I do recommend, with qualms. Pronunciation is NOT perfect. Double check with Wikitionary for pronunciation. Edit: the first 200 words were the least frequent words (!!!!!). You need to reorder this deck before they are usable.

Well, practice makes perfect.....

I'm still at Deepl + Wikitionary back-and-forth level. But I figure the practice will make me better... even if its computer assisted...

It feels like my main problem is now speed: listening speed, speaking speed, writing speed, reading speed.

I have a usable vocabulary now (~400+ words or so according to Anki?). And more-often than not, I'm beginning to look up my listening-practice material and realizing that I actually know all the words (but fail to understand)

Maybe I'm reaching the point where I should just watch Nicos Weg on a loop, over-and-over.

Until I'm able to just instantly pickup everything with less effort.

In English we sometime put extra adverbs or whatever at the start, separated by a comma. German doesn't do that. German puts that thing in position 1 instead.

And "ich" isn't capitalised unless it's the start of a sentence.

I personally would say you need to work a bit more on fundamentals before worrying about speed. Since you've rushed pretty fast through the grammar, you will have a lot of gaps and stuff that isn't concrete yet in your mind, so focussing on speed won't work well until you smooth that out a bit.

Although the solution for that is still practicing. Just with a different goal.

Usually your first week of grammar is like... noun gender, then present tense verbs, then verb in position 2 word order rule.

Sure. The book you're using doesn't use a sensible order of topics.

And doesn't give enough info or practice.

So you will have to go back and review that info since you didn't spend enough time on it the first time.

I get that word order is important but its not in a place in any of my current study material.

Nicos Weg is slightly different because it's not purely a grammar resource. It starts with a higher than usual amount of memorising set phrases rather than grammar, since it's kinda like a blend of normal learning and travel language learning.
