server tournament with some major prizes.
Today is only the beginning, but if you have a chance then please stop by the #alliance-events channel and see if you can correctly answer some of the trivia. We are currently evaluating other servers to introduce into our Alliance Bot network so stay tuned for more updates .

Our next Discord event is a Summer Alliance Art Contest!

The rules are simple: create Summer themed art that can also incorporate the theme of your community as well. Everyone will have until July 3 at 12PM PST to submit their entry to the event. You only need to submit your entry in one server. After all submissions have been received we will then add them to a Google form and open voting to the Discord servers of all participating communities. Voting will also last for a week.
Rules:
• You must submit an image/GIF.
• It must be your own original work.
• No NSFW submissions.
The top 10 voted winners will each win prizes that they will get to pick from a prize pool. Our goal is to have some fun and start working together with other big communities on fun collaboration events. An Eye for An Eye is a crossover collaboration with Klei Entertainment's Don't Starve Together.
A while back during a Reddit AMA to Celebrate Terraria's 10th Anniversary, Re-Logic was asked a simple question. If they could collaborate with any other game franchise, what game would it be? To Klei's surprise and excitement, Don't Starve Together was mentioned in response.
A short while later Klei reached out to see if this was something we would be interested in, and off things went. Immediately - and I mean, immediately, both teams started spitting out ideas for what we could do and quickly figured out how to work around our planned schedules to make it happen.
For both teams, we saw this opportunity not just as a fun diversion between two studios but also something we thought our fans would really get a kick out of. It was also important that these experiences be additive to our respective games and authentic to each game's design goals.

Hello Terrarians!
As many of you know, famous YouTuber and Streamer @flint wing stepped away from the spotlight sometime ago. We are excited to finally reveal why. He has been very busy creating a brand new movie production company, demize.gg productions! We are proud to announce that the first movie this new studio will create will be the official Terraria movie! And everyone here gets a special sneak peak at the promotional poster. This movie will be covering some brand new, never before seen lore, so after two long years the wait is finally over! The movie will feature exciting fight scenes from your favorite bosses like Wall of Flesh and the Moon Lord, your favorite NPCs like the Zoologist and Guide will also star in the movie, along with everyone's favorite main character Terraria Steve as he goes on his journey through the Terraria world!
We are also excited to share with you our new streaming service Terraria+. The brand new Terraria movie will be only available on this new platform and the basic subscription starts from $100 a month. We understand this is a bit more expensive than other services, so we will be running a special promotion where you will be able to get a $5 discount on your first month’s subscription.
We understand this is exciting news and you all will want to discuss it, so we’ve temporarily created a new channel at #terraria-the-movie for you all to talk about it and share your thoughts and theories.

The Terraria team is thrilled to be participating in the United Servers of Discord Alliance’s first Guilds For Hope charity fundraiser! We’re teaming up with many other communities to raise money for Give Kids The World Village, an 89-acre, whimsical nonprofit resort in Central Florida that provides critically ill children and their families from around the world with magical week-long wish vacations at no cost.

Half of all critically ill children eligible for a wish choose to visit Central Florida and its world-famous theme parks. Guilds for Hope is the ultimate collaboration between USDA guilds, providing an opportunity for each community to positively impact thousands of children and families each year. This fundraising event officially begins August 1, but teams can register now!
Together, let's try and raise as much money as possible to help support GKTW. Once you open the Team Fundraiser link below, you can either donate to the Terraria team goal, or you can register as a fundraiser for a team. You can also create your own team!
