Ah, my antivirus was really acting up while I trying to get it make an exception with foxhole, and since it was being really shit at being user friendly, I downright uninstalled it

I also disabled the firewall

And with the firewall reset, I even made sure to allow foxhole access through the firewall, as well as putting in a manual exception

foxhole did have a very weird issue with specific laptops with specific network cards that crashed the game about a year ago and as far as i know a unreal update did fix this but to fix it it just didnt allow a network connection @tardy pond you might be having this issue

In game if you're still able to alter the options try adjusting the in game resolution for a fix. Foxhole has a habit of setting its default resolution all on its own to something not previously set by the user.

Check you've changed onto the devbranch beta via steam
On the splash screen, in the top right, next to the word "live", click "change" and change the server shard from Live to Devbranch.

Alright. From what I'm finding online, that one's related to GPU, load and graphics drivers in multiple games. The only advice I could give is to update your drivers or change graphical settings.
Also, Max has asked for people seeing crashes to make bug reports including the Crash Dump files. Sorry I can't help more than that.

Looks like a UE4 issue not isolated to Foxhole, but to several games.
Some people have had success by disabling Nvidia in-game overlay from the Geforce Experience program, or reducing overclocking/boost settings (if either of those apply to you)

I play on Windowed mode, but if I set my window size to my screen's resolution size it will switch automatically to fullscreen (which doesnt work for me because I need to see desktop notifications while I play).
To counter that, I have set up the window to a smaller resolution and I maximize it manually to my screen size. However, every time I cross a border (from region to region or deploy area to main map) my window minimizes to a much smaller resolution than my screen and I have to keep maximizing it manually.

Is there a way to fix this?

Ok so err since this war's start everytime I load foxhole up it'll crash to desktop without an exe crash, sometimes give me a message about War-Ship file or whatever, Ill revalidate my files then it'll just tell me im missing file privledges on Foxhole, and that winship becomes unmovable, undeletable and basically a pain in my a**. Eachday ive had to mess around uninstalling foxhole, repairing steam folder, restarting etc. etc. Yesterday I had to reinstall a new version of steam beacuse the damn winship file wouldent be deleted. I have played the game for a while but took a break for about 2 months and rejoined for winter army

Well my mic apparently sounds like it is in a wind tunnel? Or super high gain idk mixed responses from players. I've tested my mic on discord and using the setting and it sounds perfectly fine. The issue is only when I talk in game with foxhole

ie, if you played too long, wait. the War ends, and a new war starts, you can pick a new side. (you can try to switch, but it takes someone involved, and you get a TIMEOUT for x days. where you cannot play) or just play as is for a bit.

I just let my friend try the game and he chose a Warden faction thinking that choosing a side is not a permanent thing. The problem is that I am a part of a quite active Colonial group that really depends on my presence.
I'd like to ask is there a chance that my profile's faction can be changed by support?

@safe flicker Your best chance is to file a support ticket on clapfoot's site or DM the support bot directly. They should be able to switch you over, but they'll apply a 24hr temp ban as a waiting period.

The problem with restarting the system after an hour of playing, this error is only with foxhole, with the rest of the games on ue4 there is no such thing. No bluescreen , but in system log , error is 0x8000400000000002. If need i can include here dxdiag file, about hardware.

Reinstalling the game wont do nothing, if you can't switch faction by doing what Rik said I think that you have to wait until the war ends

That should not be the case, you should always be able to join the faction you want, the red message on the selection screen probably confused you

Why cant anyone change my faction?
Due to high volume of players mods stopped allowing faction switching. You have a grace period instead that you unfortunately missed.
