To answer this, every moving part of your body naturally moves in an "arc"
Its the most natural form of movement in living animals

First of all try imitate ur animation with ur body and see how unnatural it feels to swing ur left arm backwards like that when u punch
And then try punch like the anim in a way that feels more comfortable

alr heres how it works
the rig
the ACTUAL orignal bones
track the movement of the armature (the other bones- usually easily readble blocks and stuff)
and in the armsture you can like disable parents to other bones giving you stuff like unparented
but you cant do that with the original since it messes it up
and since the orignal tracks the movement of the armature
it can work out
only cus of the extra skeleton
