You should really aim for the highest you can, but 30fps was usually good for a Quest 2 user when in a instance with a few people, can't really be more specific than that, VRChat hard to benchmark in such complex scenarios.

Personally, I don't think any normal world should release that can't at least hit the max fps when the person is alone in the world (in an optimized avatar), but that is tbf hard to reach.

Oh right, the official recommendation for PC worlds at least is 45fps, but think that included with other people in the instance, Quest is probably the same, but that is of course harder to get to.

to be specific i have warping off which will lower the framerate bec it gets rid of those annoying artificial frames

if i have it on i get like 60-90 but with annoying jagged edges and spikes from the game

The pcvr pipeline is as follows, typically. Open oculus app on PC > Connect headset to PC (link cable or airlink) > start steam vr > launch vrc (or launch vrc in vr mode and it launches steamvr for you)

i have tried both of those methods, and i encountered no issues with video or audio. when using the steam link app from the quest store, steam vr video works fine, but i get no audio from my headset. it plays from my pc speakers instead. i was hoping anyone would know what was going on with that

If it's playing through your PC speakers make sure you set you audio devices on game as the correct ones, also make sure the same settings are correct in steam vr.

at first i thought it was that. however, there doesn't seem to be any audio device in steam vr or windows that sends the audio to my quest. setting the steam vr audio device to "headset" unfortunately did not work. it is the same when changing audio devices in vrchat too im afraid.

Indeed. Though, did you also check to see your windows audio device? When you connect to steamvr windows creates a new audio source that it should switch to automatically, but it's likely not doing so for whatever reason.

I like the update because they bought the shine back and the in game currency is amazing, but my only problem is the content gating. As a minor of vrc I’m glad that it blocks NSFW content until ur 18 but I think that the gore should be optional but it should be on by default and you can switch it on and off. The reason being is because most kids don’t care about messing around with the settings so they pay it no mind. From a personal perspective, and as stated before, me being a minor (13+) I would like to see the gore and more stuff relating to death and blood and guts and that kinda of jazz. There are some really good gore worlds out there and I really appreciate and enjoy them so I would like to have the opportunity to enjoy that kinda of content once more then having to wait 4 year to enjoy the gore aspect in a free open world game like vrchat.

I would just like to have Extreme Horror, Graphic Violence, and Excessive Gore back for me to enjoy

I already told you what your main problem is going to be, and that's your wifi connection. You are better off with your particular set up to have your computer connected to your router with an ethernet as well as have your headset connected via cable to. Ok let’s just say that the new update is glitching everyone out. Not only did it glitch my account out. It glitched almost all my friends accounts as well. My own friend is quitting vrchat because of this, Me and my friend sent an ticket and they claimed they can’t change it nor help us. We sent ID proof that we are 18+ and they claim they couldn’t fix it. Before y’all make an update it is best to actually make things work instead of ruining everyone’s opportunity to play vrchat.

It is dependant on the dob you used. Obviously if you made your account under 18 and you are 18 or older now. You would be able to go into your safety settings and toggle the content gating on and off on your own, it won't automatically turn off, any more than any of your other settings will.

You can find third party face plate mods that has some extra rubber around the nose area. That will completely block out the light from there

Also find the optimal distance of the lenses until you don’t feel any major discomfort. You can do this by fiddling with the head strap adjustment, as well as moving a bit up and down, and fixing the lenses IP distance

Is it true if you use a higher watt charging brick, it can actually melt the charging port?

Only if the charger is really low quality, with normal chargers the device asks the charger for x amount of power and the charger supplies that amount.

The melting of the charging port can seemingly happen with any kind of charger, even the one that comes with the Quest 2.
Not heard of a pattern to it being established.

Is anyone else having a problem updating VRChat? I'm on the Quest 2 like most of u and I have not been getting updates. I know we're on build 1389, but, I'm stuck on build 1377. Someone help me.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling VRChat. I tried clearing my cache. Idk what to do.

Usually the updates happen automatically when I try to load the game but it hasn't.

Like most updates, it happens incrementally. The latest stable version is build 1388. Be patient. This was initially released November 30th.

Updates take time to filter, it's region specific too. It's not even vrc specific. Meta propagates the update through their servers at their own pace. Steam updates quicker in a lot of cases, so thats a part of the reason others have seen it first.

Vrc admins don't respond to pings. Best way to get banned. Open a support ticket at #vrchat-support if you're so inclined. But like I said. It's about waiting.

If it still happens even after a factory reset, the issue is almost always internet related. she should unplug her modem/router and wait about 30 or so seconds and then try again. also ensure that she restarts her headset.
