Thank you for sharing. I actually read over some of this. This was also why I was asking if there was a way to hire the staff. Because most making posts “for hire” don’t have any reviews. Whereas staff are likely going to be much more reliable and trustworthy. I run a business irl and know there is a lot of value in reviews. But I also understand most the staff members are probably busy and/or not interested in being tutors. Honestly, if I were not so busy irl myself, I would just have people tutor me in all the development stuff. But, that’s a full time job in itself and to be frank, I would rather just pay someone to create the game I am looking to have done. I just don’t want to waste my money and I’m aware the large scale games are quite a few thousand. So, I just want to make sure I do everything carefully and don’t skip any steps. I really appreciate all the help though. I am just going to keep an eye out for a well reviewed tutor and hopefully finally get things moving.

As said, the only way to hire staff is if someone’s interested or if they post themselves in the hirable channels. Just keep in mind that being staff doesn’t automatically mean they’re experts or super skilled at development stuff. There are plenty of non-staff members who are lot better.

You can also ask around through word of mouth or just reach out to some well-known devs in the community to help you out

How do you know when you share your game ideas with potential devs that they aren’t going to take off and take your idea? I am trying to have a game made and don’t want people with experience to take off with my idea…

Also, I plan to pay people half up too. So the devs will walk away happy. I am just worried that someone will get my ideas and be like, “deuces!” How do I prevent that from happening? Is there a specific contract, questions, or group of people that will definitely not do me dirty in this way. I just have thousands that I plan on investing into the ads alone for this game. You need to invest your time into creating a GDD. Make it as vague as possible but still keep the main premise/idea of the game transparent. (GDD = Game Design Document)

You share the GDD with these "potential developers" so that they can get the jist of what you want to do without giving away the full idea. If they are onboard, then you can share further details.

Curious what sort of ticket do I open to help resolve an issue with someone I’ve commissioned? They’ve failed to give updates/communicate properly. I feel the systems I’ve commissioned him for should not be taking this long. However in his TOS which I went over it states if I cancel he keeps the 50% upfront, if he cancels I get a full refund.

Furthermore he also has in his TOS refunds aren’t offered unless a clear issue arises from his side & he’ll do his best to fix the issue fairly.

He has also mentioned that he will be putting more of his time into a different personal project of his own.

Personally I feel this is an issue from his side with the lack of communication & updates. How would I go about getting a ticket with a moderator/admin to fairly sort this situation? As I want to find a new programmer, but if I cancel this commission I am down 130k rbx.
