YouTube is always going on crusades against what they consider to be bots downloading their videos ad free and VRChat uses a project called yt-dlp to do this on the PC side of things. On mobile platforms, they made their own scraper. Even on PC, we're getting similar things where playback is getting blocked by YouTube. You'd have to wait for VRChat to update the extractors or wait for your YouTube temp ip ban to expire or some VPNs might work, but YouTube is also banning IPs from data centers

Do keep in mind that if this is happening to videos that don't originate from YouTube then something else may be going on like the world's player not working properly.

From my experience it can depend on what headset you’re using, since the quest 2 has become less and less compatible with things and is more prone to crashing. I’m not telling you to buy a new headset im talking from experience. Sorry if this message is messy im half awake

There are some really great "fix issue" videos on youtube that have come in handy lately, my quest 3 decided it didnt like to charge anymore, turns out its an easy fix and is a factory thing, also in having issues running VRC on my quest 2 suddenly. Avatars take over an jour to show (yes I timed it) but more importantlt, its started running out of memory after 15 minutes of being online. Not surd if its being phased out of vrc or not but its almost more trouble than fun. Any ideas? I clear the debug> cache everytime I enter a world now. Anyone else having this much fun?

Just to note, the face tracking does not work on standalone VRChat.

Also be aware that you'll probably want to open the front up to protect required face tracking circuit boards from inevitable corrosion.

I like it, like the tracking (face and controller), like how airy it is on my face (I recommend not using any kind of light blocker).
Speaker quality passes being good enough to actually being good.

But it has been discontinued, Meta struggles keeping it stable with each update (highly recommend blocking updates, you don't want it updating) and we are quite sure there will be new face tracking headsets next year (might even be announced this autumn), which you should consider with whatever you are paying for it.

model making takes alot of time to make so its kinda understandable that the majority arent free, if your not willing to use publics then either learning to make your own from scratch or paying for an existing base and editing it yourself are kinda your only choices atp

you've gotta remember that most things for vrchat are Luxury items (the headsets,the FBT, the avatars etc)

A lot better, but if you are thinking about the cost then the lower cost Quest 3S has the performance of the Quest 3 just without the other upgrades.
The Quest 3S is basically just a Quest 2 with better performance.

Standalone Quest 2 users are suffering a lot more then Quest 3 and Quest 3S users.

If you are going to use it hooked up to a PC then the main benefit of the Quest 3S (the performance) doesn't exist.

Getting Quest Pro working with Steam Link has very little to do with getting your base stations running.

Steam Link just needs to be installed and nowadays should just work when connecting to your PC, shouldn't require any extra setup outside of just installing SteamVR (and of course having your PC connected with ethernet to router and headset using a 5GHz or 6GHz wifi network)

The base stations on the other hand kind of require bluetooth to be told when to at least shut down (I thought they were always spinning otherwise)

Normally the headset would communicate such things over bluetooth, but is a phone app and I think a PC app that can do the same.

Prior to the v76 update on the Quest Pro, Steam link turned on the base stations and detected the Vive trackers I have.
That being said, during this "Space Calibrator" refused to calibrate since the left controler was apparently not tracking
I have Virtual Desktop now so I'll see if that helps at all

It does not work without PC, face tracking on standalone was a short lived feature that was degrading performance for everyone and then split off into its own version that less than double digit people used so they scrapped it entirely

There is no way to use ft on Quest standalone, you have play on the PC version.

You pass it through using Steam Link, Virtual Desktop or Airlink/Link (Although latter is not trivial to setup) to the third party program called VRCFaceTracking which then sends it to VRChat.

it’s probably rapidly dying due to the fact your overall harming the battery by using it on charge it should have a 3 hours battery life, and the game you’re playing will drain battery using it on charge will only make it worse

elite strap will grant you an extra 2 hours of battery life i recommend that. but if you’re past the point of damaging your battery. the only charger you should be using is a charger made by meta or a charger made under very specific requirements

your average samsung phone charger will damage the battery also

i have tested the quest pro on numerous occasions i’d say it has the best face tracking without needing extra parts or customising your own face tracking

the worst thing about it? i’d say the fitting of the headset on your head, i had quite a struggle to get it comfortably fit but all it took was some tweaking

the detailing of the face tracking is a bit off, it’s got quite a high price point but honestly if you can afford it comfortably i don’t see why not

i quite like the focus vision if you’re looking for another option

i believe it dosent have mouth tracking tho

That unless you open it up and apply a coating to some circuit boards in the main ventilation then the face tracking will stop working because of corrosion (the circuit boards are for the IR LEDs at the front and if they corrode then the headset just stops face tracking from working entirely)

There is a thread in the VRCFaceTracking discord if you want to know more and see how others have done it, it is seemingly not too hard to do, something I need to do myself at some point.

Basically some things are PC compatible only and some things are PC And quest.

You'll need to see if your computer is vr compatible by downloading the quest app on it. It will tell you at the top if you can or cannot play pcvr.

You can charge and play, I'm unsure of damages it can do unless the headset or computer gets too hot.

And yes, you will need wifi connection

I'd check for pcvr compatibility before worrying about the way to connect it, taking it one step at a time is the way to go. If you struggle with figuring things out there are guides and videos online that may help you in more simple terms.
