For sure! Fun fact: To keep the scene optimised, PS1 models were typically only around 500 tris, and were not rigged. Maybe in the later years they were, but usually not. This model of Dimitri is over double that, and rigged, but rather than being faithful to real PS1 models, it's more like a stylised love-letter to old PS1 horror games.

Finished another personal avatar that I had as a concept for a few months. She’s some sort of alien inspired by gold, elves, and large theropod dinosaurs. She’s my first avatar where I learned how to add custom animations to the wheel too (still no lip sync or emotes though).

This was already done on the first day of AV3.0. They used a 4-way puppet to control blendshapes on the face, allowing them to blend together as well. In fact, it's included in every Params file you create by default (VRCFaceBlendH & VRCFaceBlendV)

I've never seen an avatar like that in game, and if you read all the way through I know I'm not the first person to do this, I'm not trying to take credit for the idea at all. I just thought it was a neat idea and wanted to shed light on it, that's all. Especially to public avatar creators.

Oh yeah it's a pretty great idea, and it could be used more often by creators. I think it just takes a bit too much setup for such a niche system

It also takes a lot more time to enter the menu and select the gesture, vs. just doing a hand gesture

Plus you can lock gestures with a button press more quickly than opening a menu to manually find a face.

Menu stuff can be pretty clunky.

But that idea is definitely utilized. I see it on every booth model at Vket lately.

I used to implement a sub menu to my avatars called "Blendshop" which was a bunch of radial puppets that controlled stuff like eye dilation, sticking out the tongue, etc.
