Genuine question, why are posts in the hiring section allowed to offer such absolutely atrocious rates? I feel like allowing posts that offer $20-$100 for a month's worth of full time work is pretty distasteful, and pretty much every post that's there looks like a complete and utter waste of time to me. Every time I come to this server I feel like I should be able to expect to find at least one or two offering something close to $15-20/h which would be on the low end, but I rarely if ever find even one post offering something even close to that after 10 minutes of scrolling.

I have joined and left this server quite a few times in the past after often realizing that there is sort of no point to the hiring section, which, is frankly the only thing I care about, and it has never really made sense to me why it allows for such obviously terrible pay rates. I get that there is some subjectiveness and unpredictability to it, but, in my opinion a generous estimate should not yield rates close to $0.10-$1/h and I'd really like to understand why people are allowed to post listings that are so obviously unethical.

This doesn't really answer my question, I want to know why it is that unethical rates are even allowed to be posted in the first place. It sort of just feels like a waste of space to me.

I understand that I could post there but I'd much rather spend the time posting in other places that don't have an arbitrary bar for entry/review process for posting. I can't really afford to spend a week working on a project to be reviewed for a process that doesn't have clear requirements/guidelines so that I can maybe find someone willing to pay a barely livable rate of $1500/mo so that I can keep living paycheck to paycheck forever. There are ways to do that that cost way less time/money.

When looking through commissions I often make rough estimates of the hourly rates because it's the best risk measurement for me, and of every commission I have ever looked at, the handful that I have seen that offered close to worthwhile rates I put at about $15-20/h, I have rarely if ever seen commissions that offer much better, and while I occasionally see them, I still question if the time I spend looking/evaluating is even worth it. I have seen hundreds if not thousands of commissions over the years that request tasks that would take weeks or months and offer pay in the ranges of $20-$500 for effective rates under $5/h and sometimes as low as like I said $0.10/h.

It would be substantially more useful if one of these sorts of servers had better guidelines & moderation around the rates that are allowed to be offered. I don't often see particularly respectable offers in these servers, and that leads me to believe that spending hundreds of hours of development time just to prove I am any good via a role that is not at all able to be representative of my skill level doesn't make sense.

It is frustrating to see listings that are very obviously unethical even at a glance, because while I can easily filter through them all, it still drastically increases the amount of time I have to spend searching for listings that are actually reasonable. That time is comparatively small to the amount of risk involved in investing the time to get a role that gives me permission to post, and it is questionable to me whether or not even that is worth it.

This server sort of falls victim to the same issues as the talent hub tends to in that it sort of just gets flooded with low quality, poorly paying listings that drown out a lot of the better ones, and that wastes a lot of time for anybody that is particularly good at what they do. Which makes them unappealing to those actually searching for experienced programmers, which is why companies like Uplift and Gamefam rarely if ever post listings on the Talent hub for example, despite it being Roblox's provided solution for hiring. The low quality posts sort of suck all of the oxygen out of the room and make high quality posts less sensible because it is far less likely that most experienced programmers will even stick around or pay attention to these places long enough to see the better listings, which is sort of the exact thing that I have consistently experienced in HD and similar.

These marketplaces are typically very flawed in trying to have such strict quality control around those providing the work that they neglect to apply the same level of quality control to those seeking the work out, and so they create an environment that creates a natural pressure/drive for lower quality listings.

For $5 per task to ever be worth it a task would need to take no more than 20 minutes

Which, in the world of programming is basically impossible

Unless implementing existing code or doing something very simple

Even a small bug fix is likely to take closer to 40 minutes, up to an hour maybe, depending on the circumstances

It seems like a very flawed system but it has been a thing for as long as I can remember

And that makes me believe that I am misunderstanding something, or missing some context, or something

I genuinely don't understand it and I am not saying that to complain or something, I really do mean that I just genuinely don't understand it

Almost every commission listing I see in here (and this has been true for 6+ years or so) and even in quite a few other servers, even many on the talent hub, etc tend to be offering rates that are not more than about $8/h ish, while many tend to approach closer to $5/h, $2/h, or even <$1/h

I know that suggestions have been made before around this which is part of why I'm not really concerned with making suggestions myself, I just don't understand what I am missing

Part of the confusion here for me comes from the fact that such low rates can only really be successful if teens are taking them, because they don't have bills to pay, which seems like something that these servers would want to moderate around if they had the means to do so, and for that reason it bothers me a lot that I don't know why none of these servers have any working regulations around it

I spent 2 days creating the model for the guy i ask him if was it was exterior or inteior he said yes to exterior He then has asked me to make him the inside to which i've added chairs and the such. I am not good with inteior but i had told him to be a percentage cus the outside was acurrate he refused and therefore i did the interior after finishing the model he said he didn't like it despite i've been showing him progress reports and maintaining communcation.
