Beide Optionen machen Sinn mMn. Aber "Deutsch", großgeschrieben, passt hier besser
also du hast recht
I see
Danke
Hallo wie geht es dirr?
@trail locust was sind or waren deine Ankiseinstellungen
Does anyone play VRChat and has any German learning groups they recommend?
Hallo
Hi wie geht's ihnen
Danke
Hello anybody would like to have conversations in german?
Viel Glück!
„Hallo! […] Aha, ein <gewähltes Geschlecht> bist du also! Habe ich das richtig verstanden? […] Jetzt wüsste ich noch gern, wie du heißt. Verrate mir doch bitte deinen Namen! […] <Name des Spielers> heißt du also. Ist das richtig? […] <Name des Spielers>…
yeah there's quite a few words in there i've never seen before, but through context it's not that difficult to understand. you're in for a whole lot of pain tho!
I think I'm going to just... jump to B1+ level reading if I keep trying to earnestly go through this.
Lol
I'm looking up about 10% of words actually. You are right that context clues (including game audio/sounds) are helping a LOT.
So I'm able to make intelligent guesses at a lot of things. It also helps that I know what the intro to Pokemon is supposed to be saying...
Like what?
bevölkert, Vielfalt, Eintracht, gewidmet
Möchtest du das Spiel speichern?
Why does subjunctive keep coming up in this?
I'm glad that I kinda-sorta read about it...
do u know the diff between this vs "wollen'' in a similar manner?
a1 words
Because it's polite speech.
Konj II used for politeness is an A1 topic because it's very common.
As in subjunctive wollen? Not really.
I understand that subjunctive is basically the difference between "could" vs "can" in English.
well no. like base pointed out, the subjunctive is used for polite speech. it's ''would you like to'' vs ''do you want to''
Ah, I see.
it could've said ''willst du das Spiel speichern'' but that's less friendly
Well, its sink or swim. That's like 8 or 9 subjunctive conjugations already.
It should mostly be the same verbs.
Or are you saying there's already 9 different verbs?
Hmmm, sein and können (from my memory).
But it feels new because I never studied it yet.
Möchtest as well.
and würde
Wäre, hätte, würde, möchte, sollte, könnte. These are the main really common ones. Not sure if I forgot any...
Maybe not that one
dürfte and wüsste but those are less common
Ja and not sure if they would be likely in the context of this game.
i would do this but the only thing is i only know the pokémon names in English, so the German ones would trip me up
that one time @sturdy shadow tried to get me to guess German pokémon names and i hardly got any
Well, I'm not going to be competitive in German Pokemon
But I can hopefully beat Elite4.
and other in-game stuff.
Pokemon aren't even the hard ones, the hundreds of attack-names that are now changed is the bigger deal...
THE ATTACKS
I DIDN'T EVEN THINK ABOUT THOSE
OH NO
and esp cuz they change things between gens vis-a-vis move powers and effects and stuff
AND the fact that gen 5 introduced a BUNCH of new pokes and moves
lol i'm assuming that's Leer
It had the sound effects of leer.
But the text scrolled too fast, I can't read if the defense fell >_<
yeah the description checks out
''Opponent's Defense value is decreased through frightening gaze''
Verteidigung is defense
I know the words Wert, wird, durch and Blick.
lol
aight, its really late. I'll call it here.
Gute Nacht! Ich hoffe, du fängst morgen mehr Pokémon™!
It was fun
huh, curious that it doesn't use the word Stufe
durch angsteinflößenden Blick
Angst = fear
einflößen = instill
Through fear-instilling gaze
YOU ARE PLAYING POKEMON IN GERMAN?

hello i am new here
You Are welcome
@rough coral I found an example of the "infinitive verb in position 1" in speech in this video: https://youtu.be/cRTLJW4uvTE?si=P9pJxiZ7GagrgiIt&t=336
Start at the time stamp, but it occurs at 5:46
Feststellen muss man allerdings, dass sich in den letzten zwei Jahren Erhebliches verändert hat, dass die innenpolitische Situation in den USA aufgeladener ist, und dass das Thema der Demokratie immer weiter in den Hintergrund rückt.
The video has English subtitles; try just listening first and not looking at them.
anyone like warhammer here?
In what sense? I've read some of the novels and played a bit of Rogue Trader
rlly anything, ive just finished painting one nid from a kit my friend bought me and was just thinking about warhammer
I don't do the actual board game stuff
Ich habe allerdings einein Friend, der sowas gerne malt.
das ist in ordnung, hast du ein lieblingsfraktion?
Na ja, ich glaube, ich kenne alle Fraktionen nicht.
Ich habe mal die Romane von Ciaphas Cain gelesen, darin gab es eine Spezies Außerirdischer, die nicht verrückt klangen 😄

Fun story. My #1 introduction to German was "Learn German in your car", some audiobook that was in Spottify that I thought would let me learn German.
It was 100% audio based.
It taught that to say that you wanted something, you'd say "Ich möchte ..."
To an absolute beginner.
Anyway, I learn mögen as an irregular verb later, mess up my conjugation forever (wait, mag?? I thought it was möchte?!?!?).
And now back to my "Pokemon" based studies, I'm coming across subjunctive / Konjunktiv II so much that I'm studying. And lo and behold. Its my old friend...
All the way back to "möchte".
Took me long enough to figure out wtf was going on here.
Hi Vik, where have you been so long?
Hi Primax
@pure bronze you are still here
Can you give me a quote for today?
Hi
@pure bronze to do great things you have to dream big and start small.
@pure bronze where are you from primax
I am from here
Where are you from?
India
@pure bronze actually I may visit amsterdam for one or two days.
Do you want to come to meet
And im not from here
@hushed arch I just saw your mail about au pair can you tell me more about it.
Ich bin ganz müde von allem diesem Roboter, die mich auf discord addieren.

Two different conjugations?
Ugghhhhhhhhh
Its like the crap with Worte vs Wörter.
a homonym for the root word, but actually two different words after conjugation or pluralization (or new forms)
Ich behaupte das ist gebräuchlicher
Und das ist altmodisch
Anyone has tips on how to make my German study more effective? I try to read texts from A2 and B1 (Das Leben) books every day, at least one hour. But I feel that just reading and understanding the german sentences is not enough
The simple starting point is that you should cover all these skills: reading, writing, listening, speaking, grammar and vocab.
So maybe try adding some writing tasks and, if you're not doing it already, some grammar exercises.

I had a vocabulary question for natives… would the term “Giestchen” be understood as a diminutive for “Geist” as in “little spirit” … I searched it and only got results for an insect so guess that’s its formal or colloquial name… is the diminutive term strictly used for the insect?
it a A.I generated?
How much can you understand by the end? My understanding basically goes out by the 5th paragraph.
talking abut the Danish language (old Norse)
they used to refer it as "Danish" in the 900s-1000s

the Normans didn't impact the English language among the commoners until some 200 years later
in the 1200s to early 1300s middle English was still kinda similar to old English amongst the "peasants"
it took some time for the commoners to adapt the changes obviously right?
back then you had no toktik

Hallo

Average German vocabulary word: teilnehmen
Hmmm, "part" compound word with "to take". I wonder what it could mean.
guys where can i get info about attending lectures?
what even happens here
Hallo, ist es möglich Tandem zu finden hier? Ich würde gern praktisch reden mit Leuten

Ich habe nicht für 5 Tagen Deutsch gelernt. Ich fühle, als vergass ich alles
aber ich brauchte auch eine Pause. bleh
ja
danke
I just learned about this
Now I wonder about all the little German-specific body language I'm not getting right now.
I know about counting one two three is thumb, index finger then middle finger for example.
These seem like the things I can really only learn if I traveled to Germany.
Its rarely done in person
Its more of a proverb
Du bist ja was besonderes
😭 hallo was bedeutet das
Kann man viel reininterpretieren
genau 😭😭
💀💀💀
you don't celebrate birthdays or have no birthday just
I don't have my birthday today 😭
"soll" is das konjugierte Verb.
wtf 😅
you just need the first three

@graceful briar @outer sigil come to groupe 3
@hasty socket Pokéballe ??
diese Pokéballe ?
Its... pluralized in German.
Mit diesen Pokéballen ?
OMFG
Okay, I'm starting this over lol
I need to screenshot this.
the German for ''balls'' is ''Bälle'' so it would be Pokébälle
-# unless they intentionally changed it to Pokéballe
@sturdy shadow kannstes bestätigen?
weil du diese Spiele gespielt hast lol hab noch nie
ja i was right
wait
Yes
thats dative
well, ''mit'' requires dative case
dative plural is the -n case, with -n on everything as applicable
-n gets added in the plural dative
UMLAUT!
FLYZÖ
fangen vs einfangen?
In a real conversation, I have to do all of that IN MY HEAD.
I swear this just keeps coming up more and more.
both work
i would assume ''ein-'' means ''in'' like it usually does
so ''einfangen'' = to capture (in/inside something)
fangen so far
einfangen here
Gosh, now I wonder if I missed the "ein" earlier....
I think at this point you should definitely be past the chart-checking stage (at least for definite/indefinite articles). If not, you should go back and learn the declensions properly.
Had to rewind a bit lol. But I did remember correctly. She says zu fangen, fängt, then einfangen.
Yeah, just double checking.
it must be a distinction that's more specific in german, cuz i see no reason why they wouldn't use one or the other consistently
devil's in the details
''fängt'' is just a conjugation of ''fangen''
the difference is einfangen is more specific about the "catching"
like its more explicit about the being caught in soemthing part
On my bad days, I still get sie and ihr, mixed up.
The reason is: it's a natural language and many words have synonyms, even exact synonyms, in every language.
But yeah, in this case, its mostly that Pokebälle vs Pokebällen was confusing me.
not so much the article.
Making a mistake is different from feeling like you have to check a chart every time.
we already explained this. dative plural requires -n if applicable
The ending is part of the declension that you learn when you learn the article.
i js say whatever sounds right and hope for the best 🙏
like in english when ppl use your instead of youre
I would suggest to learn it properly. It will make it easier for you overall.
that's just an error. not quite the same here
i know it js forget it from time to time
minor spelling mistake
Sure, like I said, making mistakes is fine.
But you shouldn't feel like you're actually guessing.
i mean, unless you're proficient in a language, there are bound to be things u say that contain guesses. like, where to put nicht or if this verb is correct or not for the context
I meant specifically: you shouldn't feel like you're guessing the article. If you feel like that, you should go back and relearn it.
ah
Hallo
Does anyone have music commendations , preferably rock/metal , in German?

Hi I'm looking for a person who is from Cologne in Germany, I wanna send a message to a special person for me, but unfortunately I live far from Germany. If you are from that city or know someone from there, I personally would be thankful 🙏This chat is my only chance, I don't know what else to do. Thanks advance
What kind of message?
I just want her to know that I haven't forgotten her.
That's all
I already wrote in many servers, I searched for 1,000 people, I almost lost all hope
Why don’t you write her a message?
As far as I know, she deleted all her social media
I see.
U really don't have to, but if u know someone from there I personally would be thankful 🙏🏻
I got a friend request from one person who was trying to help but since I'm an idiot i accidentally rejected
<@&305455824174710787>
hello
auf diese Weise
Accusative???
Ugggghhhhh
The abstract stuff I'm still getting Akk vs Dativ incorrect
That's something that you learn forever. It's more like a vocab thing. So you will get that wrong for a long time still.
as for as i know 'auf' uses way more accusative than dative when it is not about location

Hello folks I'm new and glad to be here please correct any of my mistakes, may it be grammar, spelling, or pronunciation so happy to be learning here
Hello everyone can anyone recommend a good source for me to learn german?

hi is there anyone relatively new to the language or has just started learning german?
Me
i have been learning for like 2 months now and its like i have hit a wall, i know few words but feel like there are many gaps in my learning, also as i advance it keeps getting more complex , do you have any suggestion for that
😭
Like what?
Do you have an example
lets say i am following the learn german a1 series from yt , and i am currently on dativ case in personal pronoun, but i am still not confident in making sentences , i always mess up the structure and sometimes even use the wrong form of verb or articles
Yea that is something you slowly learn
basically , it feels overwhelming to learn new things when i am not confident with the part i have learned already
how do you learn german?
I spent like a week looking for a resource to learn the basics and i still haven't found a good one
I feel stupid that i relied on apps and forgot yt tnx buddy
np
I personally love using the DW learn deutsch website, it's free and they a lot of lessons with videos/quizzes etc... :))))
Their structure is great
confirmed, dw learn deutsch is a GOAT
i have recently discovered the german pod website , i think its pretty well structured as well , they also offer flashcards and all
Good. You should always feel like you're running into walls (and new walls) because there really is so much to learn here.
For actually measuring progress, I suggest repeating "something". For me, it was Kinderlieder at first. I recognized that I understood more-and-more of some songs the more I studied.
Then I was reading (repeatedly), Cafe in Berlin. Then I started listening to normal German music / pop songs (pop-songs are easier than most other music, because they focus on more common words).
I feel like I'm close to calling myself A2, I feel like my new challenges are "normal" German kid stuff, such as the Pokemon game, real German media like the Maus cartoon, real German Youtube videos, etc. etc.
Most Kinderlieder will require focus and study for you in the A1- level, and even into A2+ level. One's vocabulary just never grows quickly enough, and so many of these Children songs have so much vocabulary... even if their grammar structure is relatively simple.
her a1 series is pretty good. I used it and it set a good foundation for me. But... you must pair it with another source of vocab (you can learn more words either by reading stories, or using an a1 anki deck)
It's also good to put the words you learned into use so yeah. Practice speaking + writing
then finally, expose yourself as much as possible to the language (reading + listening)
It's a slow process but you will make progress overtime
and making mistakes is perfectly fine. That means your operating at the edge of your comfort zone. Good.
oh thanks for the suggestions
i'll make sure to check those out, sounds like a great way to learn
for writing i sometimes ask chatgpt to chat in simple german or even give me sentences to translate
I recommend chatting more in #german-only or #beginner-german . You're writing will progress better that way imo since you'll be having real convos
also this goes without saying but, your progress will be greater as you spend more time learning :p
But don't burn yourself out since it will be diminishing returns from the point of exhaustion
ybashie mit der lila farbe
A1+ German learner here. A huge part of my studies over the last 3 months have
been songs, specifically Kinderlieder (aka: Children Songs). I’ll list off my
recommended songs for beginners and my overall opinions of them here. I’ll order
songs roughly by difficulty. Beginners should start at the top of the list and
work their way down. From ...
I made a list here
Das stimmt
aber mein Deutsch braucht noch mehr Entwicklung damit ich als "stark B1" gelten kann
hello
How are you?
i'm good wbu?
🧠 Going to germany in 2 days. In North rhine to learn at a Deutsche intensive school for a year. Any stores youd recommend id put on my visit list? That's common in germany?
sehr danke.
All I can give is good fortune to be onto you.
(Bc I’m not German)
I kinda did see something about a place in dusseldorf.
Danke!
yo
Not sure which city you'll be at in NRW but the the chocolate museum in Köln and the Haribo store in Bonn are both fun if you have the chance. Also, ask the locals for a Dönerladen recommendation. Have fun! 🙂
Another kind german said Köln is a must visit while im in the area if i get time for the Church thats there so Ill put this on this list thank you.
The church is amazing! You should 100% visit it. One of Germany's most iconic sites to visit and it's actually pretty close by foot to the museum. That whole region is great for day trips because there are so many different large cities that can all be reached within a few hours by train. When I studied there for a year in university my school offered a special student-only semester train pass that lets you travel anywhere in NRW on any bus, train, or street train. Definitely grab that if it is made available to you.
i dont think its available for me but it's okee! I already found a way to pay for the deutsche bahn monthly tickets without a I ban yet! Ill also look for a museum too thank you.
<@&305455824174710787> das sehe ich immer
und bist mittlerweile nicht reich?
Das österrichische Gerichte schmeckt mir <----- My tongue HATES this phrase. Apparently I need to practice this a million times tonight.
I always had problems with ö and r together in the same sentence, and apparently I'm discovering I'm also bad at "ch" into "sch"
Like I can do all these sounds individually, but there's something about all of those lined up together that my tongue / mouth gets confused... kinda like a tongue twister.
to be frank I also still have trouble with saying the word österreichische quickly. It's because there is both a „ch“ followed by the „sch“ and I end up either saying them as both „ch“ or both „sch“ lol. Maybe targeted shadowing could help? Like you could listen to a native-speed clip and try to repeat it at the same speed? Or you could even try your hand at some Zungenbrecher (tongue-twisters)
I think I'm now okay with the word in isolation, now I need to find a full sentence to copy or something.
It's also different when it's a full sentence and my mind is thinking of other things, rather than being 100% focused on just one word....
The "Gerichte" adds another complication for my tongue...
shadowing may really help you then cause you probably need to hear the Sprachmelodie and everything all together. You can find a youtuber and pause the video every time then say a sentence, then repeat it back. Ideally this would be native-speed content and not super beginner-level stuff but i'm not sure how comfortable you are with listening yet
I've been listening to news, poorly
I'm comfortable with native speed even if I'm missing a lot of words.
My brain no longer explodes at native speeds lol.
That was a problem for weeks...
how about just writing some original sentences next to it then trying to see if you can do it whilst reading aloud like a proper paragraph
that's good, I think targeted shadowing would really benefit you then. Ive found that after a while, stuff becomes „chunked“ in my mind, where phrases start to become the blocks instead of individual words, and this makes it easier to say stuff quickly
muscle memory my beloved
yes 100%. I have a lot of set phrases or fillers that I can just say automatically without thinking
I think one major problem I am developing is that I'm getting used to not understanding things at full speed
So it's somewhat becoming a bad habit, where sometimes something within my capabilities comes up but my brain is lazy or something? And decides I shouldn't be listening.
But it's less of a problem than completely shutting down in the face of native speed talk.
hm. I think I had a period like this around month 4-5 in. I don't think it's particularly a bad habit, as long as you're aware of it. I was assaulting my ears with stuff that I probably shouldn't have been listening to at my level back then, and was only getting the main points. I think it's ok to throw in the occasional hard stuff as long as you are also listening to stuff you can get 80%+ comprehension on
i wouldn't say your brain is lazy tho, the content was maybe just a little too hard
Yeah, I definitely shouldn't do too much hard stuff. But the deer in headlights feeling was too annoying lol.
So I felt the need to just overwhelm myself and get used to it.
I think this is pretty common among learners. I also went through the phase of freezing up when I needed to listen to native speakers and getting frustrated I wasn't understanding 100%. With more listening I think this will pass for you too
Rewind + slow speed helps so much in this.
.75 speed or even .5 speed.
I am actually at 5th month, so right on schedule with you lol
yeah that's true, but at least for me, I just accepted that I wouldn't catch every word, and just learned to let go a little, yk?
haha cool, your level is tbh probably the hardest and most frustrating
I'm at 1 yr and like 3 months and just now feel like I'm getting comfortable listening to a wide variety of native speakers/ accents / etc. So it takes a long time, just trust the process and your ears will do the rest
Hi
Hallo everyone wie geht’s
@grizzled blaze Hi i checked ur email. I changed basically all of it and not based on your grammar. but how to talk in a proper official mail. sorry its alot. msg for questions
Hab ich vor einiger Zeit gewohnt aber bin umgezogen
Hallo I'm David, I'm from Chile, also learning German, I'm looking for people to practice, I'm currently doing A1 level
I am A1, too
Ich werde dieser Sommer nach Deutschland reisen!! Ich bin so aufgeregt!!!
Hallo zusammen!

Good morning. 😌
How are you?
Tired, how are you?
Still sick, but at least back at school.
Well, have a good day then.
You too.
how does it work
You can go here: https://discord.com/channels/221708975698083841/1467147685915267073
The first post is a templet you can copy to post data about yourself in the thread. Or you scroll through the thread and look at all the other people who try to find a learning partner and contact them via ping in the server or asking for a friend request since we don't allow DMs between not friends in this server.
^ <@&305455824174710787> might be a good idea to do an FAQ for this. If we don't already have one.
thanks alot .
hello too.
The FAQ is the first post of the thread.
Fair. I thought of a short FAQ for the FAQ like >how find study partners? —> link, short explanation to use the template and actual month.
Is there any website for this server?
What do you mean by website?

anyone have any decent recommendations on german language podcasts [that arent specifically geared to language learning but] just on general topics?
nicos weg you tube
Hi
Danke dieser Beispiel ist interessant, weil nicht auch auf dem ersten Platz steht
Ja ich höre das er "feststellen" auf den ersten Platz gestellt hat.
Ich habe Felis Videos vielmal geschaut, ich wusste nicht das sie Video auf Deutsch hat.
Es ist erlaubt auf Deutsch in diesem Channel zu schreiben?
Will i learn german if i journal in german?
its a good way imo you just need some way to figure out whether youre making mistakes or not (checking stuff you're unsure about in DeepL or a dictionary or letting people correct you on https://www.reddit.com/r/WriteStreakGerman/)
Um genauer zu sein:
"Nicht verwechseln" steht auf dem ersten Platz, "nicht" ist nicht alleine da.
1 (Nicht verwechseln)
2 sollte
3 man
klar
Jetzt, wo sie wieder in Deutschland lebt, macht sie anscheinend "Street Interviews", die dann notwendigerweise auf Deutsch sind.
Ich verstehe das, ich wollte einfach nicht so genau sein
Ah interesssnt
Es ist immer interessant mit Leuten die sich fuer Sprachwissenschaft interessieren zu reden
Ich erwähne es, weil es eigentliche eine Regel ist, dass "nicht" nicht alleine auf erstem Platz stehen darf.

@trail locust my writing is improving but my reading is worsening
. i know this because i am now getting much less " mistakes " corrected in the writings i give my teacher but i am taking way longer than everyone else when we do reading exercises. main issue is that i do highlight words i do not know while they don't.
also i have no idea how to cope with the advanced vocabularly of c1
there are so so so so many new words and i can barely keep up with them, anki is not enough. now i know you're gonna say read more and more and i am trying but it's just TOO MANY NEW WORDS IN ONE LESSON
hallo
Lets play WORDLE
whats wordle
Okay .... I think I'll take a break now lol
So many words to learn, lol.
I'm about 10x to 15x slower than native readers, because I'm looking up so many words...
I'm feeling like I'm getting the hang of reading above my level though. Trying to use context clues to figure out the meanings of words, so that I minimize my time using the dictionary....
Me in english
Yo
Hi I'm looking for a person who is from Cologne in Germany, I wanna send a message to a special person for me, but unfortunately I live far from Germany. If you are from that city or know someone from there, I personally would be thankful 🙏This chat is my only chance, I don't know what else to do. If I would know another way I wouldn't bother u. Thanks advance

I think this character is meant to be over the target audience's head. An untrustworthy scientist.
Most sentences fully fit in the two lines given. This character is an abnormality. Plus he has scary villain music
If anything, the two lines at a time gives me confidence that most lines are going to be easier to translate.
This is this characters introduction. If it's really a kids game, these words (like schinden and qualen) will repeat in the future, offering a learning opportunity for this vocabulary.
Has anyone E-book in english, please, but like good books?
quälen = torture. Irgendwie bezweifle ich, dass diese Wort mehrere Male vorkommen wird 😅
ich hab's merhmals in verschiedenen romanen gesehen
hab weniger als 10 gelesen
nicht gerade ein nischenwort
Hi I'm going to Berlin next week what are some things to do there?
To visit Reichstag
And the Berlin Wall
Have you ever seen anyone crying at the Berlin Wall?
Cry because of beautifulness of this wall
wer sind die beiden herren?
Ok thx bro
Was für Romane? Ich lese fast ausschließlich Fantasy, vielleicht spielt das eine Rolle?
Clearly the Pokemon Weiße novel!
I dont know how Ive never thought about doing this, gotta play peak gen 5 again
what is that
das kam aus dem parfum wenn ich mich daran richtig erinnere
tfw nicht jean-baptiste grenouille
if you say weiße you have to say edition too
otherwise pokemon weiß
weiße only makes sense when behind a noun
hast du dir die beiden filme und die serie angeschaut?
That answers a lot of questions I had actually.
as for the eszett
the reason why there's none is because
when capitalized germans use SS instead of ẞ
because capital ẞ looks terrible
Ah.
I didn't even see "edition" until you pointed it out btw. Lol
It's just Pokemon White in English.
yea thats what i remember too
but upon googling i found out that, it does say "white version"
people just dont care about that ig
ẞ- most hated character
i almost feel sad for it
but it does look ugly
what can i say
was machst du grad?
https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Großes_ß

@tepid coral Thank you for completely rewriting my email. Upon seeing how you "corrected" it, I showed it to my teacher. I thought I was completely failing at writing emails at B2 level. When he saw your "corrections", he laughed and called it BS and told me to ignore it.
Your writing was grammatically correct, but your sentences were nonsense or ridiculous. He said it looked like a C1 speaker trying to show off their language. You rewrote my letter and in doing so you failed to meet the requirements of the task.
Your email (since you completely rewrote mine so it wasn't even mine anymore) is a perfect example of how a B2 complaint email should NOT look like.
Please do us all learners a favour and do not correct any more writing exercises. Because you are doing more harm than actually helping somebody.
No offense and thank you ☺️
who hurt you
Somebody who should NOT be correcting others
passiver wortschatz mein geliebter
🤣🤣🤣
dativ, mein lieber
😳
Kartoffelecke, aren't you paying attention? 😛
sollte eine B2-e-mail nach dummen Regeln geschrieben werden
darf man wirklich keine kreativität darin stecken
bro was being unnecessarily rude, dont let it get to you
That just means in my eyes that B2 means failing a complaint and getting revoked by certain companies forever but I get that it was too high then for B2
If it wasnt to his learning standard i get that
The only good thing about the COMPLETELY rewritten email is the grammar and ✨️ fancy ✨️ words
If a German teacher says that it's bad, its bad
Okay 💕
Can we see the rewritten email, so we can judge it?
There can be a thing that happens where you end up using overly fancy words in a way that ends up triggering an "uncanny valley" situation
corporate speak in which official emails are written is uncanny valley anyway
aint nobody speaking like dat
I do understand the concern though makes sense
they're a specific kind of uncanny valley
well we cant know unless we see it
Like meeting the criteria of "mention all the things that went wrong". Also suggesting solutions and what you want
Hence why I asked if we could see the rewritten email
Hey!! . How can I join the VCS
@wet heron, please read the Roles section in #getting-started for info on how to join VC and more.
Well i could provide it as someone leaked it by declining it but i cant leak it without leaking myself 🤣
Not worth my attention
what does that mean?
without dox'ing yourself?
I don't understand how that would dox you, but okay
My own mails
you could just copy the important part and paste it here
And no it would need 15 crops
leaving out any personal info
@bold pelican
Like if someone were to write in English and said,
"My most esteemed supervisor,
To my regret, I must inform of an unfortunate incident that transpired on the 5th of February of this year. I was traipsing through the halls of our venerable corporate headquarters, when I chanced upon a free breakfast buffet. Never being one to turn down an hors d'oeuvres, I gladly devoured two delectable donuts. To my horror, I discovered mere moments later that the signage adjacent to the baked good indicated that they were reserved for a specific liaison that was to occur that afternoon.
With utmost genuineness, I seek penance for my misdeed.
Smell ya later,
Bob"
I have screenshots gimme a sec
