It seems the game works if I restart the computer, then start steam and foxhole ASAP. The question is, why? I can only guess that some other program is interfering with Foxhole but I don't know how to figure out which one it is.

@subtle venture You need DirectX 11 Feature Level 11.0, not 10. The error message is wrong (which sadly isn't fixable by the devs). You can tell what your GPU can support by typing dxdiag in the search bar and running that program.

There's not much that I can recommend to fix this, the main one being updating your graphics drivers (this is not likely to work however.)

Hey i am having an issue where i can not use left click as a key bind for fire. when i change the bind to a key that is on my keyboard it works, but if it is any button on my mouse it will not fire. If you've done all those things there's not much more we can suggest to help

Network issues are something where there's a million different possible causes, and it's really hard to figure out what one is. Those are the most common things that affect it, but here are some others:

• Firewall settings
• Antivirus settings
• Internet Provider (schools normally) blocking access
• Incorrectly setup DNS (though this is also noticeable elsewhere)

Hey so I'm having trouble with lag. My computer specs are more than enough to handle the game and my connection is solid; however, everything I get near a large battle or anywhere near the front lines I start to experience extreme lag spikes. It doesn't do this when I'm in the back hex' running logistics. It only happens at the front line. Please help.

Couple things could be happening:

Firstly, a lot more data gets sent and received when you get near other people, so even though your connection is solid it may be having rate issues.
The second main option is that your computer is having issues dealing with all the information (This would mainly be visible in CPU use and RAM usage).

You might be able to fix this by turning your graphics settings down, as that would help on the data processing end.

Hi there I'm having hard time changing my resolution in game. I was in game went afk, and them my screen resolution changed and my cursor was not synced. I relaunch the game and I cannot access me settings.

The resolution is fullscreen, but a smaller ratio so half my screen is now black

I just launched foxhole game with my new 21:9 3440x1440p screen but after going in settings and graphics to change the resolution I saw that the field of view is cropped on top and bottom compared to the previous field of view (when I was on a classical 16:9 screen), it should instead add part of image on the side like lot of others games.
Is there any way to fix this ? cause I don't want to have a disadvantage just because of a different screen factor.

@stoic geyser That's likely an issue of your computer's bluetooth card being unable to accept multiple input channels. You can try to fix that (maybe) with a program like Voicemeeter where you can turn those into a single channel, but otherwise you probably need something that isn't restricted to one channel

Note to anyone that wants to run foxhole on linux you need to use either 5.0-10 stock proton or using 6.12-GE-1 (https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom/releases/tag/6.12-GE-1) custom proton or possible later versions. Higher stock proton versions force the game to run using "Steam Linux Runtime - Soldier" which runs the game in a container and causes lots of issues, to solve this follow these instructions (https://github.com/flightlessmango/MangoHud/issues/369#issuecomment-709902078). Custom proton version works and is much smoother then stock proton. All tests were run using native libraries on a updated arch system (7-15-21). Other issues I ran into was the game/steam failing to connect on native libraries which was solved with a restart on linux.

I know this is propably the 100th time someone asks something like this but: I started the game yesterday and everything worked just fine. Today (just before the end of the war) I log on and someone immediately hands me a binocular and asks me to spot for himr while he is using a mortar. Hello, i got a problem when i tried updating foxhole this afternoon and then trying to install it again , when i try to update or reinstall foxhole an error appears saying "Disk Write Error" and then naming a file that i dont know whats for (check image) , i already tried restarting my computer, erasing steam cache, changing server download on steam but nothing works, the only game that i have the problem with is Foxhole, already tried with other games and they install without any problem

Spawn as a Colonial, very quickly disband the regiment then log out. As long as you don't play over 6 minutes, you will not be faction locked.

Hello, having an issue with voice chat PTT. I can hear people just fine so I don't think its a DNS issue but when i pres PTT buttons it's not transmitting my voice.

Because U was added as a new keybind so it may have screwed over some of your existing ones. I would click the reset keybinds button and start over to prevent any incompatibilities

You can freely switch between both wars. However they are SEPARATE wars and so your stockpiles are not shared between them.

Hi, so my problem is that the voice chat won't work, no matter what I do.
Started yesterday, only a few moments after the war 80 went off. For a brief moment I could use it but then it suddenly stopped working. I tried reconnecting a dozen times through the options menu, restarting the game, disabling and enabling VC using U, even restarting the PC and it still won't work.
While reconnecting from options, I get the messages in chat like they're supposed to be. Voice chat enabled, connected to local voice. But still, no sauce. Any ideas?

I'm playing this game on a Linux and it runs just fine. (I don't know if it's using Proton DB or not) So far it rarely crashes when changing servers and whatnot, but since the new update, I crash after picking a place to spawn on the map. Spawning on the starting island is perfectly fine but when choosing a place to spawn I was next in teh queue and it crashes.
