It was the only time that I saw a big red skull.
At that point I'm unable to keep up with the amount of coffins and enemies that spawn.
Don't know how I can get much further than that, unless the final dagger upgrade helps a lot.
I barely use jumping and shotgun/explosive/frenzy daggers though.

My own best run is only 311 seconds, so you're nearly there. Nice job! 😃 I've seen people better than me though get to 500, so it's doable.

Try using the explosive daggers on the pumpkins and top of the coffins if they start to get overwhelming (since otherwise you want to save up for the final upgrade), and shotgunning is especially useful for getting quick damage out all at once. The final upgrade brings the stream attack from 80dps to 100dps, the shotgun from 40dps to 60dps, and increases the explosive radius of the explosive daggers from 2 to 3 meters.

The 3 Spectres you saw rising at the end there carry 50 gems each byw, so they make it easier to get to the final upgrade faster (though you'll have to get rid of the Jack-O'-Lanterns and Will-O'-Wisps that spawn shortly after them first).

Alright, starting to use the explosive daggers and they're pretty good to quickly clear the many coffins and pumpkins that spawn, as long as I aim them well.

Looks like you got rather unlucky on the Spectre spawns as well: all close together like that made it harder to single one out to scrape the gems as it emerged. Still, good improvement!

You may also be focusing on the Spectres for too long. Once the pumpkins spawn farming gems is going to be trouble since they're going to be consumed by the pumpkins, which will spit out bucket/cauldrons to spawn munchkins (not to mention deprive you of gems). Try to focus down the pumpkins first while you have time before the next wave of coffins, then go back to the Spectres.

Also, at that level the damage output for the hand shotgun should be about 40 per shot, and shotgun actually travels faster than the normal shooting. Try shotgunning the pumpkins. Often by that point you can kill the smaller pumpkins by a short stream or so followed by a single shotgun blast, at a decent range.

It would be nice to see how other high score players survive longer. Is there somewhere where people share videos of it?

I can defeat 1 of the 3 Spectres if I'm lucky to do so as it spawns, otherwise it's way too difficult to aim at the gems constantly rotating and being protected by the other side of the body. As I try to get rid of them and all the pumpkins, more and more stuff spawns and I'm not fast enough.

Made an update that should make it easier. Explosive daggers are now good and proper homing daggers like in the original game. The Spectre's should flip over less now as well

Nice 👍 I'll try to test it. The Spectres really felt tough to hit with so many gems rotating. They're long enough that even if their bodies didn't protect the gems they would be strong

I don't know if the Seekers were changed but they seem to be way faster now. It's kind of random. Sometimes they bump into each other and gain speed, other times they shoot upwards
