Depends on the person because people accept progress not just your vision. So you'll be working solo mostly and eventually you make a choice "Now I have progress do I find a co dev?" With progress it raises your chances of finding a good one or are you still comfortable working alone?

Yeah the way I think of it personally is fully flesh out one tiny section of your game THEN tell the co dev your full vision and they'll be able to know whether they want to help or not and clearly tell you what they can or can't do.
