I just bought the game, and the first time I try and boot it up, it claims that it failed to download shard info [Error: 1]. I have had specific problems like thsi with my network where it will just decide to not let me use certain online features. The problem stops me from using things like Uplay, online Minecraft, Company of heroes 1 online (not 2 though), and now this seems to have the same problem. "I've had the same problem and I fixed it by copying the most recent atidxx64.dll (the 19.12.2 one) directly to the folder where the foxhole exe (War-Win64-Shipping.exe) is at.

1. Search the atidxx64.dll. Go somewhere like C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository and search, with the upper right corner search bar, "atidxx64". Locate the most recent one, in my case even the 19.12.2 one worked, dated 10/12 which size is 26.9 MB.

2. Copy/Paste it to the game location where War-Win64-Shipping.exe is located so somewhere like Steam\steamapps\common\Foxhole\War\Binaries\Win64. It is very important that you paste it in the folder where War-Win64-Shipping.exe is located.

3. Launch the game normally.

I'm not knowledgeable in these things but it would seem Foxhole can't locate the .dll by itself?

I have a weird issue. When i start the game first time of the day it always starts updating. It takes about 5-10 minutes to end. Then if i start the game in few hours it load pretty fast (i think 15-20 sec). How can i fix that?

Like for example (Discord, skype, macfree, 3th party stuff..)

I would recommend pressing ** Esc+Shift+Ctrl** to open the task manager

Then expand it and go to ** Startup.. ** and disable some programs

No, there are no programs that start automatically when i boot my pc but i always run manually discord before the game. I think that windows may somehow change files in the game folder every time so foxhole decides to repair these files, but im not sure about this

hey i just bought the game and every time i launch it, it only shows a black screen.
i've already tried verifying file integrity, and doing what's listed in #technical-read-first⚠ for a black screen, but neither seem to fix it

nah this is not even stable drivers lol

they're different drivers

one of the benifits of linux is if there's a problem with the drivers you can just randomly change versions, and they usually don't last long

so i'm using beta drivers right now

that being said idk you might have some luck using DXVK on windows but it's built for linux

what ever instruction is causing the fatal error probably won't on Vulkan it's better supported by AMD

like i wouldn't recommend it because it might have some bugs cause it's not supposed to run on windows but it can and doesn't have a chance of destroying your install

drivers are baked into the kernel and if you are running the linux kernel provided with arch and its up to date then thats the latest version of the drivers

and actually arch is the most recommended linux os for gaming

due to latest packages and best performance

i bet its something to do with the anti lag or some other feature added into the radeon settings with the 2020 update causing it as linux doesnt have that gui front and there for doesnt come with that stuff

There another fix that might work
if you cannot connect to the server, perform the following operations:

1. Run Steam
2. Enter the game
3. Launch a VPN (https://www.comss.ru/page.php?id=4857)
4. Log in to the server
5. Disable VPN
   Perform the procedure in order, as if you start the VPN first, Steam will determine the IP and when switching the VPNa in the game, Steam changes it.
   And if you start Steam first, then everything works, and switches back to your IP.

Well, I'm currently one version behind fully updated drivers because the latest ones literally don't output any video. And I get the same result with previous drivers or I get flickering screen syndrome. I'm gonna stick with the ones I've got until some new stable ones are released.

anyone been having issues booting up a x370 motherboard. mine has been tempermental, sometimes it will start but most it wont. i have done checked all the pinouts, powercables, prettymuch anything interenal to the computer. i done changed the pcu just in case. the power switch does in fact work

@spring timber ok heres what you should do download 19.12.1 (https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/release-notes/rn-rad-win-19-12-1) launch the installer and do a clean install of all the drivers then reboot your pc after its done installing which should be the second reboot

i have just tested 19.12.1 and it works

its most likely something so do with the 2020 changes to the redon settings like the anti lag or the other features added

thats the latest version that doesnt have the new 2020 settings app

it probably didnt work the first time because you had left over drivers from the new version

a clean install would fix that

when downloading the driver manually from the link above you must select to install from downloaded drivers not recommended and select custom install then clean install

your pc will do a total of 2 reboots
