If someone going to be 5 or more minutes late, I would expect a message saying so, Before they're late. I will text a friend (not mad, but I will lol) if they're a minute past the scheduled time to ask where they are.

I don't find arriving early rude, I prefer to be early. Though for me this depends on how early I guess.
Using the hosting example again: showing up a bit early to my house for an event In hosting is fine (~15 mins) but obviously showing up Too early is a bit annoying, if I'm not prepared yet.
For lateness, I agree with Narr, just let me know beforehand if you're gonna be late. I can understand a few times where if someone is driving, like you said, and they can't safely call or text me. If someone is consistently doing this, that's when it becomes a problem. I have some friends who just really struggle to be on time and at this point I expect them to be late so I plan things earlier than I want them to happen. It's still rather annoying though

Yeah, I speak 3 languages: English, German, Spanish. Though honestly I say I'm fluent in no languages at this point with how mixed they all become
For English, I learned British English formally. But my mother spoke American English and everyone else in her family spoke Irish English.
For German I learned Hochdeutsch and spoke a Pälzisch dialect at home.
Spanish, I learned a Venezuelan dialect first, but I understand other dialects as well.

I understand French but I never speak it. I know some Italian from living there, and I learned a bit of Korean and some stuff in a few other languages for fun.
And I'm currently learning ASL, roughly at an A2 equivalent. So I'm not great but I'm getting better

Any sort of sparring is great. Good exercise, usually mentally engaging, and sports are a good way to bond with folks

I miss still being in school and having sports teams
football (or soccer, for the Americans and Canadians) and volleyball were so fun
