ofcourse you do have a few oddities; i once met a 16 year old who within the course of a year and streaming (dont ask me.. i dont know nor care to know.) managed to buy himself a quest 2; break it, go index and fbt, and lost comms afterwards.. aparently without a single penny from parents.
pre quest 2 he had a banged up oculus rift S; not sure about where that came from; but all's in the past and not the point i suppose.

Actually i think the usb-c port is the weak part of it.
Also even pocket money, some kids get pocket money. Its remarkable how quick and easy it is to save up for things when you have zero expenses.

Hey all!
I thought I’d share something to brighten your day (for those who will read this). About two years back, I wanted to spoil myself since I was always focusing on paying bills and such, so I decided to spend almost $1,500 to pick up VR (Index + FBT + a few other things). I started off playing Beat Saber for a bit, then I remembered I played VRChat years ago during the time the whole “do you knoe da wae” thing got viral. So I decided to try VRChat!
I visited a few worlds to see how everything felt and I loved it. Fast forward a bit, I decided to try the old MEROOM (no longer exists now?). At this point, I had already learned how to create and import custom avatars—and so I did. My very own avatar I created through VRoid Studio. In MEROOM, there was this random girl who handed me a rose and wrote in the air, “U CUTE,” so I thanked her. We then proceeded to play UNO in there with a few other strangers. Before the game was finished, some kids started goofing off and we had to hop into a more specific UNO world. After the game, we all added each other as friends. This random girl was a mute at the time so it was mostly me trying to understand her hand gestures.
Fast forward a week or so, I had a day off work and decided to hop on VRChat again. I saw the “random” girl online so I decided to join her in the world she was at which was the basic/default home that we all started off with. She accepted my invite and, after talking a bit, I introduced her to the Just Dance world. We had our first dances together and decided to chill afterwards. We started talking and learning more about each other. After that point, our communication became a daily thing (Discord during work, VRC after work).
One day, she wanted to learn how to record a dance. After teaching her, we became dance partners and practiced/exercised almost every day. As we kept talking, I found out that she lives in the opposite side of the world (she was in Asia and I am in the US). Eventually, I developed feelings for her (I already knew how she looked like from Discord). Fast forward again, she also developed feelings for me. More fast forwarding, our lives got busy so we started playing VRC less and eventually came to a stop. With that, we would video call and play other games together almost every day.
As time passed, we talked about meeting each other one day but never really dug into it. Eventually, she worked out her plans to come visit me. When I found out, I was so happy and felt so lucky. During the time we were waiting and longing for each other (almost a year), she eventually booked a flight.
More fast forwarding! The day finally came where she flew to the US where I picked her up and we kissed and hugged for the first time (yes, with our masks on). Now, she is living with me. Though temporary, it will become permanent. And so, the rest of my life begins here. I’d like to show a cute little timeline of us that my partner created.

Yeah. I spent a while in the great basin exploring ghost towns and petroglyphs at 10,000' but had to outrun a blizzard which sent me south toward vegas

It was her second tumor removed. First was on her leg when she was young. I got her as a rescue around 1 when nobody wanted to coer the cost. This second one was... A lot worse.
Rescue dogs can be cheap, but I've spent over 10k on medical bills. But she's truly an amazing dog. We've spent every day together since. She works with me, sleeps with me, lives, travels. Etc. I've never left her anywhere.
