Hey. Curious as to if anyone's had this issue. Earlier today my quest 2 mic was popping loudly when i spoke. Now my mic doesn't work whatsoever. Doesn't even seem to work with headphones with a mic. Anyone know how to fix this?

I kinda wish VRChat would remember that I turned off the HUD, instead of having to toggle it back off every single time I start the game up.
Mostly just because of the mic' indicator. The rest of the HUD, I don't mind as much, but the microphone indicator in particular being in the corner of the view every time I boot VRC back up would be nice to be able to have it remembered as disabled.

When you put a screen really close to your face, each and every single pixel will emit a certain light level. Because it's a vr headset, the heat it concentrated around your eyes, light is also focused on reaching your eyes... Leading to a dehydration of your eyes. This is normal because playing vr is like putting a flashlight to your face

But at a lower light level and for hours

If that happens to you, probably that you should lower the brightness of your oculus

And play for shorter sessions!!!!

I had it when I first used vr because my brain didn’t know how to handle vr. (Also had slight motion sickness back then) after like a week of vr usage, both motion sickness and phantom touch went away

hi this is a hella stupid question

but i'm looking for a world

i can remember most of the details:

1. It was a relativley futuristic apartment; there was a massive window in the living room which showed a city environment at night; other buildings were tightly packed around the apartment with loads of neon signs and aircon units
2. you spawned in at the entrance, where there was a small hallway that lead into an open-plan living room/kitchen with a media player to the left. i can't find the exact playlist but i think the first song it would play by default was this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3u7g0QC5uso
3. In the kitchen there was one of those DJ things just sitting on the edge of the table as a prop
4. In the living room there was a antique decorative bicycle mounted to the wall
5. on the wall to the left of the bicycle and the tv/media player there was a set of shelves that looked like this https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/kallax-shelving-unit-black-brown-10275862/ and in one of the squares there was a tiny media player that mirrored the TV and it had loads of audio-visuallizer lights
6. immediatley to your left in the hallway there was a cabinet with the world settings and credits above it
7. If you took the first left in the hallway you would enter a bathroom with a mirror and pens positioned near a whiteboard

8. if you took the first right, you would enter a bedroom with a big pride flag on the wall to your left hanging above the bed. to the left of the bed there was a storage unit for clothes and there was another media player that mirrored the tv opposite to the bed

9. if you turned 180 degrees at spawn you would find a wooden sign with something edgy written on it and you could go down some stairs to a garage with a pool table and a dj setup with loads of old CRT TVs which all mirrored the central TV/media player in the lounge

to call Meta as a parasite to the VR platform is an understatement, they are creating a intra-platform, meaning all traffic and design is ONLY for their products and is locked down and closed source. Its all for profit, so that means you can't use HTC Vive products on a quest device, its not inspiring innovation, its inspiring their own realm that is heavily focused around creating a brand, they're trying to be effectively the "windows" of the VR universe, it is hideous.

Today, I decided to join a few public lobbies for the first time. I heard The Black Cat was decent so I went there, but I must've found the bad side of the community. The Backroom map and whatever the horror mansion map was had decent people though.

I think Quest 2 is the cheapest, and it's generally well regarded as pretty good, for a headset. Not sure what the price is in CAD, though.

The 128GB Oculus Quest 2 seems to be a good device for around the 380$ CAD mark. From what I hear, it's really decent. Only thing is, you'll need a Facebook account as far as I know of, so that's a bit of a bummer. I own a Rift CV1 myself so I'm not sure how the experience is with the Quest 2, but it's supposedly a superior model in terms of resolution and clarity.

For PCVR, though, what will really burn a hole in your wallet is getting a decent GPU.

Careful, streaming music through your mic in public is a very sure fire and common way of loosing rank or getting nuisance rank and being muted for everyone by default. Most people don't like this, it sounds bad, and you'll get muted, hidden or blocked a lot which negativity impacts your rank. It's best to do this sort of thing in private worlds around friends who consent.

Public worlds are... something else. Gotta take those with a grain of salt because a lot of different people hang there. You could have a good or bad experience there. It's usually pretty loud and messy though and I personally haven't had too many good experiences in public worlds.

I worked over the summer, my supervisor was worse at her job than me, the only thing keeping her as a supervisor was her “experience” and age i guess

And a manager, even worse! I went through 3 managers in my 5 months working there, because the first 2 were so bad

First one was a theatre guy in his 40s who was a real pro at putting on a “nice guy” mask for customers but treated us like shit in the back lol

Second one had an attitude towards everything and she was always sitting down and on her phone, watching netflix as she did the bare minimum

Originally that was my intention to just have the camera automatically show whom ever was talking but at the time of creating the map, accessing personal audio wasn't possible. And probably still is because it is a security hazard

So i did the next best thing and that is to have a man pushing buttons to decide where the camera is. aka a producer

Oh very simple, Each person has their camera out and all on discord call muted with sharescreen to the camera. A 5th person or you doing the stream can click buttons to change which camera is currently on stream

When it comes to sound Im unsure

Delete your mods. Every time I've ever heard this complaint it was because someone had mods installed and a few popular mods have anti chair functions. Mods break your shit and aren't allowed. You can be banned for having them. If this isn't the case, and you're adamant you have never installed any mods, then ignore this. But 99.9% of the time I see this it's because of mods.
