and when Discord tries to make the embed, it will go to hiddendevs.com/applications and because there's no logged in user it'll get redirected to the login page (using Discord oAuth, so it's a Discord URL)

It's a formality to provide structure. A universal place to apply combined with a set of application rules gives a fair ground and convenience for everyone including the Application Readers who are reviewing hundreds of applications a week.
Requiring applications to be sent via a Discord channel would provide much more clutter and overhead in contrast to the current system we have. I apologize for being strict with our requirements, but you must follow our rules. No exceptions
You have all the time in the world to apply. Skill role applications won't be going away any time soon.

@zinc plaza Maybe you need to hear this from someone you haven’t been arguing with, but I can help with your original question. I belief so_fx answered, but it may not have been so clear.
The reason why we have all submissions through the HiddenDevs website is so that all applications are in one place and are easy to access, instead of having to ask another staff member about an application they were DMed, or having to sort through your own DMs for an application. it can take hours.
And the reason we actually use the website is so we can keep a permanent log of all applications (This is also stated in our privacy policy that you automatically agree with by applying) In Discord, posts can easily be deleted and we can lose track of that.
One of the reasons we keep track of applications is actually to help you guys. We are frequently asked what the standards are to apply, or if your work is good enough. We like to refer back to previously accepted applications to help guide more people of what they need to fulfil those requirements.

That is fair enough, but we still would legally have to add an option to for you to delete it as per Discords policies. On the website we don’t have to provide that option because it is under our own policies, unless you are in the EU region.

I cussed to express the word ‘letter’. Cussing unprofessionally would be insulting you while using ‘fucking’ to express that insult. Instead I used it to express an inanimate object. I’m sure the letter feels fine but if you want you can go and check in on it.

Hi, im one of the hosts for the event. I was the one that filtered the posts before public voting began this morning. Any post that was deleted was removed due to not having many likes. Everyone gets 1 vote so having too many options to choose from makes the event take a lot longer so we filter the number of submissions based on likes from the staff and helper teams prior to letting the entire community vote.
