has anyone tried reading Inkheart in german? how beginner friendly is it?

I've seen it recommended for like, late beginner/early intermediate but that seems to mean different things to different people. The articles I read weren't referring to any specific proficiency levels

Any novel will be difficult for a beginner. It depends how comfortable you are relying on a dictionary, and whether you're okay committing to a long piece of text or having to read slowly. Some people get frustrated about that, so it's good to consider if that's for you or not.

But aside from that, it's a good first novel.

You should just read a couple of pages and see what you think.

I'm a Polish native speaker, so I think that I'm able to make the difference between a Polish verb and a Polish adjective xD

Every language has its weirdnesses and some unusual things that for other people make almost no sense. I could possibly send you all the irregural verbs of the english language, and i would claim "look how hard english is!", when it actually isn't. It's just a thing of perspective and how you make it to look, nothing more than that. Of course it's gonna be hard at first, but a wall of text makes everything look harder, than it actually is, because we have no idea where we need to look.
